Program for Viruses, etc.
Forgive my total lack of knowing about anything to do with computers.

I am looking for a good [and FREE, lol] program that can search your computer for viruses or other nasty / non-necessary things and destroy them. Completely. I mean obliterated.

Or at least remove them from your computer, etc.

Help, por favor. Mucho appreciado.

Avast is probably better than most paid apps.

AVG's web protection gets too many false promises for my liking.

A combination of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, Spybot - Search & Destroy, and SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition because just one program won't get everything.

I also use Avast. My experience has been, as far as Antivirus programs go, almost orgasmic.

avast has treated me well the past few weeks. got tired of the cat and mouse game with eset, so switched over to a free one.

I use avast, been very happy with it. I also use Malwarebytes anti-malware, and spybot. Crap Cleaner is good too.
