IYO: Which match should go last at Wrestlemania XXVII
In Your Opinion: Which match should go last at this year's Wrestlemania.
A lot of dirt sheets are claiming that the Undertaker versus Triple H match shall go last on the event but quite honestly, the match doesn't have a solid build up when compared to last year's Streak versus Career match or even the Sheamus versus Triple H match (at Wrestlemania 26). In my humble opinion, the WWE Championship match deserves to go last considering the fact that it features WWE's latest Wrestlemania icon - John Cena, an uprising heel who is suppose to be the future of the company - The Miz and the possiblity of the Rock playing an important role in the match. Post your views and suggestions ![]() Poll coming up. |

Never really cared who goes on last and I'm not going to start now.
Hope Snooki does though just to see the explosion of venom on the forums. |

Cole vs. Lawler.
Best feud going on in the WWE today hands down. It won't go last, but it should. |

For the sake of purity and kayfabe, I'd go with Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio (vs. Christian) last. I always like it when the Royal Rumble Winner closes the show. Plus, it would be good for not only SmackDown!, but it would also fuel off them being the "superior brand" after Bragging Rights.
It would also give Del Rio (and Christian) a bit of a rub. If Del Rio wins, his moment has more weight because it was his destiny to headline and win at WrestleMania. That loses impact in the middle of the show, in my opinion. The Miz vs. John Cena is the more realistic choice to main event, but I don't have the heart to pick it. While I'm sure it will have the happy ending of Cena walking out WWE Champion and The Rock being involved, WrestleMania shouldn't know that is going to happen, if you get what I mean? The Undertaker vs. Triple H, as classically as this feud has been built up, just should not close, in my opinion. They should have a high spot, no doubt -- perhaps even more than one of the World Title matches, but I just don't think that they should close the show with it. I have a feeling that this match is going to be a classic -- but it feels sort of disconnected from the rest of the show, and I have a feeling that both guys aren't exactly going to be focused players from this point forward. I'd much rather see them have their match third last, or something, with The Undertaker winning, The Corre coming out and destroying both men as they show respect to each other -- and that way new stars are made and a classic match is had. |

Always like to predict how the match order will go. So far I'm predicting it to be...
1: Mysterio vs Rhodes 2: 6 person intergender tag match (get it out of the way) 3: Bryan vs Sheamus 4: If they end up doing it, Corre vs whoever 5: Lawler vs Cole 6: Punk vs Orton 7: World Heavyweight Champoinship 8: WWE Championship 9: HHH vs Taker Of course I still feel WHC could and should be last. Also, maybe they'll throw in another diva match in somewhere. |

HHH vs. Taker. Yeah, I know, but none of the others screams Mania main event. Miz will probably retain somehow, and wouldn't be surprised to see Del Rio winning.

Just a follow-up thought, if Christian gets into the match, it wouldn't be beyond speculation to think that he might actually come out with the title. Look at all the guys WWE has been giving shots to...and they tend to give token title runs to guys who've been around for a long time. Christian broke through in the WWE, and was with the company for a long, long time, finally went to TNA after a long time of not alot happening for him, become the world champion and had a great run.
WWE did a similar thing for Eddie and Benoit...guys who'd been around a long time and did alot of good for the company. Kane got a "thank you" title win not that long ago...and if winning the title at Mania doesn't break Christian the rest of the way through I have no idea what would. Sets up a big Edge/Christian feud I know alot of people have been wanting for a long time as well. That being said, they seem to be going Del Rio crazy lately, so who knows. You can still have an Edge/Christian feud without the belt, but who would be next to step up and work a program with him? |

Cena/Miz.....
I don't think that HHH/Taker can touch the HBK/Taker match quality from previous years that would be worth going on last..... |

I thought it was a 1 time deal...and if he was back, I'd removed Mr. Mayo and have him feud w/ Daniel Bryan for the title. Give them a good 20-25 mins for the title, whether its an opener match to start off WM or right in the middle of the show. I would add Mr Mayo for a Triple Threat against Taker and HHH.

Normally I'd say the WWE or World Heavyweight Title match (depending on whichever has the "bigger" names in it)...but at this point Taker's Streak is kind of it's own title and has become such a WM staple. I'd let Taker go on last two more years at least, vs. HHH this year and vs. somebody huge next year with 20-0 at stake (Cena I'd hope).
If on the offchance he hangs around longer than 20-0 (dirt sheets say he probably could work WM for years to come if he makes it his only match of the year), I'd probably switch it up. He'd probably run out of top-tier, main-event caliber guys to face by the time he goes for 21. |

Here is how I would structure the WrestleMania card:
1. Opening Match: Evan Bourne vs. Drew McIntyre Yeah, this won't happen at WrestleMania, but I figure that this would be a nice little opener to get the crowd pumped. I mean, the WWE doesn't exactly have anything really screaming opener this year. They're all personal issues that deserve some sort of hype video. The closest I can get is The Corre vs. Big Show, Kane & Kofi Kingston or Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio. Bourne goes over with the Air Bourne in what would be a pretty decent match pitting a babyface against a heel. Bourne can leave with Kelly Kelly afterwards, which can piss off McIntyre. 2. The Corre vs. Big Show, Kane & Kofi Kingston Ezekiel Jackson is in the corner of Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater in this match. With his help, The Corre manage to overcome two former World Champions and one of SmackDown!'s rising stars. I hope we see a video putting over the large impact Wade Barrett has made since June of last year. 3. Sheamus (c) vs. Daniel Bryan for the United States Championship I think this is a great place for this match. Not too early on the card, but not too late that it pushes down main event matches. Prior to this match we see Bryan walking to the ring through an aisle of Divas later to compete in a Battle Royal for the Divas Championship, wishing him luck -- with Ron Simmons standing at the end..."DAMN!" Bryan makes Sheamus submit to win back his United States Title. 4. Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes These two will hopefully have a great match, and although Rhodes is a bright star with tons of potential, who has found a winning gimmick, Rey Mysterio does move a lot of merchandise and this is WrestleMania. Rey wins after smashing Cody in the face with a knee brace and hitting a Springboard Splash. 5. Randy Orton vs. CM Punk These two could have a surprisingly good match, and it could even be the sleeper of the night. Orton wins because he is the babyface and Punk is meant to get beaten. The real question is whether or not Punk takes a punt? 6. Battle Royal for the WWE Divas Championship This would be a bit of a buffer between the grudge matches and the main event portion of the show. Eve Torres defends her title against every single Diva in the WWE, because they love getting the girls on the show. Oh, and this might be a good time to debut Amazing Kong. She could end up being a real special attraction for the WWE, and having her show up and eliminate half the girls in the match would be an...amazing way to debut her. 7. The Miz (c) vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship This seems an early place to put this, but I think it would just go with the natural flow for the show. As much as I think it would be best creatively, and for long term business, for The Miz to retain here, I think Cena wins the WWE Title. Perhaps they could re-use the Stone Cold/Bret Hart finish, and have Cena lock in the STF, with The Miz refusing to tap his WWE Title away, leading to Cena being declared the new champion, but The Miz proving a lot to people. I don't think Cena takes a Rock Bottom here, but rather, Cena one-ups Rock and gives him an Attitude Adjustment. 8. Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole After throwing a hissy fit about The Miz losing the WWE Title, Michael Cole swears he is going to use it as fuel to beat Lawler. He goes to the back, we get the Hall of Famers coming out, and then Michael Cole comes out to his own titantron with Jack Swagger in tow, hopefully getting huge heel heat after being introduced after we just saw legends like Shawn Michaels, The Road Warriors...and Drew Carey. As much as I would love Swagger to trump all here -- he tries to get involved and eats a Stone Cold Stunner, and Cole gets the same before he eats a Piledriver for the finish. Jim Ross joins the commentary team for this match and after. 9. The Undertaker vs. Triple H Putting this after Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler is the best time, in my opinion, because it's not going to put too much pressure on this match to perform quality-wise. Cole/King will all be fun and games, while this is serious business. The Undertaker wins -- perhaps with the Hell's Gate submission hold, and after the match Triple H shows The Undertaker respect. The two could even hug or something -- giving more depth to The Undertaker -- only for the earlier victorious Corre to attack and leave both future Hall of Famers lying. An audacious suggestion, but perhaps even Shawn Michaels could run to the ring and get beaten down by The Corre, just to put them that little bit more over? 10. John Morrison, Trish Stratus & Snooki vs. Dolph Ziggler & LayCool This is probably a Kiss of Death spot, but I think they'll want to put Snooki high up on the card, and this could almost serve as a cooler. It could also further test Morrison and Ziggler. The attention this match will probably be more clips of its own and not so much in context to an entire show, anyway. Morrison, Stratus & Snooki win, if you have any doubts about it. I also suspect that Snooki will get the pin on Layla, causing LayCool to argue after the match, which leads to the two imploding and going at it, to a larger pop than most people would expect. 11. Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship The Royal Rumble winner gets his main event spotlight, Christian gets his opportunity to close a WrestleMania -- win, lose or draw -- and we hopefully get a really great match. Possibly another sleeper of the night, because I think people are expecting something good, but not something classic. As much as I would mark out for Christian winning the title, I think the WWE sees money in Del Rio as an international success, and he wins the title to continue his push, with Edge submitting, and thus leading to Edge wanting a rematch, and Christian claiming he was never defeated in the match. Cena/Miz with Rock is the main event to me.
The Rumble winner main eventing is moot. It's just no longer the rule, and we have to accept that. As long as it's billed as a main event, it's fine with me. And Del Rio/Edge is NOT a top main event to me. Triple H/Taker going on last is a bit iffy to me. I haven't really given a shit about the build until the video they did on RAW. But no one can deny it's a huge match, and if you didn't have Rock involved with Cena/Miz, it would easily be the top match on the card. Cena/Miz is really it. Not only do you have Rock involved, which is a huge factor, but it's going to be the match that defines The Miz and solidifies him at the top, along side names like Orton and Cena. Even if Miz loses, he's going to get an enormous rub off the whole thing. I think, though, that if Triple H/Taker is the main event, that they've booked both heels walking out with the titles, and want Mania to end on a high note for fans. I do feel that this match going on last really lends credence to that possibility. With all this said, Cole/Lawler has been the absolutely best booked feud going into Mania this year. It's actually amazing how over the match is. Months ago I didn't want to see it at all, but now it's easily a top three match for me. Which says a lot, negatively, towards the rest of the card's build. It's over as hell, and I'll tell you why. It's an old school |

Either one of the two title matches, particularly John Cena vs. The Miz if the Rock is going to be involved. The World Title match being last wouldn't bother me. I am still hoping that Christian is getting added to the title match. it definitely will improve the quality of the match. HHH vs. Taker going last wouldn't bother me either. King vs. Cole is a great storyline, but I have no interest in seeing that main event the biggest show of the year. Two announcers main eventing doesn't scream biggest show of the year.

Cena/Miz with Rock involved should be last I think but I'm afraid this half-assed HHH-Taker match will be. As many have said the best built feud is Cole-Lawler but they won't be on last for obvious reasons.
Edge-Del Rio will be somewhere in the middle of the card like Edge-Jericho was last year when Edge won the Rumble. |

just one asshole's opinion but how in the blue fuck do you close your biggest event without a title match?? signs point to H v. taker to close the show which pretty much shits on both titles. not to mention the hype for this match isnt good, it has already happened, you know the winner already, and H is no HBK.
can't close with del rio v. Edge as we all pretty much know xtian screws edge out of the title and that leads to speculation/ build through the remaining matches and won't be the image they want the fans going home with cena is also a lock to win so theres your main event. cena closes mania with the gold AGAIN. rock raising cenas hand |

They closed last years Wrestlemania with a non-title match and it was absolutely the correct decision.
Furthermore, there were other years in which a non-title match should have closed. Wretslemania 18 and Wrestlemania 25 immediately come to mind. The title matches were fine, but the suffered because they had to follow massive matches and the crowd just didn't care anymore. That's wrestling. It has nothing to do with shitting on the world title. Even the participants in those matches will admit they shouldn't have been going on last. No matter how prestigious or well booked a title is, some things trump it and a confrontation like Rock/Hogan or Shawn/Taker is on that level. I would argue that The Undertaker's streak is at a point where it's not only way more meaningful than any current title, but perhaps more than any title ever. That's just where it's at. Triple H/Taker isn't as big to me as those other matches, though. I think Cena/Miz/Rock is the main event. But I certainly don't think having Taker's match against someone the caliber of HHH close the show is shitting on anything. |

Wrestlemania is the big one...it's supposed to be THE payoff, not a setup for other PPVs. I can't see the show closing with Del Rio's music playing. I can't see the show closing with Miz's music playing. I CAN see the show closing with Taker or Cena's music playing. Christian dark horse.

Lawler vs Cole has had the best build, Cody vs Rey has me the most interested, Bryan vs Sheamus will likely be the best match.
It's going to be Cena vs Miz featuring The Rock though, nothing else makes sense going on last. HBK vs Taker had to go on last because the crowd would have blown their wad and gone to sleep for whatever followed, the HHH match just isn't on that level where it HAS to be last. |

Cena vs Miz due to The Rock being the big guest for the event and everyone waiting to see what will happen between the Rock-Cena and Rock-Miz.
Cena vs Miz ending is going to depend on what occurs with Del Rio vs Edge since I doubt the WWE is going to have 2 heel champions without some sort of happy feeling for the event. The hype for Undertaker vs Triple H is lacking too much for it to be the last match and Del Rio vs Edge isn't as strong in recent weeks as Miz vs Cena feud buildup. |

I voted for Miz vs Cena, so the fans can go home happy if Cena wins the belt (hope not) or The Rock attacks the Miz if he retains.
I would love to see Lawler vs Cole as the main event, that would be well funny. |

i'd want taker/trips to end it. that's just me being a taker fan.
though tbh i see either title match ending it, moreso cena/miz. cena will win the title back (not that i wanna see that yet again), and mania will end with cena's fruity pebbled mug as the last thing we see. /sad |

Taker/HHH no doubt no doubt.
While other matches have build up there is a ton of excitement for this match because its a rematch of one of the greatest matches in wwe history facing taker's biggest threat to the streak EVER. Its just two huge huge icons. While Cena and Miz and Edge are all mai eveners, they aint icons like Taker and HHH are. So I think the show should close with this two collossuses meeting up for the first rematch since their epic X-7 match. imo |

Seriously hope that it is not Taker/HHH. Even with it being "two megastars colliding", the build-up has been so lackluster that it just doesn't "feel" like it should close Mania.
