Great, more homegrown talent that can be overshadowed by WWE's unwanted talent.

I personally think this is a great thing. There are some guys in TNA with the "look," but don't quite have the right foundations just yet. Rob Terry and Jesse Neal are two guys who come to mind. Some time working in OVW would really help out those guys. Plus, it gets some attention for OVW again, which makes me happy, considering the history of that promotion.
TNA have also got the chance to do something a bit different. Instead of letting their developmental league exist in a realm all of its own -- TNA could actually do some pretty interesting cross-promotion with them. Teams like The Elite could show up in TNA, as well as interesting characters like Paredyse (essentially a Goldust-style character, but not a terrible knockoff). TNA also has a bunch of guys that they don't really use. Doug Williams could offer a lot of knowledge in OVW, and he and Magnus could work some tag team programs over there, and TNA could follow their progress. It'd tie into that Indian promotion that Dave Lagana is apparently heading up. TNA would be the banner everything falls under, but then you have Impact Wrestling, OVW and that Indian deal. |

I think that's a great step forward for TNA, as I believe OVW has been consistent in making future superstars for WWE in the past, and now, they do the same thing for TNA.

Muhammad Ali Vaez is actually a pretty decent heel from what I've read. He recently worked the ROH shows.
And no, that doesn't automatically make him great, but he's impressing certain people (Jim Cornette included). Not sure about this Jack Black dude, though... |

Jack Black gave me an idea for a potentially horrible, although perhaps somewhat marketable as a lower-card attraction, gimmick:
"I Just Want to Impress My Kids" - "Average" Joe *Insert Surname* A father who might have played football in high school, and even done some fighting in his youth. When he works out his children don't respect him for working a 9-5 job, Joe notices that they enjoy the larger than life Superstars of the WWE (or TNA, I guess). Joe decides to get himself into shape as best as possible, and try his hand at the world of sports entertainment. Basically a dude who would like one WrestleMania moment to make his kids happy. He'd be played by an older veteran, and he comes in and basically plays a sympathetic face who gets his ass kicked. But then you can have him win a big tag match with John Cena. And there's the possibility of a heel turn down the road, when a slimy manager gets his hands on Average Joe's contract and promises him the glamourous life of a Superstar. Joe comes out in a suit to see his kids sitting in the front row of his hometown -- "What do you think of your Daddy now?!? By the way, I am leaving your mother..." It'd be a heat machine, dammit! |

As a heel his nickname (or finishing move) could be "The Mid-Life Crisis."

This can actually be a good deal for TNA. Like Noid said, TNA now has 3 brands in motion.

Wasn't TNA already using Team 3Ds and The Nasty Boys wrestling schools as "farm territories"?

Speaking of which, some of the tna knockouts and wwe women also had matches in OVW even Beth Phoenix and Katie Lea aka Winter.. Especially Serena Deeb aka the former bald SES chick too.

That was when they were still WWE's developmental, at least for the Beth/Katie Lea peroid.

Every time TNA does something smart, which this seems to be, I briefly forget that they fuck up every single thing they do. Well, hope springs eternal.

But on a serious note, this could be good for TNA. Is OVW training still run by Nick Dinsmore and other ex-WWE wrestlers (who I forgot and can't be bothered to look up right now)? This could give future TNA stars more of a foundation in basic wrestling and ring psychology. I have no problem with TNA's in-ring action, but a lot of people on here over the years have complained about their 'spot monkey's' having no sense of psychology.

I wonder what the fall out of this will be for the top OVW prospects. Will they have to agree to be "TNA Exclusive" or else be dropped from the active roster and only be allowed to train at the school?
I'm just curious, because at least as a WWE developmental territory, if you were locked in to them you knew you had a chance to make it to the biggest promotion in the world. If you're a top star in OVW, do you really want to risk committing to TNA at the expense of a future WWE developmental deal or even ROH appearances? |

Even if it is TNA, this should help pave the way for Cliff Compton to return to television - which would be excellent.

Cornette pushed TNA to do this for YEARS. At least Cornette still has state in OVW so he'll get TNA money and not have to do anything related to them.

Good move by TNA because now they have a good indy fed that has experience working as a farm system and did contribute a lot to the WWE although knowing TNA they will find a way to mess this up badly.
