Your thoughts on pro wrestling's responsibility

I found this video after reading about Lace Cade's death. I loved watching High Voltage vs Disorderly Conduct on WCW Saturday Night. Robbie Rage was one of those guys who left wrestling and doesnt really blame it for what happen to him. He didnt cry about his problems, he cleaned himself up and now has a good life. There are people on both sides of the coin, some who can just walk away and others blame "the business" for what happen to them. The WWE has drug testing, pays for rehab programs, how much of a "responsibility" do you honestly think professional wrestling has to it's employees?

It's the wrestling businesses' responsibility to make sure that their employees are able to perform without hurting others or themselves. If a guy has drug or alcohol problem away from the arena that doesn't effect the safety of himself or his opponent in the ring then I don't think that there is much that can be done. It's on his own time. If, however, he shows up drunk or high all the time and is sloppy and injures people then, yes, they have a responsibility to step in.

I definitely think offering TNA and WWE should offer rehab to any of their employees who want it. For some reason the culture of pro wrestling seems to have a lot of substance abuse and while you can't blame the companies for starting it, it is in the best interests of the companies to stop it now and for future generations.

I think this says more to the problem with drugs in sports then it does in wrestling. Wrestling gets called out more harshly then any other team sport and they have more strict testing apparently. Cade and Umaga were given chances to clean up and did not. I believe the older wrestlers this has happened to can rightfully blame WCW and WWE for their issues, but now they can't so much. The wwe is so highly watched they have to be on the up and up. Drug scandals ruin campaigns. Before they were encouraging their stars to use. Vince was using as well. No regular man I know looks like that when their 60+.

Here is what I think if you get into wrestling you should know what you are getting into. Its as simple as that. The number one thing that pisses me off is putting the blame on one person. Like someone saying Triple H held them back or Ian Rotten fucked them out of some money. Well think about this maybe it was the wrestler who is holding himself back because he just isn't trying hard enough. Ian Rotten has track record you should know what your getting into.

I also get tired of hearing that they have to take drugs just to cope with being on the road. Responsibility doesn't rest on Pro Wrestling's shoulders it rest on the person getting into the business.
