I adore the Smackdown commentary team. I absolutely love it when Josh attempts to call the match when Michael Cole and Booker-T are creating utter chaos. I find it highly amusing when Michael Cole points out Booker's mistakes and Booker tries to defend himself. I understand that Booker is not a good commentator but the combination of the three is a delight (for me).

JR and Cole (Not so much King anymore) I was tempted to vote for the number one broski Scott Stanford.

They're all in my fave five mainly because there are only five, but Booker makes the smackdown commentary very entertaining and I figured raw would be winning this poll so I didn't feel the need to give them a vote

So are the NXT votes because of Cole? If so he's not even on the NXT show anymore.

I haven't watched NXT or Superstars since they've been off of television (which saddens me), but something about the Smackdown dynamic is awesome. Booker T has found his groove, and though he's not technically "good", he's entertaining as fuck. All three of them sound like they're having a lot of fun out there.

Smackdown. If only because I love it when Booker T says something so awkward and weird it kills all conversation.

Smackdown because Cole as a heel meshes a lot better with Booker than with Lalwer or JR. Cole doesn't sound as annoying while Booker T isn't boring or bland on color commentary like Lawler.
NXT would have been my second choice because of how well the commentary is regardless of the switching each season. Matthews and Grisham were the best combo with all the random things they would talk about after Cole left. |

NXT, because of Regal. Regal can be hit or miss, but he says some really amazing things sometime. I can't remember the exact quote, but his quote about turning Novak into a vegetable was amazing.
Regal has a mix of wrestling knowledge and British humor, with just a hint of evil. I like it. |

Scott Stanford and Jack Korpela are actually really good commentators. Both obviously do their research, and I actually think both would be great for the big time. Now that Todd Grisham is gone, I think Korpela will be the next guy groomed for filling in when Mathews is not able to. Stanford is amazingly fun, but I think he'll be forever on the internet shows.
William Regal as a color commentator is amazing. Sometimes he stutters and stumbles, but he's always trying to say something interesting and relevant. He adds to the psychology and he puts over everyone he talks about. The intensity he can suddenly introduce into his promos is there when he's on commentary, too. He actually works with Jack Korpela now, and I think they will become a cult favourite commentary pairing. Regal seems to have good chemistry with everyone he works with. I'm sucking the guy's dick, I know -- but have you ever listened to SmackDown! and then listened to NXT? The humour and purpose of the commentary is so much better with Regal and an underrated play-by-play guy there. Striker is still the goods, too. It's a shame he got bumped. I'd much rather see a SmackDown! team of Josh Mathews, Booker T (over the top emotional analyst) and Matt Striker (more logical analyst). Striker tries so hard at his job, but is comfortable and adjusted to the position. Sometimes he comes off as hokey, but that's all part of his charm. He really adds to whatever match he is calling, and he's so passionate. When he is on, he's easily the best commentator in the WWE. Ideally, my perfect teams would be: RAW Jim Ross & Matt Striker SmackDown! Josh Mathews, Booker T & Matt Striker NXT Jack Korpela & William Regal RAW Superstars Jack Korpela & William Regal SmackDown! Superstars Jack Korpela & William Regal I'd make Korpela & Regal your "WWE.com" commentary team. Scott Stanford and Michael Cole move out of commentary and become on-air characters in other ways. Cole becomes a manager and Stanford accompanies Zack Ryder in a Ralphus-type role, or something. JR & Striker play the old-school JR/King dynamic on RAW; while on SmackDown!, there's the same dynamic between Booker T & Striker, but with Mathews there to play the less emotional presence. Mathews becomes "The Voice of SmackDown!," and is groomed to take over from JR when it is time for him to leave again. Jack Korpela then rises to the role of SmackDown! play-by-play guy. PPV commentary would probably be handled by JR, Striker & Booker T -- which would be an interesting team, to say the least. |

Fuck it, I'll vote for Korpela & Striker -- just because they help me appreciate more areas of the match. Korpela & Regal could sneak up there, though.

RAW team. I don't keep up with NXT or SuperStars that much anymore and Booker is so annoying as to make SD! commentary suffer slightly as a result.

JR & Paul Heyman are my favorite of all time.
Currently, I don't really have an opinion. I loved the RAW team when Matt Striker was on board, but since they got rid of him, meh. |
