Wow, guess the McIntyre angle was based on reality (UPDATE: Out til SummerSlam?)
FROM THE FRONT FUCKING PAGE
--- Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett have been pulled from WWE television as their current work visas have expired and they are no longer eligible to work within the United States. In the case of Barrett, he has returned to Great Britain while he awaits a new visa to be cleared. Meanwhile, McIntyre is still believed to be in United States. According to company sources, no timetable has been set regarding their respective returns. More shortly. --- Umm, shit. They need to get Barrett back ASAP. Think the Raw GM will have to ban the Nexus until Barrett is cleared to return, which sucks. ![]() Last edited by Evil Vito; 06-29-2010 at 08:49 PM. |

Interesting turn of events, also explains why Cena got another title shot and not Wade.

Visas can take ages to be cleared in some instances. Hope that's not the case here.
Guess we'll find out next week. If the GM simply suspends them all, we'll know it might be a bit of a wait. |

They took the liberty of using it on Mcintyre, I guess his push is over for now. A shame actually, he was pretty good.

What puzzles me though - isn't an expiring work visa something you would see coming well in advance?

I'd say there's a pretty good possibility of one not even thinking about that sort of thing in their line of work, no matter how temporary a work visa may be, given time taken up by traveling nearly every single day and performing as often as they do (300 or more days a year on average) would. They already have quite a bunch on their plates as is without worrying about things like that.

Barrett's one of the guys from Nexus I'm really enjoying. I hope this doesn't kill his momentum, or the rest of the group.
Ambivalent to McIntyre. |

I like both Barrett and McIntyre. I hope to see both back eventually. I wonder if this will effect their standing in the company, though? It's got to throw plans out a little bit, and that has to stress some people out.

You need a work visa in Canada too and you could easily wait a few several years to get it so no go there. This is yet another unfortunate setback for nXt cuz his lack of presence did make a difference this past week. As for McIntyre oddly enough since his feud with Matt I was really starting to like him but now he's lost momentum all of a sudden.

Update on the Visa Troubles with Barrett & McIntyre, Sheamus News
Posted by LordsofPain.net on June 29, 2010 at 7:18 PM - Word is that WWE creative has been told not to expect Wade Barrett or Drew McIntyre back until after SummerSlam in August. It’s still possible they could be back sooner. This is bad news with Barrett being the leader of The Nexus stable and with the new report that McIntyre was scheduled to win the SmackDown briefcase at WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view. A fan saw McIntyre in Scotland this weekend so apparently he’s back home also. There has been some speculation that WWE Champion Sheamus may get caught up in the same work visa situation but the feeling from one WWE source is that either WWE caught it on Sheamus’ end while missing it on Barrett & McIntyre’s end, or Sheamus was proactive in bringing the situation to WWE’s attention and they handled it without thinking about Drew or Wade. Source: F4Wonline.com http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/...amus-news.html --- Uhh...yeah, Nexus is fucked. Just write them off next week and bring them back whenever Barrett is back. This sucks. |

Written by Bryan Alvarez:
-- However, it seems that Barrett and McIntyre aren't the only ones in risk of being deported from the country. Some of our inside sources claim that more WWE superstars including Nexus member, Justin Gabriel (real name Paul Lloyd Jr.), Santino Marella (real name Anthony Carelli), William Regal (real name Darren Matthews), Ezekiel Jackson (real name Rycklon Stephens), and Yoshi Tatsu (real name Naofumi Yamamoto). According to one or more sources in WWE, it's possible that more are in danger of being forced to leave the country with visa work issues. --- WTF? How could all of these guys' visas be up at the same time? And furthermore, how could WWE take care of Sheamus and then ignore all the other expiring visas? I'm calling bullshit. I'm certain Regal must be a US citizen at this point. |

I thought Big Zeke had citizenship as well? Something is going on here. This might be the "crazy situation" that had Vince's attention during the Daniel Bryan fiasco.

Shocked that nobody in the WWE caught onto any visa issues especially with how a few months ago TNA was in a similar situation by forgetting about Angelina Love's visa. The TNA issue should have made whoever is in charge of WWE's foreign talent do a quick check on the visas just to prevent any issue in the future at the time.
WWE could always run a mini-storyline where every member of the Nexus who has met with WWE officials ends up getting suspended since it happened with Bryan when he felt sorry for his actions and now with Barrett meeting with WWE officials. It would let them also include Gabriel if the visa isn't cleared in the near future. |

Sucks to lose Barrett, but a really easy story fix. Since he's the leader just "suspend" him indefinitely for the groups actions and have the group lay low for a week or two.
If Gabriel's visa becomes an issue, have him be the (preferably non-speaking) leader of a PG brutal attack and have him hit with a suspension also. Then just keep Nexus out until Barrett returns or use them for off-screen attacks, or have certain wrestlers "no show" RAW due to being attacked before getting to the arena. Easy fix to the whole situation and keeps the story alive and adds different twists to avoid getting stale, while also buying time until Gabriel and Barrett's shit is straightened out and Danielson's return. |

I can't see this actually being the case, but if all the visas are up at similar times, then I assume that it is the WWE's fault, and that they normally catch these sort of things and don't leave it to the talent. Also, for the record, there was that rumour that if William Regal got his third strike on the wellness policy, he would have to find work in TNA or go back to the England. Something like that.
Just re-debut Drew McIntyre with Vince McMahon when his visa is cleared. Wade Barrett can be "suspended" until it is time for him to make his return -- shocking everyone by randomly appearing on a PPV and cashing in his title shot to get the WWE Title, forcing the WWE to re-instate him. |

I really don't buy that every foreign talent in the WWE (bar Maryse?) is facing deportation. I'd guess that the "dirt sheets" are employing a lot of guess work when mentioning the names of Gabriel, Regal, Jackson, etc.

Unless, like Noid said, WWE is responsible for all those guys' work visas and making sure they get renewed before they expire, which to me seems pretty highly likely. Now I don't know if any of those guys listed in the new report are actually facing the expiration of theirs or not, but if they are, either they or WWE had better do what they need to in order to keep the guys able to work in the US.
