So, Money in the Bank

Money in the Bank is next month.

At this point, who do you see winning? How long do they hold it for? Do they win? Discuss Money in the Bank 2011 in general in here.

I'm seeing Del Rio winning the RAW MITB, and cashing in at SummerSlam.

SmackDown! will be interesting. I could see Christian winning it if he loses at Capitol Punishment, but it'd make sense for him to cash in at SummerSlam or earlier. I'm figuring the SD one will be held onto for a few months at least. Could also be the first loser in MITB history (Not Christian, the SD MITB winner).

Wade Barrett is about 7 months overdue for a world title, so I'd say let him win a briefcase and spend a few months building him back up to main event level.

Over on Raw... I'm feeling Ziggler.

Smackdown is pretty wide open right now but it would make sense to give it to Christian. Sheamus, Cody and Wade are interesting choices and there's even a slight chance of a left field Daniel Bryan win happening with the way he's being pushed over there, though I would see Bryan going the "honourable" route and losing like he did on NXT.

Raw should go to a heel, and I would probably have them hold onto it until Elimination Chamber where they can cash it in on Cena and steal some of the shine off his match against The Rock. Punk would be perfect for this if they can get him to sign a new contract.

Sin Cara maybe?

He was just a random name that came into my head just a second ago. But he could win, and possibly hold on to the MitB until any time after WrestleMania and either win or lose the title match. By then, maybe more people will be interested in him. I still get the feeling nobody really cares about Sin Cara yet.

Another idea I've just thought of right now is someone cashing in at WrestleMania. Maybe even have the MitB winner cashing in and winning after The Rock becomes WWE Champion. That would be pretty surprising to see and it would make that person an instant star.

WrestleMania moment right there.

I pick Del Rio for Raw. Creative gotta get him back into the title picture. He won the Rumble, was supposed to win at 'Mania if I'm not mistaken, and should have won that 3 way on Raw for #1 contendership. Pretty much fell out of the picture with this mini feud he got going on with Big Show right now.

FFS, the guy was in the main event picture for 6 months. It is ok to give it break.

For SMACKDOWN! I would pick Ezekiel Jackson to be a huge contender by the time MITB comes around. Do I think he will actually win MITB?? No. I believe Sin Cara is in need of this victory. WWE is pushing the hell out of this guy because he is dub as HHH's first project. He needs to be in the title hunt for a little bit. Maybe have him lose to the champ. Then strap the Intercontinental Championship around his waist.

Alex Riley gonna win just so he has an excuse to carry a briefcase around. Eventually the angle will end when he forgets that there is actually a contract in the case, and he wasn't carrying it "just because".

Not sure who wins but I predict these for the Money in the Bank matches

Raw: The Miz vs Alex Riley vs Kofi Kingston vs Alberto Del Rio vs Big Show vs Evan Bourne vs Jack Swagger vs Dolph Ziggler

SD!: Kane vs Sheamus vs Cody Rhodes vs Daniel Bryan vs Ezekiel Jackson vs Wade Barrett vs Sin Cara vs Jinder Mahal (as a wildcard)

I wouldn't be surprised to see The Miz win again. Once the Riley thing is over, he doesn't really have anything out there for him.

Here are my picks in order of who I think has the best chance of winning.

Raw
1. The Miz
2. Dolph Ziggler
3. Kofi Kingston
4. CM Punk
5. Alberto Del Rio

SmackDown
1. Wade Barrett
2. Cody Rhodes
3. Christian
4. Sheamus
5. Kane

This won't happen but I wanna see Zack Ryder get in the MITB as a wildcard and then shocks everyone by winning.

Yea, and then he starts getting challenged by the lower-mid carders for the briefcase and beats them all. On his Z True Long Island Story he teases about when he'll cash it in all while starting to gradually get pushed through the upper card and beating McIntyre, some Nexus members, maybe even Swagger. Eventually Ryder wins the US Title and holds that for a bit and keeps the briefcase past 2011 while Cena feuds with various people.

Fast forward to Mania 28. Cena/Rock, the match we all wanted to see for a year now. Cena is sadly still the champ. Rocky puts up his best efforts but somehow Cena pulls off the odds with the 5 moves of doom and sadly is victorious over Rocky, but he's worn out and ready to pass out. Suddenly we hear...

Ryder cashes in, beats Cena and is the WWE Champ! Cena is furious by this, as he and Ryder made a secret pact that Cena would support him as long as he stayed out of Cena's personal affairs, turns heel and Ryder gains the "superman" type push Cena had and feuds with him and others for the belt.

I know it'd never happen in a million years but eh.

Is anybody ever going to fail to cash it in? Or is it such a good talking point that whoever wins becomes a champion that they will never stop it?

I think it's time also that Wade Barrett dropped the IC Title and get his push after losing the secondary title (Austin in 97-98, Randy Orton in '04 and Dolph Ziggler in '10.) He needs to make Zeke look like a million bucks and then blow right past him.

Cena/Del Rio is what I've heard for Summerslam. Alberto seems cocky enough to cash in the briefcase in an actual match. I'd say he wins the Raw brand. He hasn't been in a Raw Main event feud yet and it's about time once he finishes up with the Big Slow.

I still maintain it makes NO sense whatsoever for the winner of Money in the Bank to lose. They get to pick the time, place and such for their title match. If your MITB winner is not ready to win MITB -- don't give them the title shot over someone who is, you know? It's like giving Mabel the King of the Ring. Use it to push someone who is ready -- and by having them choke you just show that they aren't.

The only way I can see a Money in the Bank Winner losing in their title opportunity, is if they use it to turn heel. They announce their title shot ahead of time, and then they lose the match, snap, and suddenly you have them as a heel challenger. Except, why go that route when you can just have the face cash in nefariously, turning heel in the process (or at least teasing a heel turn)? That way, you have a heel champion (which is good for the chase), and you can have them hold onto the belt for ages, or even drop it off to the babyface in the rematch -- either then pulling the trigger on the heel turn, or solidifying it.

Also, when it comes to promoting Money in the Bank, it sounds a lot better to say "every Money in the Bank winner has cashed in the title shot successfully," as opposed to "65% of MITB winners have cashed in their title shots successfully," if you know what I mean? Once is a glorified #1 Contender Match, and the other is sure-fire way of creating a new main event star.

I gotta agree with Alberto Del Rio being a good candidate for the RAW MITB winner. Del Rio's main event star has faded, and while the WWE are high on him, and he can be rebuilt so easily, the WWE could just go easy-street and have Del Rio win the contract. But I dunno -- I can't see Show and Del Rio's issues ending at Capitol Punishment -- so they could cost each other their MITB qualifiers, and then Del Rio beats Big Show in a separate match at MITB -- using that to springboard to the WWE Title scene.

I think CM Punk will be John Cena's next contender (he just pinned Cena), so take Punk out of the running. That means the top guys left on RAW are R-Truth, The Miz, Rey Mysterio, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre and Alex Riley. I probably wouldn't include Riley in MITB just yet. It seems too early, as over as he has gotten. So yeah, my RAW MITB prediction is something like: Dolph Ziggler vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger vs. R-Truth vs. Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz. Out of those guys, I think R-Truth and The Miz are ruled out due to their programs with John Morrison and Alex Riley -- both of which I can see heading towards SummerSlam. I actually think McIntyre will be the US Champion soon, so he won't win. Bourne and Kofi would just be in there to bump. That leaves Swagger, Mysterio or Ziggler. Swagger's won before, and while Mysterio winning would pop the crowd, I don't think the WWE needs him to win it to get him back in the title scene. Therefore, Noid's prediction for RAW MITB winner, carrying it around for months with his valet getting him extra heat, is Dolph Ziggler.

On SmackDown!, I think things are harder to call. My guess is that Orton and Christian face each other again at Money in the Bank -- leaving your top stars on SmackDown! remaining as Sheamus, Kane, Mark Henry, Daniel Bryan, Sin Cara, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson. Not the most attractive Money in the Bank on paper, is it?

Sheamus winning would make logical sense, because Orton would likely regain the title from Christian down the line, and Sheamus can cash it in immediately against Orton -- as payback for the punt. He doesn't need it, though. Ideally, a babyface would win it to elevate them. That means Kane, Bryan, Jackson or Cara. Kane's been there before, and I don't think he goes there again. While Cara is Triple H's pet project, it just doesn't seem right at this time. Sin Cara's still gotta get the WWE style down-pat. It'd be either Jackson or Bryan, in my opinion, and while I think Bryan would be the better overall choice, I just can't see it happening. Jackson wins the blue briefcase, and gets a sudden mega-push into the main event.

Perfect way to turn Sheamus face actually.

For RAW i'd say Kofi Kingston would be a good candidate and Wade Barrett for SD respectively it's time for both of them to make the next leap especially the former.

Think Raw is wide open really at this point. Right now Miz is kind of "above" the MITB, and him winning doesn't really do anything for anyone. If they wanted to give Miz another world title run, he can just as well go over the current champion and be better for it. Del Rio would be a decent pick but for his rumored match with Cena at Summerslam, and Del Rio is way too smarmy to "call his shot" ahead of time against Cena. With the field, I think the person they're most likely behind is Ziggler...he got a main event run on Smackdown, and him holding it for 4-6 months while building himself up as a legit contender would work real well.

As for Smackdown, I think its Christian's case. He'll lose here, and Sheamus will return post Capitol Punishment to feud with Orton going into MITB. Christian wins the case, Orton has a hard fought win, and Christian cashes in that night. Talks about how his title win was just as fair as how Orton stole the title off of him, and he never deserved to lose it in the first place. He's just correcting an injustice, and Orton has no right to be angry, etc. It's just too easy to write for them not to do it.

I went with Ziggler and a babyface on SmackDown!, but the idea of Christian winning it makes perfect sense.

With MITB apparently being in Chicago (if Wolfpack is correct), then I am really hoping they go with John Cena vs. CM Punk as the WWE Title match on the card.

I am hoping CM Punk as it is in Chicago and it might be an indication that he is sticking around. However, somebody does have to eventually lose when they cash in and since he's already done it twice it could be him. I could see Del Rio winning. I hope not as I am not a fan of his at all, but he has had some good matches so I'm not totally against it. I think it's just that I think he's one of the worst promo guys ever and his segments when he isn't wrestling are dreadful. I am hoping for Morrison or Kingston to get the win though.

I see either Kofi or Ziggler winning the RAW MitB.

Del Rio and Punk don't really need the win since Del Rio appears to be next for Cena after the Miz and Punk already won it twice before. Morrison is hurt while I doubt they'd let Rey win the case. R-Truth, Drew McIntyre, Swagger, and Riley seem like potential candidates but they just started their current push or have too many good wrestlers ahead of them for a chance at the title.

For Smackdown, I see either Christian or Sheamus if he turns face eventually winning the case.

Rhodes and Barrett could be surprise winners although Barrett already had 2 quality pushes stopped cold when he lead 2 groups. Too early for a serious push of Zeke since he just recently got his push while no chance for Henry, Kane, or anyone else put in the match.
