DX Name

so I was watching raw from I think 10 02 97 and Rick Rude China Triple H and HBK were cutting a promo(all came out to HBK music) and kept reffering to themselves (as it seemed) as the klique. He didn't seem to be reffering to the klique as his fans.

The hart foundation came out (short brian pilman cause he died less then 24hours prior at this point) and Bret called them abunch of Degenaretes.

How did they start calling themselves DX? he also said something about re-uniting with hall and nash(showed the MSG Curtain call video and did a kayfabe thing) bret mention he ran them out of town.

I don't remember the exact night, but in response to being called degenerates, they side you might as well call them "D-Generation X."

Though thye may not have had the spelling down at that exact moment.

Yeah something about them being Degenerates, and how they represented generation x. There was a whole backstage promo about it, with Michaels, Hunter, Chyna and Rude in a locker room.
