Paul Heyman in the HOF?

So, I just finished watching Rise and Fall of ECW DVD. Hadn't seen it in a while, and after a few drinks felt like watching something to get my mind off the work week.

I think there is no doubting the creative genius and wrestling mind of Paul Heyman. Sure he was a poor businessman when it came to ECW, but his creative contributions to the wrestling business as a promoter/writer/producer/booker I think are up there with the best of them.

I feel like his contributions definitely earn him a spot and recognition in the HOF. So, what do you guys think? Will we ever see Heyman in the WWE HOF?

Heyman didnt leave on bad terms, at least not on his end from his interviews, so i think he will at some point. If not for ECW then maybe for his run as a manager in the 80s/90s.

The WWE should wait until Lesnar is done in UFC which should be in 3 or 4 years at which point I think Lesnar will make a small run in the WWE.

Lesnar should be the one to induct Heyman into the HOF. Lesnar credits Heyman with a lot of his success both in the WWE and in UFC and through that he's become perhaps the second biggest name former professional wrestler behind only Rock.

I know there are A LOT of former ECW guys who could induct him but it really should be Brock (in my opinion).

He was a creative genius because in the words of Sandman Paul used to gauge what the crowed liked and if something stuck with the crowd he ran with it.

Paul was never afraid to take chances, to find the next big thing and often he did because of his care free and supportive attitude at least in terms of creative. He was a poor business man and a poor boss yet the ECW guys still loved him like a father.

I think he created something very special with ECW and the crowd reactions they used to get as well as the tribute shows and how well they are received is proof of that. The fans give their thanks to Paul and the ECW guys for creating something special and memorable they probably changed the course of wrestling and how it was portrayed on tv in a big way if you think about it. ECW was like a testing ground for new innovative concepts to me whether that was gimmicks, match types or production.

Would I like to see him in the HOF? I don't know if Paul wanted it and never seen himself in WWE again then yes, if he ever planned to return then no I would wait until he's completely retired.

Why do they need to wait for Brock to finish with the UFC to have him induct Paul? As long as Lesnar doesn't wrestle a match I don't think Dana White would have a problem with Brock standing at a podium and saying Heyman's name.

You are right I don't think Dana White would mind as long as Brock doesn't wrestle. I even think he'd be cool with Brock being a guest referee or manager it's just the physical harm that can be caused in a regular match that worries him at least that's the impression I get from interviews and such. I still believe Brock would jump at the chance if given the right opportunity and it came at the right time, he's till young so plenty of time for that.

I think its going to take a long while for Brock to appear in WWE again. He is a legend in MMA and he still has to retake his crown and I believe Brock will be on top of the MMA world again because he is one of the greatest the sport has ever seen. I dont really see a reason for Brock to come to the WWE but he prolly will cause Vince will offer him mad cash to do so.

Brock a legend in MMA? I don't think so dude. Most people think that he was given a title shot before he deserved it and his record is in no way legendary. He has huge holes in his MMA skill shot which could be corrected if he trained in a decent camp.

LOL do you make it your mission to some how talk about the indies in every thread everywhere, ECW was more than just some indy promotion,. for fuck sakes it got air time on WWF Raw for a bit, and ended up with monthly PPVs and eventually a national TV contract.

Not to mention Heyman brought Benoit, Jericho, Guerrero, Rey Jr, Taz, RVD, Dean Malenko, Raven, the Dudley Boyz to a North American mainstream audience. Also inspired the WWF attitude era and the Cuiserweight division in WCW

Not to mention he was also an accomplished manager in both WCW and WWE and a pretty good commentator too

Are you fucking retarded? It has nothing to do with the physicality of pro wrestling, Dana doesn't want Brock near WWE because it hurts his credibility with MMA fans. Most of the UFC fans think that the WWE is a joke, and I'm starting to think the same. All they would do is shit on Brock for going back to the fake stuff because he couldn't handle the big time.

Dana isn't worried if Brock gets hurt, he is just scared for his Heavyweight division image.

Oh, and yes, Heyman should go into the Hall.

Will he, not sure, because it really isn't a real Hall Of Fame, it's Vince's little club, and if Vince doesn't like you, your not going in, (see: Macho Man)

Um, that would quite possibly be the dumbest thing Dana White of any MMA promoter could do. It would completely take away the realize of the MMA matches and make it look staged like we all know pro wrestling is.

Unless you didn't know that, in which case, go back to waiting for the easter bunny.

since mma fans know wrestling is fake and mma is not whats the problem, i think you think wrestling is real or you think mma is fake. most fans above the age 10 know the 2 apart.

No sport will co promote with any pro wrestling company (well, maybe in japan), because its two things that have fuck all to do with each other. But on the other hand fuck it why not have a few boxing matches to start the card, then a pro wrestling match followed by a mma fight topped off with a football game.

Cunt.
