Has the CM Punk storyline made you want to watch MITB?

Has the Punk angle prompted you from not really caring about the PPV to actually wanting to watch it or even order it?

Personally, for me, it has. Yeah I usually watch the PPVs, but I feel this is big enough to actually order, and I will be ordering it. I can't remember the last time I really wanted to order a PPV based specifically on a storyline/match. I usually buy only Mania, Rumble and SummerSlam, but they've really done something special with this Punk angle.

So what about you? Has it got you interested in the PPV? In wrestling in general? Poll to come.

The only PPV's I order or even want to order are WM and sometimes the Rumble. I'm really considering ordering MITB though, which is a true rarity for me.

It doesn't hurt that Christian vs Orton is likely to be good again and the MitB matches are usually pretty fun.

I usually work on Sunday nights and I go a few doors over to the Buffalo Wild Wings to catch when I can when I'm done. This time, I actually gave up my Sunday night shift so I can watch the whole thing at a friend's house.

I don't order PPVs usually, not even WM. This one match though has piqued my interest enough to make me want to watch it immediately and not wait until the next day to DL it.

Murphy's Law says I'm going to hate myself for this, but I'll spend the cash anyway.

I'm really 50/50.

1/2 of me wants to see Punk walk out with the title and Cena get "fired" again.

1/2 of me thinks Punk already got a new deal and Cena wins.

However, I'm really tired of the Orton/Christian storyline. Give Christian the belt and let him run with it and see how it goes, or knock him down a peg and stick him mid-card status and find a new direction for him.

Don't forget that there's also two Money in the Bank ladder matches which usually have a few fun spots.

Not to mention Mark Henry v. The Big Show. That one should be worth the price of admission alone.

I voted no ppv is worth that much, but the closer answer is I would never want to pay for a WWE PPV because no matter how good the card can be, I can't justify paying for a wrestling PPV and I can just stream it or most likely just read the results.

I don't know what I'll be doing Sunday, but I can think of things I'd rather be doing than watching this PPV, so that says it all for me. Watching the PPV on stream would basically be my 'plan c' if other possible plans don't pop up or fall through.

I'd have wanted to watch it in any case, because of the Money in the Bank matches that I want to see.

Punk is just the icing on the cake that has made this "I want to see this gimmick PPV for the gimmick matches" into "THIS IS A HUGE PPV EVENT THAT I HAVE TO SEE"

Why do you even post in the wrestling forum? You clearly have very little interest in the product. Even if you do, nobody here is going to make fun of you for it. Why don't you stick to casual or somewhere thereabouts?

Question for all of my non-American brethren out there...are there public places that show the PPV around you? I can think of probably five or six places within a comfortable driving distance that show all of the WWE PPVs. Most of them are Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooter's, but it could be much worse.

I'm posting here before leaving to work, there's a difference between telling someone "nah I'm not going to go out because I want to watch a PPV" and killing some time before work. It isn't like I hang around here all day doing that, if I do it's more of a now and then pop in than trolling the board all day.

It's not even about time, I just honestly lost a lot of interest in watching/keeping up because I don't really see it as anything too significant.

The CM Punk thing is cool but I don't really care about the other stuff going on and I don't think I ever paid for a WWE PPV either way, never thought it was worth it.

Right, so why do you come to a forum devoted to the discussion of the thing that you don't have any interest in? You act as if this is the only board on the internet pertaining to anything at all.

Not here. It's either watch it at home or at the theater and the theater is like $25-$30 a ticket, I think, so I may as well just stay home and order it.

So why even come to the wrestling forum is what I'm asking? There are plenty of people who post in casual, for instance, who have zero interest in wrestling and zero posts in the wrestling forum.

Obviously you can do whatever you want. I just think it'd be beneficial to all parties involved if you just fucked out of the wrestling forum unless you have something to contribute besides the fact that wrestling isn't a priority of yours. We get it. We don't care. Just saying.

Why not just stick to casual then? Why bother coming into the wrestling forum just to say "nah guys, I've got better things to do than watch wrestling"

That stinks. I kinda like the atmosphere at some of those places. You're surrounded by a bunch of wrestling fans and they usually get pretty rowdy. Most of them are inbred hicks with mullets and "S*CK IT" shirts from 1997, but people-watching can be fun too.

I think the most fun I ever had in a public venue was in Vegas for the 2008 Royal Rumble (that's when Cena came back, right?). At a casino called Sam's Town, they have a huge movie screen with theater seating. They had one dollar beers and one dollar hot dogs. There were raffle tickets and such, and the place was packed. So much fun. When Cena returned, everybody went APESHIT.

I much prefer that kind of thing to watching it alone.

As much as I have never really enjoyed CM Punk or John Cena for that matter, I am actually interested in seeing this match. In no way am I going to pay $50 for it, but I'll probably download or look up the results online for sure. The storyline and angle has me interested for once, and I want to see what will happen next and the conclusion.

Totally agree, and it's for that reason that I've been tempted to go to the theater to watch it. Dunno what the atmosphere would be like there though. I assume people would be loud.

The other problem with going to theaters and that kind of stuff (and this may come off as kinda sad) is that there is no smoking inside and I have to admit, that's a bit of a deal breaker right there. Especially since I like to fire one up before I partake in PPV and that always makes me fiend for nicotine.

PPVS start at 1am UK time, so don't know of anywhere that shows it live.
