Before or After: Triple H
This week, we will discuss The Cerebral Assassin, Triple H. Might not be the greatest "boss" around, but definitely one of the greatest wrestlers. There were probably better points in time I could've picked, but I decided on this one. So, without further ado, was The Game better before or after May 21, 2001 (the day he tore his quad the first time)?

Took a break from wrestling in late 2000, so never saw much of his Evolution stuff. Gonna say before, with the McMahon-Helmsley Era.

Just read that HHH let Jericho put him in the Walls during the match where he tore his quad. Trips doesn't get enough credit for putting on a great show at any cost.

Pre-quad he was definitely in the superior feuds. Rock, Foley, Austin, Taker, was apart of DX.
I'll go pre-quad. Post-quad was a bigger body of work but I don't feel it was anywhere near the quality of pre-quad. He had great matches, but something was off. |

Before would have to be his best decade. In the early years, especially when he was in WCW and his early WWF stuff, he could do a spinning heel kick.

Before easily. He was one of the best things in the company in 2000 and his evolution reign went on far too long.

Before.
While the early years of the Brand Split had RAW revolves around him and he had some great feuds and moments, he had a lot more memorable moments and feuds before his quad was torn. The injury alone cost him from participating in the Invasion storyline and also ended up costing him the chance of being the 1st ever Undisputed Champion because Jericho benefited the most once Triple H was out. |

Yeah, that's why everyone loves him before. Because of his WCW run and his run as Hunter Hearst Helmsley. After that it was all down hill.

It's just that the torn quad really limited his ability. Before that, he could do anything in the ring.

lol. Come on.
You think he couldn't do a spinning heel kick on Raw tomorrow night? His style changed/he started to carry more body mass but that has zero bearing on most peoples' perception of him. Except you, of course. "Before the quad tear" also inculdes his run in DX and as "The Game" in the Main Event. That's the stuff people liked about "before". |

Everything has already been said. Definitely before. He has done greatness since he came back, but nothing so impressive as what he did as he rose to and claimed greatness for his own.

Also, I'm sure HHH could bust out a spinning heel kick any time he wanted to. But ask the person who would be taking the brunt of it if he SHOULD bust it out.

I am quite torn on this question mentally, physically, and spiritually. I have sat here for 39 minutes racking my brain to compare and contrast the moments of these 2 eras of Triple H's career, and yet I find myself still unsure of which is truly better in my eyes. Therefore, it is with tears in my eyes that I must say they are both equally awe-inspiring and fucking better than whoever your favorite wrestler is.

I prefer his work BEFORE his quad injury but I think he is going to be primarily remembered for his stuff AFTER his quad injury, which ranges from lackluster to spectacular.

definitely before
his stuff from 1998-2000 was pure greatness although I just love when people laugh and point at DLVH84 because he's a knowledgable fan because being a knowledgable fan on this board somehow is a bad thing I guess we get it you don't care about stuff that happened before the attitude era and anyone who watches wrestling from Japan or CWA Germany must be an idiot that's why I don't post a whole helluva lot on this portion of the board |

I think it was more the emphasis on being able to do a spinning heel kick.

I posted that because it seems people don't like DLVH84 and doesn't like people who are knowledgable |

it seems like alot of you only grew up watching Attitude Era matches
and paid no attention to the history of wrestling and people are crucified here if they like an obscure match that it somehow is a bad thing |

sure MOST here like and probably know him best from his DX and The Game era but perhaps some did like WCW run
he was really interesting I have to say as the snobby french Jean Paul Levesque and his initial WWF run |
