Top Five Midcard Wrestlers WWE needs to keep..
...away from TNA.
Let's face it, some of us enjoy the WWE mid card more than the main event. So which WWE superstars should WWE keep under contract, if nothing else, to prevent them from heading to TNA? Mark Henry- The Worlds William Regal- He's a legit tough guy loved and hated by millions. Aside from the potential to wrestler Wolfe, Regal could really teach a lot of guys. He has a style not really seen in TNA... I doubt he would be anywhere near the main event, but still, he would be quite a grab for that company. Matt Hardy- Aside from also being able to wrestle under his legal name like Henry, Matt and Jeff can make a hell of a draw (if Jeff doesn't go to jail... Any update on that? I kinda stopped following after I stopped giving a damn). Justin Gabriel- He's the guy that hit the last move on Vince McFuckingMahon... Do I REALLY need to say more? The guy that took out Vince McFuckingMahon... The Miz- The same basic thing as Mark Henry, only without the risk of injuring himself or another wrestler. Mike Mizanin has a WORLD of potential, he can cut as good a promo as anyone else, and his ring work is better than average. And my personal feelings on The Miz can be summed up in one word... Awesome. Quote:

Does the Miz really count as a Midcarder anymore, after winning the Money in the Bank?

Yeah Miz hasn't been midcard, IMO since before and leading up to the night he showed up as "The Calgary Kid".

1.) Evan Bourne - I shudder to think how well / horribly TNA would book a Styles vs. Bourne rivalry. They've had an awesome match in the past, and I think that would be a go to feud if Bourne slipped away to the competition.
2.) Morrison- Not too strong on the mic, but he'd bring a hell of a lot of attention to the X Division. 3.) MVP - Let's face it, they're letting him go to pot right now in the WWE. If he left to join TNA, MVP would probably be hailed as the second coming of Booker T. 4.) Regal - A valueable heel who would probably be turned into a top heel if he signed with TNA. HINT WWE... USE REGAL AS MORE THAN SANTINO BAIT. and finally.... 5.) Chavo - I can just sense this one coming and I really don't want to see it happen. |

That's why I desperately want Morrison to turn heel. I think he's sick in the ring and his mic work on the Dirt Sheet was at least above average. But nowadays, I start to cringe everytime I see him with a mic. It's like a bad horror movie. |

In no particular order...
Santino - I know the guy works a dead end comedy gimmick now, but he's got some serious mic skills, and from what I understand can go pretty decently in the ring if given a chance. He could be so much more, and if someone "taught" him how to fight, I could see the fans really getting behind a Santino push. IMO, could be a legit draw if booked correctly Zack Ryder - Young, can really go in the ring (see: his matches against Christian on ECW), and has some pretty decent mic skills. He'll only get better with seasoning, and could make a really solid IC/US title contender. I don't know if he's a world champion type of guy, but I think he can easily slot into the upper midcard given a few years of polish and a slight gimmick tweak Christian - I know he was in TNA already and it did shit all for them drawing wise, I just feel like he, if given the chance, could make money for the WWE. Supremely talented as a worker and a talker, and given a couple of months build could easily slot into the Smackdown main event scene. Kofi Kingston - Maybe not completely a midcarder, but I think he'd be a huge loss for the 'E. Given that TNA has a much more open style, he'd get the chance to really wow with his acrobatics, and as we've heard, the guy can talk. Go there, and he could be in the main event...as he probably also could get to in the WWE. Drew McIntyre - Look, with all the grief that he gets, he's still relatively young, very solid on the mic, and has shown flashes in the ring over the past month. I think that while he's been pushed a little too quickly, he's a very talented guy who really does remind me of a younger HHH...and thats a guy you don't want your competition to have. |

I'm quite sure that losing Matt Hardy would not be as important as losing McIntyre, Morrison, Ziggler, Kingston or Christian.....

The WWE could lose any guy or couple guys to TNA and neither companies ratings would change. TNA can't book and there is always someone to fill the void on the WWE card.

It wouldnt really matter if TNA picked up any of these guys (or any guys for that matter) but the midcarders I value the most right now:
Dolph Ziggler Christian John Morrison Evan Bourne Kofi Kingston |

Morrison. The guy for some reason hasn't gotten THE PUSH in WWE yet, but if he goes to TNA, he'll be Champion in like 3 months.
And, Miz is the next HBK...without the incredible wrestling ability (there will be NO ONE like HBK in that department, he was the best ever), but in terms of charisma, audience control, and decent wrestling. |

Would losing MVP really be that bad for WWE?
I think it's in Matt Hardy's best interest to leave. I think in TNA he could reinvent himself via the type of promos Austin cut when he went to ECW. All the stuff he could shoot on from his time in WWE + being reunited with Jeff would be great. Other than that I say Miz, Kofi, Morrison, and Bourne. |

Is he good on the mic? Yeah. Do I enjoy his gimmick? Sure. I need to see him run on his own more before I'm convinced he's vital to the WWE. I will say this though. If TNA got hold of him, they would probably turn him into their version of Orton. |

Ehhh. I wouldn't go that far. Ted Sr. did do 3 years in WCW so never say never. The only guys I link to WWE permanently are Shawn, HHH, Taker, and eventually Cena.

1. John Morrison
His forced face run is seeming to dry the guy up, but the guy is just so amazing to watch in the ring. He's got mic skills when he's not awkwardly trying to suck up to crowds. He'll be one of those stupid releases if it ever happens. Imagine him in TNA, though. Kurt Angle vs. John Hennigan? I'll be there. 2. Matt Hardy Of all the mid-card guys the WWE has, Matthew Moore Hardy probably makes the most money. Creatively, losing him might not be the worst blow to the company, but he's probably one of the only mid-card guys that could financially hurt the WWE somewhat. Jeff & Matt together are probably an even bigger draw than either of those guys seperately, and I guarantee a Hardy Boyz reunion in TNA if Matt was ever released. Those guys feuding with Beer Money, The Motor City Machine Guns, Generation Me and even Ink, Inc. is money. 3. Kofi Kingston This guy can just do it all. He's young, he can talk, and pretty much every one of his matches is good. If he shows up in TNA as Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah, then he'll be another case of The Pope, I feel. People will connect to him, he'll have great matches, and it won't crush the WWE -- but it'll be a "What the fuck were you thinking?" scenario. 4. Dolph Ziggler Maybe it's just because I am so high on the dude, but I think Ziggler is a guy who just "gets it." His ring work is better than average, and he's not horrible on the mic. He may not be amazing when cutting promos, but I feel that if you gave him a live mic he'd be able to be entertaining enough. His real name is better than his WWE name, too. Something about Ziggler, too, is that I find he builds credibility really easily. Some guys just struggle with it, but you give Ziggler a few wins and he looks like a world-beater. I'd love to see him and Kurt Angle have a feud. 5. David Hart Smith This is a bit of a weird one. I was torn between Smith, Santino Marella and Christian. I basically feel that DH Smith could be a huge star. The guy is only 23, and he's already better in the ring than most guys in the business. That he's got some size to him, has a legacy and is not without charisma only helps his case. Didn't he also train in some MMA with Chris Barnett or something, too? This guy could be put over as a huge beast, and the idea of him working pretty much anyone in TNA is pretty exciting. I honestly feel that he could be a really big catch for whatever company gets him now that he has had some WWE exposure. |
