I really don't see the need for an interim champ though.. They don't even have a contender after Dos Santos so in the 6 months just have that worked out then have the Cain/Dos Santos fight and boom, back in business..

Even when Dana loses he wins. Cain's timetable for return gives him time to train and possibly fight on the UFC card in Brazil. Would be very interesting to have the Mexican champ fight the Brazilian challenger in Brazil. Rio would be nuts if JDS pulled out the W.

Carwin's injured with a surgically repaired back

Big Country's contract issues won't be solved for a while.

There will be no interim title, so fucking stop talking about it. They didn't have one for the LW title with Rua out for almost a year. Dana White hates interim titles, the only reason they had one involving the HW title was because they were uncertain if Brock would ever return. Seriously, there will be no interim title fight, so fuck off about it already.

What the hell are you talking about? The heavyweight division has had an interim champion at some point every year for the last three years. Big Nog was an interim champ, Mir was the interim champ when Brock beat him, and Carwin was the interim champ when Brock beat him.

GSP was interim champ before he beat Serra to become the reigning undisputed champ.

The only reason they didn't do an interim title for the light heavyweight belt is because Rashad Evans, the recognized number one contender, made it clear that he didn't want to fight anyone but Shogun. You think Dana likes the clusterfuck log jam at LHW or having a healthy and able Rashad Evans not fight again for almost a year after beating Rampage back in May?

I know Dana White hates interim champions and doesn't like to do it unless he as too. He doesn't have to. You ever think maybe with all the interim titles in that division over the last few years he wants to avoid it at all costs. Cain is only out 6-8 months which means he could be fighting again within a year.

And if Dana White had wanted Evans to fight for the interim title, the fight would have happened, the idea that it wasn't made because Evans wants to wait is ridiculous. Evans could have fought again, just not for the title, so he's chose to wait.

The fact that there have been interims champions has nothing to do with now, the champion doesn't have a career threatening injury or disease, and hasn't tried to jump ship like Couture did a few years back, so with Cain's comeback inevitable there is no reason for an interim title fight, so let's stop the talk about one, it's not going to happen.

That's fine to say one isn't happening or Dana isn't fond of interim titles, but you can't dismiss or ignore past actions and make bold statements as if it hasn't been done before.

As far as the idea that the fight wasn't made because Evans wants to wait being ridiculous here's a direct quote from Rashad:

"I enjoy the learning process and what happens when you are always training for a fight, there's only so much you can learn because everything is only for that fight. I never said it hasn't been done, I had actually just acknowledged the circumstances around the previous interim title fights, explaining how this wasn't like the previous instances.

You can quote Rashad all day, isn't going to change anything, because it doesn't fucking matter what he wants' last time I check Dana White was the boss. I also just read an article from the same site with Dana White stating that a interim fight wasn't going to happen.

You're still not right, the fact that there has been interim titles in the past isn't being disputed, that there will be one for the HW title currently is, and the fact that there hasn't been a LHW because Rashad wants to wait, which isn't the case.

Supposedly he want to leave UFC after Cain destroyed him and Carwin beat him up in the first round of their fight.. He still has one fight left under contract but he would be a huge bitch to leave just cause he isn't dominating everyone in his path.. What did he expect?? This is the UFC not the WWE..

Well aparently Dos Santos is going to fight for an interim title since he was all bum hurt about not fighting. The oppanent has to to be determined, so yeah, another pointless "title fight".

My thoughts exactly, Lesnar and Carwin both coming off loses, the UFC HW division isn't all that deep with high level title contender talent.

Probably gonna be Lesnar, since Dana White announced JDS and Lensar as the coaches on TUF 12. Seriously, what is Lesnar going to teach someone he potentially has less experience and fights than? The guy doesn't even have great coaches to come in and pick up the slack. He surrounds himself with a bunch of yes-men from what I've read.

In all fairness though, I don't think the TUF coaches are there to teach so much as they're there to add a name and entertainment value that will make people want to tune in and watch a bunch of dudes live in a house with no women and workout.

Plus they only film for six weeks and most of the guys from TUF don't dramatically alter their fighting styles because of their coaches no matter what they may say in the interviews. Kos brought in some of the best coaches in MMA and his team still blew dick. I think Rampage had the Wolfslair guys and his team still got horse fucked, yet Bisping's team won out with a similar staff and dude slept in for one of his fighter's fights.

I'm just looking forward to seeing Brock get increasingly agitated at the cameras and since Dos Santos reps Black House we might get to see Silva make an appearance and pretend not to speak English.

Koschecks team sucked because Kocheck was a shitty coach, and made bad picks, not to mention GSP had probably the best possible coaches and trainers he could find. And Wolfslair is trash, Rampage hasn't been at his best since moving there.

I mean theres a world of difference between having JDS and the Noguiras and anyone else from that camp in your corner, and then Brock Lesnar, all Brock will do is yell for a double leg.

But let's be honest, once those guys get in the cage most of them are going to revert back to what they do naturally anyways. Look at Kos' guys.

And you're not giving Brock enough credit. I think he has also learned that he should tuck his chin and keep his hands up and how to hammer fist an opponent, so that's three things he can contribute.

How has Wolfslair been the problem? He KOed Wandy the first fight with them (someone Rampage couldn't beat) and the fight between him and Jardine was fight of the night. He was fat and out of shape going into the Evans fight after filming a movie and the Machida fight was somewhat of a let down partly due to Machida's style.

You can't really say AKA's coaching staff is so inferior to GSP's top to bottom either.
