Wrestling Deaths and the WWE

First I'd like to say that I'm in no way a fan of how WWE runs shit. I think them being able to classify wrestlers as Independent Contractors yet control every aspect of their career is bullshit, their deepest condolence shit when a wrestler dies is callous, their HOF is political bullshit, and their future endeavor message... I actually think that's kind of funny.

But, is it fair for WWE to be brought into the conversation every time a wrestler dies. I was watching local news and the discussed the tragedy with Luna and they immediately went into the WWE wellness policy and tried to attribute some of her possible addictions to their lack of one at the time she wrestled. It's been ten years since Luna was a part of the WWE, how is it their fault. Even Lance Cade to a certain extent can't be put on WWE. He was gone for almost two years at the time of his death.

How much do you put the blame on the WWE, and how much goes to the individual in some of these cases?

I would say it's fair, especially for people wrestled when the Wellness Policy wasn't in effect. The wrestlers were at one time under contract. I haven't seen the Luna reports so I don't know how they reported it, but it is fair to say that she wrestled at a time when there was no Wellness Policy because she did. That certainly didn't do her body any favors. I would suspect the news only mentions the WWE because they are the only name that will catch a listener's ear.

I would say yes. There has been some coverage of the Cade interview with Bollin that I posted here as well. There's some damning shit in there. About the need to "Keep your spot" and the reason why he used steroids.
