Eric Bischoff's Tweet
Ok, so he claimed that the shows the dirt sheets bury get the highest ratings. I could be wrong, but I have this feeling that a lot of people knew what was going to happen on the show and probably tuned in just to see it. If the rating holds into next weeks show, then I'll be pleased as punch for them, but this seems to happen a lot. The other thing I would worry about is the the fact if people who read spoilers are responsible for making the rating go up that much, maybe the IWC represents more than that ten percent he keeps talking about. Don't get me wrong, I'd probably rather have Bischoff in charge more than Carter. But does anyone else think that this might have been the usual ratings boost after a PPV deal?

Well seeing as nobody probably ordered Bound For Glory i'm sure a lot of TNA fans did check in on the next episode. But due to the high number and the shocking changes from the spoilers, I'd say a lot of old school TNA fans tuned in to see Storm win the title.
Question is, does Storm keep the momentum or does he transition the title right on over to Bobby Roode? Storm is a more unique champ, they should run with it for a while, especially after the rating on impact. |

Next week when the ratings go down (they will) Hogan will start saying that he's not ready, the numbers prove it and have the title put on Sting.

I read that Sting is "in charge" of Impact now?
That can't be because Triple H was in charge of RAW, so TNA wanted one of their wrestlers to be in charge of their show, right? ![]() |

They should have Storm bury the whole roster at once, then douse everyone with beer.
That'll get people watching. |

You know that sounded like a joke response in my head, but it would be an improvement I think.

Bischoff is more out of touch with what sells to audiences now a days, than Vince McMahon. TNA has been awful for some time now, and I will have a giant smile on my face when the ratings for Impact go back down to 1.0.

It does seem interesting to me that Bischoff seems to take great joy in irritating his audience in a way that actually makes them switch off rather than react positively aka tuning in to see the wrongs being put right, such is the way wrestling should work.

If people turned in to see James Storm win, I bet they were more pissed off that the match lasted all of like two minutes, mainly due to Angle being hurt.
Its also funny that the highest quarter hour rating was for the Knockouts Tag Match. Im also surprised anyone would sit through an opening promo segment that lasted 40 minutes and 3 commercial breaks. |

If I may take this one, regardless of how bad things get, it is in the best interest of wrestling for there to be competition. To wish for the company closest to the WWE to continue to struggle works against the business. We should be wishing for TNA to recognise where they're going wrong and improve, not to fade away so the business becomes even more of a monopoly than it already is.

not to mention a wrestling fan/somebody not personally invested gaining actual joy from a ratings decrease on a pro wrestling show being quite sad

But there is no way that Bischoff is going to yet another "that shit didn't stick" moment alter his attitude. They'll be some excuse -- whether the blame is put on Storm, Angle being hurt, Hogan not being on the show, etc. Or Bischoff will just keep quiet until he next decides to bury the very people giving him business via the internet again. The dude is clearly a genius. |
