Why do you hate John Cena?
O.K. I get it, the IWC hates John Cena. However, I believe that most of you only hate him because it is the cool thing to do, and because you are a sheep.
John Cena leads the way in merch sales, he is in at least a year, and is the face of the WWE. He works the hardest, and is by far the busiest wrestler in the business today. That being said let me hear (read) the 2 top reasons why you hate him. The Canadian Football League - "Our Balls Are Bigger! |

Nope, and here is why;
1) He was forced down our throats from the beginning. The guy seemed invincible, and quite frankly I got sick of him playing the "Over coming the odds" guy. 2) I have never seen such over acting since Jim Carey ( LOVE him by the way) in Liar Liar. The guy screams as if he isn't talking into a microphone. 3) The way he has been talked up by the announcers. Jerry and Cole have beaten the horse to death about how Cena over comes all adversary, and it really irritates me. Now, I don't bash Cena because of his ability in the ring. His character doesn't call for anything flashy ( he is basically Hogan of the 80's). My reasons are a lot better than ; 1) He sucks in the ring 2) He sucks outside the ring |

His gimmick is good for the kids, I will give him that, and the WWE is ALL about the kids. Which I do not totally disagree with. I mean if you go back to the 1980's and some of the 90's the WWF was also mainly for the kids. Wrestling, well Vince's "Sports Entertainment" has come full circle.

As an asset to wrestling he's one of the best. He pulls in money, crowd reactions (good or bad) he's a hard worker and has a passion for wrestling. From a product and entertainment standpoint he's irritating at times, sometimes to the point of cringe-worthy. Females like him only because they are attracted to him which is half, if not most, of his fan base and then the kids that make up the rest don't know any better and will obviously like the most popular face in wrestling at the time.
He's made to look like a machine. Tonight he got beat down and suffered 2 or 3 finishers from Nexus and a couple minutes later decks Barrett and runs out of the ring really quick like he barely wrestled at all. Wtf is that? He was in a last man standing match with Batista not too long ago and he was down until just right before the count to 10 he magically springs up like nothing ever happened. |

I don't like anything about the guy in or out of the ring.
1.) As others have said he was forced down everyone's throats (and still is to this day, with or without the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship). He once held the belt for over a year (380 days, from September 17, 2006 to October 2, 2007) and likely would have held it for even longer still had it not been for the fact that Cena had suffered a torn pectoral tendon on RAW the night before. 2.) He's actually (despite the opinions of others) quite terrible on the mic, delivering a new "I'll find my way out of the latest mess unscathed, just you wait and see!" speech just about every single fucking week, and it's just old now. Add to the fact that he tailors it to be directed almost entirely towards the 12-and-under crowd by using arena-silencing puns that would make only them laugh, and it's just enough to make your ears bleed. So there you have it...two solid reasons why I not only CAN, but SHOULD hate John Cena, as should everyone else. |

I really hate Cena and can't stand him. But hear me out...
1 - As a whole, I respect Cena completely. Probably moreso than 91% of other wrestlers out there. He is probably the hardest working employee in WWE, and has continually busted his ass for the company and the fans. He is the prototype WWE employee really in the post-Attitude post-WWF era. He is safe, efficient, loyal to the company, put A LOT of wrestlers over, and Vince's crown PR jewel. Basically, he is VERY professional when it comes down to it. And good for him for being like that, everyone should. 2 - As far as people hating him for his work rate is concerned, thats absolutely retarded. No one cares about workrate except for the IWC. Cena may not be your ROH guy with 1000 moveset, but he is more of an entertainer than those guys could ever dream of. He is like Hogan, not that much of a great wrestler, but they put a lot of butts in the seat with their natural charisma. To me work rate defining a wrestler is trash. 3 - The reason why I hate Cena is because of his on screen character. It annoys me. He's too much of a babyface, the ultimate of all good guys. To the point where its unbelievable. You don't find those people in real life, it doesn't reflect how society really is. Okay fine, there are some people like that out there, and most people get annoyed with their goody two shoes personality real quick. He is the babyface we used to see in the old days, pre-Attitude era that fans just got sick of cheering for. Furthermore, it didn't help when he was being pushed down everyones throat a couple years ago going on a 1+ year long championship reign and being Super Cena. But today's Cena is a lot better than that one (which was the worst). Maybe I'm just an older guy and not the kids that WWE markets toward, who can see past all that. The character has 0 balls. He needs to turn heel. That's all. |

1. "The Champ is Still Here" used to be impactful, but now when he strips down to those generic sk8er shorts and growls his voice, makes the vains in his neck pop out, it's one of those really awkward things you see on TV from time to time.
2. When Big Show chokeslammed him off the stage, and through a spotlight, I was 90% sure he was gonna get up and hit the Attitude Adjustment for the win. That's how over pushed he was, to refer to the others, it was unrealistic and unbelievable, sure this sounds stupid when I talk about something that did happen realisticly, but all of the Cena vs Raw Roster, Cena vs so and so in triple threat, getting his ass kicked, oh wait he some how has the stength to climb the turnbuckle, botch Kelly Kelly's bulldog, toss the other person out of the ring, he than takes the time to hit the 5ks, than the Attitude Adjustment. Oh wait he has to drop the person because other dude is up, oh wait he has both of them on his shoulders somewhere. OMG half impact on both men, and the pin. THE CHAMP IS STILL HIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!! {edit: 3. Just realised how much I wrote, wtf, I hate Cena that much. That's what most people would call an eye open'r. Look at how so many people constantly hate on Cena. It's no bandwagon, we just fucking hate him} Now I'll give summory/list of when I liked Cena and why. 1. When he wasn't limited by PG, back on Smackdown. He was fueding with JBL, and I laughed so hard at something that was obviously fake. JBL (WWE Champion) has a no-physical-contact clause. JBL out on SD for a promo. Cena's music hits and he goes and spraypaints Bradshaw's fucking limo. "JBL Sucks" I believe. He walks down to the ring with a mic and sprays FU across JBL's chest, (he's wearing a suit). Cena keeps saying "I'm not touching you" In a childlike voice. That was when I liked Cena, and if he had of kept with his punk-ass persona, I think we'd all like him, and the little kids. The PG rating turned Cena into a mindfuck. 2. His merchandising skilz.... FUCK THAT. any little piece of shit kid can get mommy and daddy to buy his crap. While teenagers and adults, have more important shit to spend their money on (recession much). Merchandising is the only defense people have for Cena. And as someone who has one RVD shirt and one edge shirt. Maybe we should be asking the older members what shirt they would buy, if WWE gear was a priority, as if in a child's eyes. |

I hate Cena because he is shit in the ring (superman), shit on the mic (example: promo on Seamus last night), and he is being shoved down our throats... still.
He is the purest representation of sports entertainment. I really hate sports entertainment. |

You are all lying to yourselves. You know the only reason you hate John Cena is because he could have any of your girls.
Granted, he is not the most technically sound wrestler today, but I can think of worse. Batista comes to mind. At least Cena adds to his arsenal new moves every so often. He cares about his profession, unlike most wrestlers today. Are there most deserving talent out there? Maybe. Were there more deserving talent then Hogan in the 80's? Yep. But Vince rides his horses until they break. Its his MO. Get over your jealousy people. |

It's not a matter of jealousy (come on, really?), it's a matter of taste in the product, and Cena embodies what a lot of use hate about Sports Entertainment.
I've said in the past, I have unlimited respect for Cena, I think he's a great wrestler when he wants to be and is allowed to properly go, I think he can promo well when it's called for, I think he has charisma out the ass and I think he is the absolute best PR man the WWE has ever had. He is the absolute best man, at this moment, to be at the top of and the face of the company. It just so happens that he has a gimmick that I and many others don't like, and we're vocal about it. The gimmick also dictates his in-ring style and his promo style. It's all about Cena's gimmick, at least for me. |

I hated Ricky Steamboats fire breathing dragon gimmick. I hated Tito Santanas matador gimmick. I didnt boo the shit out of them everytime they hit the ring. It all boils down to simple jealousy. He is a pretty boy, (I am secure enough in my masculinity to say that) so he cant possibly be a good wrestler. Shawn Michaels faced the same delema for a while. Pure and simple, people do not like him because he is cheered by every female in the building. |

The same thing is happening with Cena. He was popular for a long time, but the more women who liked him, the more men decided to boo him. You can give me every other reason in the book that you want, but the fact remains: a good looking wrestler who gets a higher profile will atract more women fans and less male fans. The cure for this problem is to turn heal. Or to be a heal. That is why Orton is still well liked. Cause guys dig heal. |

Honestly this is how I feel. I turned back to the HR Derby last night once he stated talking. He isn't half bad when he's serious, but hes happy and campy all the time now. You just lost the WWE Title, and you make mayo jokes. You got jumped by 7 guys, joke joke joke. If HBK got jumped by 7 guys, he wouldn't joke around, he'd forfeit the IC title.

I hate Cena.I hate his face,i hate his goofy promos,I hate his stupid ring attire.i hate that he does the same damn moves in every match, almost in the same order as the last match.I hate that one of the worst in ring wrestlers i've ever seen is made out to be some submission expert.I'd rather watch Rob Terry vs. Khali then Cena vs. anyone.plus his movies suck real, real hard.almost every scene in the marine was him jumping out of exploding buildings.I hate that he is the face of WWEPG
