Unfortunately theres no Embed for this vid, but Trevor Murdoch has always had the Southern/ Redneck gimmick. I thought it was kinda funny that BDC mentioned Trevor the other day in the Mens Bodies post and on the main page they have an article about him not recieving a WWE contract because of "budget cuts". Do you have any thoughts, opinions, remarks, ideas on Tevor Muchdoch? I thought he was good in the ring with Lance Cade, he's pretty much perfected that gimmick. As far as seeing him back in the WWE, considering they are releasing younger, better shape wrestlers, I dont see a point in bringing him back. I'd like to see a heel Deliverance character (maybe throw in Skippy and make them a tag team) but I also dont see that dark of a gimmick in WWE today

I knew there would be a thread on this guy. Trevor Murdoch had an absolutely horrible look, his gimmick is so tired i wanna cry. If Trevor Murdoch was never seen on a TV screen ever again anywhere i dont think even one person would give a shit. He sucked so so much, i dont even care that he was a decent wrestler, all he was was average at best, he is no loss to WWE, he would be no big deal in TNA and he will never be a big deal in wrestling. The fact that he got onto WWE TV for as long as he did is almost shocking. Think about this - William Regal couldn't get on WWE TV when Trevor Murdoch was flapping around teaching his sideburns to grow, how is that possible?! Fuck Trevor Murdoch. Fuck his gimmick. Actually Fuck rednecks too. Trevor Murdoch gimme a fucking break

I didnt like Cade either, you see one 6'5 + guy do a big boot, you've them all do it. Only reason id react during any of their matches was when Cade tried to copy his mentor's elbow drop. And he couldn't. They were one of the worst, if not the worst tag teams in the post attitude era...era. And that includes La Resistance. Id mention Slater/Gabriel too but Gabriel is excellent.

Murdoch singing was funny in a 'is this actually happening right now' kinda way

Murdoch as a singles wrestler does nothing for me. Cade and Murodch are on my top 5 fav tag teams, but since Cade is dead, I really don't care for Murdoch.

Cade and Murdoch vs. The Hardy Boyz at that one PPV was pretty awesome. Maybe Backlash 2005 or so? That was probably the best work he's ever done.

Remember when he started using the Canadian Destroyer for a minute? I wonder if that was something he wanted to do, or if they were just trying to shit on Petey Williams by showing that ANYBODY could do that move.

I always thought Trevor Murdock was the very definition of overrated. Not only that, but his gimmick is about as streotypical as you can get. Only an Asian cowboy named Jimmy Wang Yang was worse of the top of my head. WWE doesn't need more deadweight, they have enough of that with The Corre(formerly)and The Nexus. I'd say that his version of the Canadian Destroyer is the worse ripoff or bastardizing of a move I've ever seen.

Hire him back? Based on what, his awesome past?

Yeah, that was an awesome mini-feud. The first tag title match between the two was at Backlash '07, and they had a rematch for the titles at Judgment Day '07.

Murdoch's last match on WWE tv (to date). Pretty amazing for a shorter match. I believe it was only a matter of 3 months or so after this match that Lance Cade also made his last appearance with the company.
