Yeah, this kind of stuff makes me think of my childhood.
Though I think David Lynch forever tainted that to some degree. In a good way. I associate this stuff with the bizarre and surreal now as well. |

Was on a 50s music "kick" for like 2 years And yeah @ what fr said. Not even really related to David Lynch, it all sounds really "eerie" to me, <3 it. |

I have this urge to buy some old western swing albums. I've been listening to Hot Club of Cowtown lately, and I'd like to hear the "real" stuff.

I like me some old school Jazz, dunno if this counts as 'oldies', but I'm talking stuff like Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Miles Davis and Sydney Bechet.
To many musicians these days try to pass themselves off as 'Jazz Musicians' coz it makes them look more sophisicated/open-minded etc, and then when you ask who they like they always say some modern Jazz-Pop bollocks like Jamie Cullum. |

I figured "Oldies" for this crowd would include Christina Aguillera.
But yeah, good chunk of my childhood came up in this thread. The Platters, Dion, Del Shannon, the Drifters.... Also, didn't see them, but I may have scrolled past them. |
