Full Impact Spoilers for 07/14/11
From PWInsider:
Here are the spoilers from Monday’s Impact Tapings for the Midsummer’s Nightmare Show that will air on July 14th: Immortal came out in tuxedos for a celebration because Mr. Anderson has joined the group. There was a poker table in the ring. Anderson came out in a camouflage tuxedo. Hogan and Bischoff spent minutes putting over Anderson and vice versa until the lights went out. When the lights came back on in the Impact Wrestling Zone, Sting appeared in the ring sitting in a chair at the poker table. Sting asked Eric Bischoff who he would bet on in the world title match tonight. Sting did more of his Joker gimmick before saying that he had friends with him tonight who would keep Immortal from getting involved. The lights panned to the rafters where four men in clown suits were standing. Sting then flipped the table before the lights went out and Sting vanished. In a Bound For Glory series match, Bobby Roode defeated Samoa Joe and ‘The Pope’ D’Angelo Dinero in a Triple Threat Match with Roode pinning Samoa Joe. Joe had Roode locked in the Kokina Clutch, but Roode flipped over him using the turnbuckles like Bret Hart would do in matches and covered Joe while Roode tapped. Referee Earl Hebner did not see Roode tapping out, which caused Joe to flip out. Three other referees came out to keep Joe away from Earl Hebner. He flipped off the referees as they walked up the ramp. Austin Aries defeated Shannon Moore. Aries used the chain from the book of DILLIGAF while the referee was distracted and then followed up with a slingshot corkscrew splash from the apron to pin Moore. After the match, Alex Shelley came out and stared down Aries before helping Moore to his feet. Tara defeated Madison Rayne. Tara brought back her pet tarantula and frightened Madison with it before hitting her with the Widow's Peak for the win. While holding the tarantula, she chased after Madison to the back. Kurt Angle came out to cut a promo to remind the fans that he won the Number One Contender Match against Jeff Jarrett at Slammiversary. Angle said that he will face the winner of tonight's match between Sting and Mr. Anderson at Hardcore Justice on August 7th. Angle says that he wants to fight Anderson whether it is for the title or not. Angle mentioned their cage match at Lockdown 2010. Angle also mentions how he and Sting have unfinished business dating back to the days of the Main Event Mafia. Angle also mentioned their Empty Arena match on Impact in January of 2009 which he called one of the best matches in Impact history, which neither man won. Angle says that because he has never beaten Sting, he wants the opportunity to do so. Mexican America defeated The British Invasion. Rosita ran out and distracted the referee, causing Hernandez to drop an elbow on Magnus while he had Anarquia for the pin. He then rolled Anarquia onto Magnus for the three count. Sting defeated Mr. Anderson to become a Five Time TNA World Champion. This was Anderson’s first title defense since winning the title at Slammiversary. Both men used each other's finishers at points during the match. Later in the match, referee Brian Hebner was knocked out. Bully Ray came out, while still wearing his tuxedo, and attacked Sting. The lights went out and one of the clowns from earlier was in the ring attacking Anderson and Ray with a baseball bat when the lights came back on. The lights went out again and when the lights came back on, the clown and Ray disappeared. Sting picked up Anderson and hit the Scorpion Death Drop to win the match. As Sting celebrated with the title, the clown was on the stage and unmasked himself to be Kurt Angle. In a match taped for Xplosion, Alex Shelley defeated ‘The Pope’ D’Angelo Dinero in the Xplosion Championship Challenge. At one point during the match, The Pope tried to talk with Devon's kids before Devon came out to stop him. After Shelley pinned Pope, Shelley shook his hand. ![]() Last edited by Xero; 07-12-2011 at 09:20 AM. |

That's pretty surprising. I wish he'd never have lost it personally.

WOW TNA, way to screw Anderson over and not even give him one successful title defense, at least in his first time reign he had one defense before he lost it back to Hardy

Why do I get the feeling that Sting will hold the title until Bound For Glory only to have a match with Hogan for the belt?

Alex Shelley vs Austin Aries should be a good feud.

This without a doubt proves TNA doesn't have a clue of how to utilize their talent. They gain a major name like Ken Anderson and totally screw up each title reign he has had. On top of that, they finally decide to have Anderson join Immortal after months of teasing, only to have him lose the belt. If that doesn't make their top faction look weak, what does? Sting gains nothing from winning the belt, but Anderson looks weak and his title reigns ultimately look like a joke.
Seriously, with such a good talent like Anderson, who can wrestle over 8 minutes, why give the belt to a guy who can't go anymore? |

Obviously because they want Hogan to take the belt off Sting.

Either TNA has absolutely no faith in Anderson or they really do think Sting is the hottest thing they have going right now. The last ONE time Sting held the belt for 129 days. Anderson's two combined reigns total 64 days.

Jeff's first Reign was 91 days, still longer than Andersons two.

I could have booked Hardcore Justice on autopilot:
* Ken Anderson is the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and deserves a good run at the top to establish him as the franchise player in TNA. Kurt Angle is the #1 Contender. You have a rematch of what could have been one of TNA's greatest matches ever for their World Title at the August PPV. * Christopher Daniels respectfully challenges AJ Styles to another match, because he feels that he can beat him. Styles accepts, but Samoa Joe wants in. There's a rematch of another of TNA's greatest matches ever, which was teased for Destination X (so it'd be appropriate to deliver). * Brian Kendrick just won the X-Division Title and allegedly saved the division. Alex Shelley officially became the #1 Contender for the X-Division Title at Destination X. It would make total sense to do a match between the two for the title. * Sting is feuding with Immortal, therefore it would make sense for Hogan and Bischoff to put him up against one of them hired guns -- whether that be Abyss, Bully Ray or even Gunner (who holds a victory over Sting). Hell, if you really want to make it a sob story for Sting -- have Hogan throw all three guys at Sting, with Brother Devon and whoever else promising to be their to back Sting up. Yeah, that'd be crazy, and it's hard to imagine people paying money for that -- but it's also hard to imagine people paying money for this stupid rehash Immortal angle. * Kazarian got a big victory at Destination X, as did Austin Aries -- why not let the two fight in an X-Division match, to build towards the Alex Shelley vs. Austin Aries match they seem to want to do? * Beer Money are still the TNA World Tag Team Champions, right? They need opponents. To be honest, it'd probably make the most sense to have Abyss sent to take out Sting, while Bully Ray & Gunner challenge for the belts. Wait, are Fortune still running together? And are they still feuding with Immortal? * In other tag team action, The British Invasion and Mexican America have been feuding. Don't they deserve a PPV blow-off? * Did Tara ever get her hands on Madison Rayne properly? It seems like they are still somewhat feuding. I read that she's a Knockout Tag Team Champion with Ms. Tessmacher. The belts should probably still be defended. Why not have the face girls defend against Winter & Angelina Love, or something? * For the singles Knockout Title Match, put Mickie James in a Four-Way defense against Velvet Sky, ODB and Jacqueline, since those girls seem to be getting a lot of time. * Since their match got rave reviews, and the talent involved is obviously pretty good, I'd give Low Ki, Zema Ion and Jack Evans another shot. Why not have them team together against the guys who lost the Ultimate X at Destination X -- Robbie E., Shannon Moore & Amazing Red? If the visiting team wins, they will all receive TNA contracts, or something like that. * Finally, since Shelley already has a title shot, D'Angelo Dinero could have won the Xplosion Championship and challenged Eric Young for the TV Title. There's eleven matches, and I haven't even used guys like Rob Van Dam, Matt Morgan or Crimson. Fuck TNA. |

Noid should be booking TNA, he'd clearly do a better job than Russo. Hell, the shit I just took could do a better job than Russo.

I don't even know what half the roster is up to, and I still managed to use them more constructively than Russo.

So why did Immortal spend all that time trying to convince Anderson to join to keep the title away from Sting/Angle if the week after he joins, he looses the belt on his first defense?
I would laugh though if somehow an Immortal vs Sting's clowns becomes an actual stable war. |

So what was the purpose of Immortal spending all that time trying to convince Anderson to join to keep the title away from Sting/Angle if the week after he joins, he looses the belt on his first defense?
Now there is no real reason for Immortal to keep him if he doesn't have the belt besides to pad the group's numbers. I would laugh though if somehow an Immortal vs Sting's clowns becomes an actual stable war. |
