Whats your take on Kanye? He's critically acclaimed, but I'm curious as to what people who listen to more than mainstream rap/hip-hop think of him.

I listen to some underground hip hop/old school stuff and I honestly never gave a crap about him. He isn't terrible, I just don't care enough to go deeper based on most of the stuff I heard that he put out.

He is a crazy talented producer and a decent rapper. From time to time he has great lines. A lot of people talk like he is the greatest ever, but I'd say far from even top 20.

I listen to pretty much every level of hip hop (ie both underground and mainstream) and he is, "imo", the best producer in the history of hip hop (except for maybe Madlib). He's not as bad of a rapper as people make him out to be...he's got some clever puns and punchlines that only he could pull off and some that are so horribly stupid that I actually love them.

Most any song on any of his albums could be a single, and I keep finding gems that I hadn't given a second thought to before.

Favorites: Can't Tell Me Nothing, We Don't Dare, Head 'Em Say, Crack Music, Good Friday, Gone, Amazing
