Game Killing Glitches
Was playing COD: World at War and suddenly during the cut-scene before a level I was transported back to the main menu. Okay...I reloaded the saved game and was forced to finish the previous mission. Then I skip the cut-scene and get into the game. 5 seconds later I'm transported back to the main menu again...

Please discuss game killing glitches in here. Any games that are downright broken?

Had it happen on two Lego games, stuck at 85-90% on both of them because a door wont open or a chest wont show as being collected.

Was like halfway through KotoR 1 once when it auto-saved before a cutscene where I talked to a guy.. and midway through his conversation the game would just lock up. No matter what. Every single fucking time. Didn't matter what speech options I chose or anything, and it would force me into the conversation every time I loaded.

The stupid autosave saved over my main save too so I pretty much had to start the damn game over.

I mentioned one of my most annoying glitches in SVR 2011 in that thread but, the fact that I was way better at the game than I was supposed to be turned CM Punk into an unpinnable no-selling monster.

Come on, Jack Swagger tries a run-in during a no dq match and I'm not supposed to beat him up on the ramp? Fuck that!

Metroid Other M had a glitch that made it impossible to finish the game based on a certain door becoming locked if you saved at a spot close to it.

No way to unlock the door but if you didn't save at a certain point, the door never locks. I believe it was a regular door so it wasn't like those special doors that require a missile or special beam to open.

NBA Live 10 has this weird glitch where after the computer calls a time out sometimes the game doesn't actually start back up. The camera zooms in on a spot on the sideline or on one of the coach's legs and just stays there. The game doesn't freeze, it just doesn't ever come out of timeout.

Saints Row on xbox 360. I was maybe 10 hours in and game would not recognize the save file and restarted me at the beginning. I gave up after that.

Mass Effect on xbox 360. One of those missions where you get out of the planet rover and scout the moon and I got stuck on a rock. Literally couldnt move at all and it was one of those planets with toxic gas or radiation too. I didnt save regularly enough and had to restart and undo several hours of work.

NHL2K9

Played 82 game season mode, made 12 more playoff games....then freezes before starting the Stanley Cup final. Only after putting all the time in did I find out this was a known glitch.

That'll learn me for spending 6 dollars at the used bins at EB Games.

Epic Mickey, there's a door that sometimes will fling you up high in the sky and continually drop you to your death. Haven't seen this bug since playing Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Wait too long between file saves? Due to a missing or erroneous piece of code, the game cuts out completely and if/when you decide to restart and load your last save, you get an error that says something like “Your disc may be dirty or damaged.” or something like that, and it tells you to clean the disc and try again, only what has actually happened is you waited to long between saves and you are screwed and must start ALL OVER again.

Pretty much all the glitches in Fallout New Vegas made me stop playing it. I got tired of the game crashing, or a companion disappearing which kept me from completing a task.

RAW 2 was pretty fun except for the occasional "stomp the every loving fuck out of your for all of eternity" glitch.

NCAA Football 13 has gotten a brutal freeze-up glitch since the last update. It freezes up on a lot of the in-depth animations and you can't turn them off.

Can't finish the original Halo on my Xbox 360 because for some strange reason it can't load the Guilty Spark level. Its not because of disc scratches because it doesn't have any (or at least bad ones).


Had a bunch of glitches occur with Saints Row 2 but the worst was a sound glitch when either a helicopter or car exploded and than sank into the ground. Kept giving off a high pitched sound regardless of how far away i was from the spot.

Hybrid Heaven on N64. Can't finish the game because my character won't pick up a key card to advance to the next room.

Not sure if it's on my ROM file or in the actual game (been a while since I've played on console).

Braid on XBLA had a glitch for me that crashed the game every time. It was just in a certain level at a certain point. Not gone back to the game since.
