WOW I can't believe it's really happening: The Rise of Daniel Bryan

Perhaps it is but I dare say tis not too early to say Daniel Bryan is now a WWE Main Eventer. The evidence is gathered from Michael Cole's reaction to him this past Monday Night Raw. Even at the Rumble he was making fun of him, saying he was undeserving and then the very next night it was like none of that happened. Now there was one moment where King reminded Cole that he hates Daniel Bryan and Cole did confirm that up unto a point.

Upon further investigation of the topic you may find that Daniel Bryan has been in the main event at most WWE Live's Events with WWE's main event jobber "The Big Show" for the majority of January. You may also see that he is wearing the World Heavyweight Title and is billed as 210lbs... That's impressive.

Now for myself I wish I could say I watched ROH from it's birth but truthfully I didn't. ROH wasn't the alternative for me that ECW was, but I knew it was the g-spot of the IWC for several years and would watch clips and keep up with the big news stories that developed. If you were in the same boat then you would be more than familiar with Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Samoa Joe and Nigel McGuiness. Two went to TNA... and the other two hold the most prestigious championship's in the business today, and faced off in a Raw classic last night, champion vs champion.

In the match last night the WWE Universe didn't see the Daniel Bryan that cashed in his Money In The Bank contract on the incapacitated Big Show, or the weasel vegan who has narrowly escaped destruction and defeat the hands of WWE's largest Giant on more than one occasion. We saw The American Dragon, the guy who seems to channel the spirit of Stu Hart and systematically stretch and submit his opponent in a variety of ways, usually showing something we have never seen before in WWE. Bryan and Punk were given exactly what they both need to become household names to the WWE Universe, time. They were given time to do exactly what they do best, and wasn't it awesome?

You can see my personal opinion is yes, Daniel Bryan is now apart of the WWE main event scene. If you disagree tell me why, explain the difference between another rising start like Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, or Mark Henry and Daniel Bryan.

Love Bryan. His promo with Punk and the raw match that followed seems to indicate that he is now becoming able to channel his talents directly into the WWE universe and that WWE recognizes what they have with him.

I saw Dbry at an ROH show, didn't really know who he was at the time but I responded to his theme song, The Final Countdown, by becoming wet. So the rest is history.

Remember last night when Dbry stomped on Punks elbow? That was sick.

It seemed that Punk was having a lot of fun last night in that match. It is also interesting to think about how far they have come and how much farther they may go together.

Daniel Bryan is hitting the next level and it may not be to long away before he is living on the next level. His promo with punk! Also after he won the match when he was down on the ground, sitting and chanting YES!

His yes chant is great because he really believes it. Like Fragile X said, he channels the spirit of the Harts but he also channels some of the excitement of HBK, particularly in ring and not the top of his head.

Sincerely yours,
Taker It Easy

I still have my doubts at the beginning of his push, but he's slowly turning me around..... I hope he succeeds...... I rather see him in main events instead of muscleheads like Mason Ryan.....

Between the first awkward promo he delivered after winning the belt, and last night's promo, he has definitely been improving. No questioning his in ring skills.

Still don't think he's "the best world champion in a long while", but he could be if he keeps improving on the stick. Last night's promo, he looked a lot more comfortable.

I've never been a fan of Daniel Bryan but since the new year he's been awesome, and last night he was incredible in every way. 2 weeks ago I would never have wanted him to be champion going into Mania, but I've done a complete 180 on that now.

I liked that they didn't do a million moves to make it a great match. They did their usual spots with a bit more aggression and got the crowd into it. Would have loved an actual finish, but Jericho interrupting gives it a to be continued feel, for a feud at a later date. Imagine these guys with 20 plus minutes?

I was always a fan of Bryan but was a little hesitant to buy into the heel turn and the fact that he was more than just a MITB winner flash in the pan ala Jack Swagger. He's definitely becoming a credible, probable main event mainstay though.

At the end of the day he's just a far better performer than Jack Swagger. Not that Swagger's a bad performer, I quite like him, but Bryan is incredibly seasoned. He's paid every type of due that there is. He's done the indies, he's done Japan, he's gone the WWE developmental, he's come up to the E and been jobbed left right and center and done it all smiling because he knows the game. I don't think Swagger has the ability like Bryan to take what little he's given, and just run with it.

I like how he's slowly becoming more ego-driven as the weeks go by as a heel which has given his character something to work with when before he really had nothing.

About the Michael Cole thing, well he supports the heels because he himself is a heel and Bryan was basically a tweener but Cole getting on Bryan's side signifies to me that he is a full heel now.
