Survivor Series

Survivor Series is usually one of my favorite PPVs of the year. I like the elimination tag matches and some of them have gone on to become some of my favorite matches. What are some of your guys favorites? I have seen all of the Survivor Series through tapes or DVDs

Some favorites of mine are:

The Hart Foundation, Demolition, The New Dream Team, The Islanders & The Bolsheviks vs. Strike Force, The Rougeau Brothers, The Young Stallions, The Killer Bees & The British Bulldogs- Survivor Series 1987 (The matches involving the tag teams turned out to be the best match at some of the earlier Survivor Series)

Hulk Hogan, Bam Bam Bigelow, Ken Patera, Paul Orndorff & Don Muraco vs. Andre the Giant, King Kong Bundy, One Man Gang, Rick Rude & Butch Reed - Survivor Series 1987

The Powers of Pain, The Rockers, The British Bulldogs, The Hart Foundation & The Young Stallions vs. Demolition, The Brainbusters, The Bolsheviks, The Rougeau Brothers & The Conquistadors - Survivor Series 1988

Ultimate Warrior, Jim Neidhart & The Rockers vs. Andre the Giant, Arn Anderson, Haku & Bobby Heenan- Survivor Series 1989

Ric Flair, Ted Dibiase, The Warlord, and The Mountie vs. Bret Hart, The British Bulldog, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Virgil- Survivor Series 1991

Randy Savage, Razor Ramon, The 123 Kid, and Marty Jannetty vs. Diesel, Adam Bomb, Rick Martel, and IRS- Survivor Series 1993

Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Owen Hart, Jeff Jarrett, and Jim Neidhart vs. Razor Ramon, The British Bulldog, Fatu, Sionne, and The 123 Kid- Survivor Series 1994

Razor Ramon, Owen Hart, Yokozuna, and Dean Douglas vs. Shawn Michaels, Psycho Sid, The British Bulldog, and Ahmed Johnson- Survivor Series 1995 (This is one of my all time favorites and I loved the concept of mixing up faces and heels on the same team going against their allies)

This one is mostly just because of the debut of The Rock:
Rocky Maivia, Jake The Snake Roberts, Marc Mero, and Barry Windham vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Goldust, Jerry The King Lawler, and Crush- Survivor Series 1996

The Nation of Domination (The Rock, D-Lo Brown, Faarooq and Kama Mustafa) vs. Ken Shamrock, Ahmed Johnson and The Legion of Doom- Survivor Series 1997

Edge, Christian and The Hardy Boyz vs. Too Cool and The Hollys- Survivor Series 1999

The Radicalz(Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, and Perry Saturn) vs. Chyna, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg Jesse James, and K-Kwik- Survivor Series 2000

Team WWF(The Rock, Chris Jericho, the Undertaker, The Big Show, and Kane) vs. Team Alliance (Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and Shane McMahon)- Survivor Series 2001

Team Austin (Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and The Dudley Boyz) vs. Team Bischoff (Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Christian, Scott Steiner, and Mark Henry)- Survivor Series 2003

Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, and Maven vs. Triple H, Edge, Batista, and Snitsky- Survivor Series 2004

Team Smackdown (Randy Orton, Batista, JBL, Rey Mysterio, and Bobby Lashley) vs. Team Raw (Shawn Michaels, The Big Show, Kane, Carlito, and Chris Masters)- Survivor Series 2005

Team DX (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Jeff and Matt Hardy) vs. Team Rated RKO (Randy Orton, Edge, Johnny Nitro, Gregory Helms, and Mike Knox)- Survivor Series 2006

Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly, and Jillian Hall vs. Victoria, Natalya, Maria, Michelle McCool, and Maryse- Survivor Series 2008

Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, Cody Rhodes, William Regal and Mark Henry vs. Batista, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy, and R-Truth- Survivor Series 2008

The Miz, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger, and Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, Evan Bourne, and Finlay- Survivor Series 2009

Kofi Kingston, Christian, MVP, R-Truth, and Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton, CM Punk, Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes, and William Regal- Survivor Series 2009

My overall favorite one is a toss up between Team WWF vs. Team Alliance and Team Austin vs. Team Bischoff.

Im glad Survivor Series didn't go away like it was supposed to.

Favorite Moment... would have to be HBK winning the World Heavyweight Championship in 2002 at the first elimination chamber

Although, I do agree with your last statement, in my opinion the WWF VS Alliance one was the best. Despite the Alliance only have two non-WWF wrestlers, the match was still incredible!

This one will be great as long as there's none of those piss boring 4 vs 4 elimination matches. Fucking dreadful.

I just hate how in regular tag matches, partners constantly break up pinfalls to avoid losing. When Survivor Series rolls around, no one apparently gives a shit and lets their teammates lose.

If they wanna book their matches like that, then they should announce some "zero tolerance" rule on breaking up pinfalls where the wrestler that breaks up the fall gets DQ'd.

I actually thought of him when typing that lol..but that's really the only case off the top of my head. And I remember Punk being saved at SS 06. But for the most part, pinfalls/submissions are never broken up.

I think Team DX is the only team in Survivor Series history to still have all of their members intact at the end of the match. That was easily the match of the night at that one anyway and the one the crowd liked the most.
