How successful do you feel Dolph Ziggler's push has been?
I know it's not over yet, but how impressed or let down have you been with Dolph Ziggler's early heel push in 2011? Has Ziggler given you enough that you feel he'll be a permanent fixture of the scene soon? Where (if anywhere) do you feel Ziggler needs improvement?

I think a lot of people probably feel as if the WWE is trying to hard to force him into being a big star. Like I suggested, they'll probably take away Vicki and when they do that he'll end up floundering around in the mid card and most likely gone by the end of the year.

Pretty damn good. Gone from a fun worker to someone I'm excited to see everytime he's on the PPV card.
Can see big things happening. |

I think Dolph's push is one of those that we see around this time of year for the rumble period/no way out period. A push for someone that realistically isn't going to win the title, but provides a "stern challenge" for the guy they want to head into Wrestlemania as champ. Look at the push for Jerry Lawler at the moment to keep the Miz busy.
1993 saw Razor Ramon with an instant push, but then he ended up facing Bob Backlund at that years Wrestlemania, before settling comfortably at mid to upper mid card level. 2003 Scotty Steiner was given a push and a few title matches, one at the rumble...2004 saw of all people Hardcore Holly take on Brock Lesnar for the WWE title!!! Mark Henry 2006 vs Kurt Angle, Umaga vs Cena 2007. That being said, I'm comfortable with Dolph Ziggler's push, but am conscious that a lot of the momentum is purely down to the Vicki Guerrero effect. It doesn't feel forced like some of the examples I cited above. When she leaves him, and she will, he will settle back in the mid card, probably in the MITB match at Wrestlemania. |

Really well. I thought Ziggler was gone when a) Mysterio fucked him out of his push for the IC title and b) When Ziggler made that terrible promo on PPV against Steamboat (I think). I couldn't watch, it was just terrible.
He can tell a great story in the ring, and they've got the sense to not let him talk anymore. I'd be dissapointed if he hasn't held a world title in the next 18 months. Christ, he might even get a quick run between Wrestlemania and Summerslam the way he's getting pushed at the moment. |

Dolph will become a real utility man on the back of this push actually. Someone who it is now believed could elevate and challenge for a title when needed, or someone to squash when you want a dominant champion. Someone to carry new talent to a decent match and put them over, before picking up a win, or to pair someone with for an instant heat tag team. Pretty much like The Big Show (but to a lesser extent).

When he first debuted as Dolph Ziggler I didn't like him, now I do. So I'd say his push is working for him.

I'm glad they waited a year to give him the big push. It kept him grounded and not too full of himself. He also can appreciate where he has gotten himself to because he had to work really hard for his first push and even harder for the second one. He didn't even get the IC Championship in his first major Smackdown push.
He also had to work really hard to get people to forget that he was ever a male cheerleder or was once Kerwin White's Caddy. He hasn't had the easiest time getting to where he is and he should be all the more better for it. He was not some chosen one like Jeff Jarrett. Had he been the top contender to the World Title at this point last year I think he would have flamed out like other former one-off title contenders. |

I think it has been a GOOD JOB by the WWE. I never expected Ziggler or NICKY! to become a good, over, serious competitor and thought the gimmick would last for a couple of weeks or a month and he would be sent to OVW/FCW, but boy am I surprised.
Ziggler has turned from a ha ha joke to a SERIOUS contender in the WWE and has proven that he has what it takes to be an upper carder and maybe one day even a main eventer if he develops more character and skill. I especially like his sleeper hold, thats mad old school. At first I hated the name and the gimmick but Ziggler won my heart with his awesome ring work. I hope good things continue for Dolph in the future. |

Ziggler is the goods, no doubt...and I disagree with the idea that the WWE isn't behind him. Sticking him with Vicki, a heat machine, is a sign that they want him to get over for the long haul. I think the push is working, and while he's got a long way to go, he's one MITB win away from being a legit main event threat.
My concern, as others have mentioned, is Vicki though. For him to be a true heel main eventer, he'll have to get over without her segwaying his entrance every time. We saw that he can get the crowd to turn against him at the Rumble, as that match was red hot. Now he needs to do that on the stick. |

It's working somewhat but he's gonna need to lose Vickie sooner or later...

Yeah, there really is no way of knowing how good Ziggy can be without him losing Vickie. Right now he lets her do most of the talking, and she is a heat machine. The thing is, he needs to work on transferring that hear over to himself.
Or generating it himself when they are split up. Though, when they split, I could easily see Ziggler going face, which is another matter entirely. |

Dolph Ziggler may not have the size or the big push that say Sheamus, Wade Barrett or Alberto Del Rio have had, but he's entertaining to watch and he'll be a big star in the future. He has it and has talent and, unless he messes up by doing drugs or gaining a big ego, you just can't stop talent.

From male cheerleader to introducing himself to everyone, Dolph has come a long way and there is no doubt that he is an amazing worker. In my opinion, his current push is definitely successful.
And as far as improvement is concerned, every superstar needs to evolve as a character and a wrestler. Maybe a non flashy/sober finishing maneuver might help him a bit. |

It's been more successful than I had expected it to be considering how long he was held down before he won the IC Champion in a way I feel it's a little too soon and I still feel he should change his last name heck even his real one would be fine bottom line is I just can't take him seriously because of it.

Has anyone answered "more successful than Kenny Dykstra's push"?
That's my answer. |

I think it depends how the split from Vickie is handled and how he copes after it, so far id say its a success though.

His push has been good so far and WWE's been giving him this push as a test for future main event pushes. The feud with Edge occurred a bit too late for him to have a chance at being champion, especially with Del Rio winning the Rumble.
He's already proven he can do good promos regardless of Vickie but like others said, his true test will be once his time with Vickie is over or WWE focuses on him as the heat generator rather than using the "Excuse Me" line. |
