I never got the appeal of reading an ebook. The whole good thing about reading is sitting in a comfortable chair and turning pages and being able to physically turn the pages and what not.

Turning the pages is what makes reading fun? I thought it was the advancement of knowledge or an interesting story.

Obviously, I mean that experience of having a physical book in which to read a story. When its just you sitting in a chair flipping through the pages is like you are discovering the world in which the writer has laid out for you. It is just a visceral experience that a ebook just doesn't provide me. Having tangeable contact with the written word is an experience unto itself. Obviously people are free to read whatever they want and enjoy it as they will, I just prefer it that way. Actually turning the pages is almost like uncovering the world that is given to you by the writer. That's why I like it. Now see what you've done, you've made me ramble about something as stupid as flipping through pages. And I know what you're thinking, this post is stupid. Well, before you decide if its stupid or not, print it out sit down in a comfy chair and reread it. If it still sucks... I'm sorry. |
