He was very entertaining in the Mattitude gimmick, though he can thank the guys who did his entrance graphics for that. His time in the Hardy Boyz was solid, though he was really the 6th most interesting guy in the Hardys / E&C / Dudleys feud. I don't think I've really given a shit about him as a wrestler since the Edge thing.

He was okay, could have been great but never lived up to his potential. 4.

After splitting with his brother and not having the great matches with E&C or The Dudley Boyz, I lost what little interest I had in him and his brother......To be positive, he could have a great match when put in the ring with a great in-ring competitor (Edge, Gregory Helms, Chris Benoit, M.V.P., etc.).....

I give him an 8. Always liked Matt Hardy, great worker in the ring and great on the mic (especially when he was Matt Hardy V.1). Had some pretty great feuds and matches over the years as a single star and as a tag team wrestler.

I feel his recent plunge into insanity may have tainted some of our opinions of him, but overall, when he's not crashing cars or carrying a baby, he's a solid competitor.

6. good wrestler, decent on the mic, I liked his Mattitude character and that's it really. Shame his personal life ruined everything for him e.g. the love triangle to him attention seeking on Twitter to now.

Gave a 6 overall.

Great as a tag team with Jeff during one of the best tag eras in WWF history and had a decent start in singles once the Hardy Boys split.

Although he's been declining a lot in recent years from a mix of injuries and attitude problems. Horrible run with TNA when he was primarily brought in to help Jeff and instead just wasted it away doing dumb stuff.

I'm not usually critical here, but Wrong, Wrong & Wrong in my opinion...

If you were counting his tag teams years with his brother I would agree and go even higher, but since they parted ways, he's a solid 4... Never took off, almost as Version 2.0... But then he tried to one up his bro on the crazy drug shit too and piss it all away... I hope he can make a comeback... But he has sucked it hard for years now...

I actually never saw the V1 stuff. Didn't get UPN or whatever at the time, and never remembered to watch Velocity. So the majority of time people talk about him fondly as a singles wrestler, I have no knowledge of. Hardy Boyz went fine for a good while, and he did okay as ECW champ. On the other hand, he's the biggest fuckup ever to up a fuck.

Issues in his personal life aside...

Good worker, really liked the Hardy Boyz stuff during the late 90's/early 00's, Mattitude gimmick was entertaining.
It's a shame WWE buried him during the whole Edge feud later on; if he was to have had a chance at making it in the upper-card that would've been it.

All things considered (from a professional wrestling standpoint), I give him a 7.
