Ruien's 2k thread - John Morrison
After 5 years and 11 months, Ruien has reached his 2,000 post mark. YEY! Sadly probably 500 of my post came in three weeks of spamming the TNA threads back when Petey Williams was a little Scott Steiner.
Anyways, with this awesome thread I would like to point out how awesome John Morrison has been of late. Ever since he helped Santino beat Sheamus in a match, they have been sky rocketing him. Not much mic time with a lot of ring action, the best way to get him over. What do you all think of his push? Will it last or is it a Kofi Kingston type of push? (That he had with Orton) |

Seems to be that lately everyones push is as good as Orton allows it to be.
Congratulations on 2K, I hope to get there someday. |

Jeff Hardy had horrible Mic Skills, so does Rey Mysterio, hasn't limited their push to cruiserweight champion. Oh wait..
WWE centers around the Main Event... Yea, Morrison is screwed. |

I really enjoy John Morrison. The man has a great look, is tremendously fun in the ring, sells like a motherfucker, is charismatic and as a heel can talk. All he really needs to do is nail cutting promos as a face. I like the way his push has seemingly been sustained, without giving him too much too early. I just hope the WWE doesn't give up on him.

Agree with Noid.
I hated Johnny Nitro when he started, could not stand MNM. I thought he was nothing more then an acrobat trying to be a wrestler. He started growing on me when he joined up with the Miz (as did the Miz, for that matter). Now I really want to see those two in a sustained fued. I was so pissed when they hotshoted their match to Raw a couple of weeks ago. That match should have been on PPV with a nice build behind it. Oh well. |

I really think he needs to turn Heel to go to the next level. Look at what Punk has done and how his character has really evolved over the last year or so, he could never have done this as a Face.

Morrison has had the best matches in the WWE for over a month now. Opinion of him is still the same - He needs a makeover. But as far as skill goes, he has been the focus of my attention when I want to see actual wrestling.

An idea I had today for Morrison:
The general consensus seems to be that Morrison is great in the ring, but needs to shut up as a babyface. How about they have Morrison take a vow of silence until he wins the WWE Title? That way, Morrison doesn't need to cut promos, and there's a reason why. It also paints a clear direction for his character, and it would allow Morrison's ring work to do all the talking. Morrison can still communicate with the WWE audience. I'm imaging segments where Morrison hands Todd Grisham a piece of paper, with Grisham reading something Morrison has written (hopefully with the same comedic stylings as his Dirt Sheet stuff). Morrison could also bring in Divas to read his promos, or hand Todd Grisham a note saying that he is going to communicate his thoughts to us telepathically...in the voice of William Shatner. Cue Shatner voice over. So Morrison would still have his personality, but it'd just be more focused and have more of a mission. |

John Morrison and Sheamus is just incredible. Great chemistry. I hope these two keep an open and competitive feud throughout their careers, as they rise up the ranks.
It reminds me of HHH and The Rock, sorta. Something just clicks and there's not really a great reason why. The matches are always a blast. |

I agree. I truly appreciate Morrison vs. Sheamus, to the point where I hope that one day they are able to put out a DVD consisting of all the matches they have had, and it tells a story of two guys' rise to WWE fame.
