Trading In Your Old Games
What kind of mentally handicapped ass-faggot do you have to be, in order to willingly trade in your games?

I will if its like last years copy of a game (MW2 and NHL 08)
Otherwise, the whole I dont play it anymore thing is brought up sometimes. then you miss the game as soon as you sell it. |

I can understand sports games that are updated every year, but that's my limit.

If I play a game and it's 7 hours long with basically no reason to ever visit it again, I trade it in. Quality games, or at least titles that can hold my attention for longer than 2 days, I will hang on to.
Plus, I only have so much shelf space. |

If I feel like I've got the most out of a game then I will trade it in, makes economical sense.

Usually you get a pretty shitty return on used games...
Better to sell them on craigslist. |

Why would someone want to have a stack of old unplayed games that just take up space? Sometimes I regret certain games but most of time I'm happy to get rid of it for a discount on a newer game. I only keep certain games depending on the franchise and system.
I gave away all my old SNES stuff and sold like 90 percent of my ps1 games and I could get rid of more ps2 games since I won't care about 90 percent of them with new games coming out.... If I never sold my games I would have like 200 or more games and about 150 of them would be useless dust collecters. Getting 5 or 10 dollars is better than crap taking up space. |

I rather get 5 bucks than just have a bunch of old cases take up space from newer games I will get. I honestly rarely play a game twice so unless I value that franchise, chances are I just rather get a few bucks for it or destroy it and throw it out. |

I do it when I want to clear some space of games I know I don't care about getting rid of or to help take off some of the price towards a another game.
I've regretted trading away a few games in the past but its pretty easy to buy them back online for decent prices or to wait until Gamestop drops the price of a game and get it cheaper used. |

Glad that people DO trade in games they are done with. I'd be out of business if they didn't.

I didn't do it before because of the shitty return. Just didn't bother. But since I've gotten Goozex I'm cool with it. 90% of games I trade I haven't played in years. And if I have, I just didn't like them enough to keep them. And since I'm more interested in games that tend to be 300-400 points for the most part, I can get really great games for a few shitty games (or one mediocre game).
I make it a point to keep my favorites, even if I'll never play them again. Also have all the wrestling games I've ever owned, and I won't be trading them. |

EB Games (Gamestop in Canada... even though there are Gamestop stores too) give you shitty trade in values and sell most games for $5 less than new. It's a complete fucking rip off most of the time, but I still trade in games I won't miss. I've traded in quite a few DS games over the years, but my collection is still pretty large.
I have quite a few options for trading in games near my house, but EB still gives me the most credit. I've bought games off Craigslist type sites for Ottawa, but haven't really spent much time selling games |

There's *certain* games that I would rather not trade, but there are more that I would be because I don't miss them.... I mean Ultimate Spider-Man for PS2 was great, but I wasn't gonna hook up my PS2 just to play it when I have Shattered Dimensions on PS3, so I traded it in. And since 'Deadpool' is in it and the game was better than Web Of Shadows, I'm holding on to it. Like with Dragon Age 1, I played for like 15 hours, couldn't care about the characters or stories, traded it. I swear If I didn't give away or trade my old stuff, I'd need a room for everything. I think of it this way "yeah, I payed so and so for it, but that was then- I had fun. But this is now, that money is gone and this object served it's purpose, let me milk something out of it rather than let it allow me to waste space just because I like looking at the spine art" I understand that having a huge library of entertainment and a room for each outlet wold be great- a room for DVD's and box sets, a room for CD's, a room for comics and books, a room for paintings, a room for kinky sex, a room for videogames and 4 systems with 4 TV's in that room is ideal (wishful thinking on my part) but I forgot what I wanted to type when I first started this paragraph. |

I still have all my Sega Mega Drive games. I just don't seem able to part with them, even though I haven't played them in years.
Pulled out my PS2 recently and started rocking NHL 2004 again, and traded Gaborik, even though he has racked up more goals and points than Gretsky on my dynasty. |

My buddy just got Homefront on Tuesday. He traded it in yesterday. According to him, it's Call of Duty Light and he finished it in 2 days and the multiplayer is only ok. That's what I'm talking about. He did get $40 trade in for it though, so not like he's not going to get Crysis 2 hella cheap.
I am playing Oblivion these days, so all my recent purchases aren't getting touched for 20 years. |
