Resident Evil 6
Capcom released the logo and confirmed Resident Evil 6 is currently in development during Comic-Con.

The company also announced the official debut and more info regarding the game will arrive during the Tokyo Game Show on September 15 this year.

If the design of the logo is any indication, Resident Evil 6 might be more similar in style to Resident Evil 4 and 5 than past games.

I don't think the logo tells us much. Capcom seemed done with the RE4/5 engine from how they talked about this. I imagine it'll resemble Revelations on 3DS, back to survival horror with more freedom of movement.

Pretty much in the middle of you two.

On one hand, RE doesn't seem like a co-op thing looking at the series as a whole. On the other hand, RE5's co-op was very fun.

Kinda getting tired of Resident Evil, tbh. It used to be great, but now with so many spinoffs and bullshit plot twists, I find the series to be...well, stale. They need some fresh ideas, and a generous infusion of actual horror. In other words, Dead Space ftw.

Used to be really into the RE series before 4, still havent even played RE5 even though I was lent it by a friend about four months ago so I'm not really as excited by this news as I would like to be

If you really wanna get technical, there's never been zombies in RE. Only a virus that at first corroded their brains and bodies, but through development has advanced them to more intelligent beings. Alot of ppl hate 4 and 5, but I think at the time, RE needed more interactive games. Both 4 and 5 had great stories in them and advanced the gameplay more. Not to mention, gave the franchise a different look and feel.

I do admit I loved the actual zombies and mutated creatures in RE1, RE2, RE3, and RE:Code Veronica. And the puzzles featured in them were awesome.

But what I want is a combination of the two game types. Having elements of all the games would be a perfect game to me. RE6 will definately be on my to watch list for the TGS...

Resident Evil Revelations looks like it is bringing that back from the older games.

While I never ended up liking the old tank-style controls, I did love Resident Evil 2 the most in the series before RE 4 came out.

Honestly, unless RE6 introduces new characters the series will never be scary. Chris, Jill, Claire, Leon, Rebecca, Barry, and I guess Sheva are basically superheroes. I don't mind them headlining action games with horror elements.

RE5's co-op was awesome. How could someone hate that? The only thing that sucked was the small split screen.

Playing with a real person however totally negates that and makes it an awesome game which was a blast to play both in co-op story and in mercenaries.

The co-op feature was a cool addition. Having it improved the gameplay, not hurt it. Maybe with the AI it sucked, but with friends it makes the game more awesome.

Gotta say, I didn't enjoy RE5. It felt like a monotonous chore by the end, the story sucked balls and the atmosphere was lacking.

The series could take some lessons from the original Dead Space (and to a lesser extent, the sequel), which had the perfect amount of tension and suspense for a survival-horror game.

RE is like frollicking in a sunny wheatfield after playing Dead Space. Series needs to really crank up the horror if it wants to be as scary as DS. They are more action games than survival horror at this point.

I think the reason RE has fizzled out is b/c they focus more on story and less on horror. The first game had the perfect balance of the two. Of course, nothing ever lives up to the original. Plus, getting away from the zombies and leaning more for infected villiagers isn't a great idea.

Yeah, but kalyx is right about zombies being run into the ground. They were stale for me quite a few years ago.

Resident Evil can't be beat as far as zombie games go. Alot of imitators, but nothing as fun to me as RE...

I didn't enjoy RE:5 (Gear of war edition)

I would still love for them to re-boot RE:1 (again I know!) but as RE:4 gameplay, would love to be back in the mansion with an over the shoulder camera shot

Someone managed to record the teaser trailer for the game at the Tokyo Game Show before Capcom officially shows it off later to the media.



Capcom is claiming RE 6 will be the scariest game in entire the series and possibly the scariest game in the horror/zombie genre for games.

Also someone figured out the coordinates shown means the game takes place in Canada.
