Honestly, had to go with Sting. I am a big fan of the Rock's in ring work and overall personality, but Sting is my favorite of all time and he is a gifted in ring competitor who has had some great matches over the years. He may not be as fast as he used to be, but personally I still think he's fairly decent in the ring. He was able to hang with Angle, Styles, and Joe. That's a testament to his stamina as a wrestler. Plus, I've always thought he had a great charismatic presence as well.

I watched him from his Nation days. He always had amazing charisma and a flurry of catch phrases. Sting (specifically Starcade) was held down by the product/Hogan. Rock was allowed to flourish. Fuck it, i'll vote now. Rock over Sting because Rock work for the better company.

Damn this is tough. In all aspects the two are pretty equal in my mind. On one hand Rock was/is one of the most charismatic people ever to step in the ring, but in my honest opinion was just a little above average in the ring. On the other hand you have Sting who while not quite as good a talker as Rock was/is still a definite contender as one of the best, and his ring work was well above average in his younger days not to mention despite being up there he can still pull out a pretty good match. Both have done amazing things in their careers, but in the end I have to go with Sting simply because of his ability to still perform at that high caliber. Come mania (or Survivor Series if he actually wrestles) Rock may change my mind but for now it's the Stinger.

It's a tough one, as Sting has been around for so long and has had so many good matches throughout his long career, but for me, The Rock reached a level that Sting didn't.

I think Sting was the better wrestler, but what the Rock did in the ring garnered a bigger reaction. It entered my head that Sting got big reactions for one whole year without even wrestling, but imagining the crowd frenzy at times when Rocky did so much as throw an elbow pad into the crowd or raised his eyebrow. He ran the ropes and did an elbow drop and it became 'The People's Elbow'

Whatever Rocky did turned to gold, which is why he gets the nod.

I did enjoy Sting the most during his Crow and nWo Wolf Pac time and he did have better in-ring skills but The Rock was stronger in terms of promos and getting the crowd to react regardless of who he faced or his status as a heel/face.

Sting is the shit, even underrated at some points "looking back" during the early surfer years. And Nitro through 1997 might be the greatest thing ever in wrestling for me personally and Sting was 50% of that along with the nWo. And who knows what he could have done had he gone and worked for Vince at some point. But Rock is Rock. A phenom, a legit "top 5" ever kind of guy. Maybe not Gretzky or Jordan but Lemieux, Bird, Howe, Wilt and so on, he's there.
