Would Gangrel be a WWE Title contender today?
Inspired by a TGR post (thanks bro! ), do you think, given the social popularity of vampires these days (Twilight, True Blood etc etc.), that Gangrel would be in the hunt for a title run today?

It's not like a vampire gimmick can't be achieved with other talents, in other time periods. If they wanted a vampire in the title hunt, they'd have one there.
It's very difficult to get ridiculous gimmicks over today. Especially in the main event.

Gangrel was over because he wrestled in a time period where the entire roster was over.

My answer is no. And not because I didn't find Gangrel and The Brood to be one of the more interesting concepts of their time. But, simply put, he's not an underwear model. Now, you put fangs on John Morrison and pale him up a bit, THERE'S your pop-culture powered vampire wrestling star. But not someone shaped like Gangrel.

The best chance at a title run Gangrel would have these days is in the woman's division. Even with that, most of the women would beat him. He did have a cool entrance though. However, entrances don't win titles.
