to me this is the ultimate bruiser match and not just because of the great matches they had against each other. these two are the mecca of the heavyweight styles. hard working, tough, mean, endlessly believable. They both drew HUGE and are in my top 5 all time list. For me Hansen takes a slight edge. they get a draw in pretty much everyway but i have to pick one over the other and i'll give it to hasen just because i find him the tiniest bit more believable.

in truth i made this match for me because i know this match will be a landslide. im in no way judging TPWW for not being exposed to Stans work, they watch what they watch. its a chore to get ahold of stuff from over seas and to be fair they may just dislike the style, but i couldnt not give a nod to Stan Hansen.

Vader as I've never seen Hansen's work. I did feel a little bad voting when I've never actually seen anything of him though.

I really enjoyed both guys... very tough call. It would have really been something to see Hansen work with Bret Hart I'll tell you that...

I prefer the American style to the Japanese style more often than not, though with both these guys you have a fair mix, and neither used a lot of sophisticated stories to get over it was more of a "I'm gonna smash you ahhahahahaa" type of attitude.

Vader had more success worldwide and made it to the biggest stages of every promotion he worked for, so I'll go with him.

he's one of the only what...two western workers to hit legend status in japan? his star was MUCH brighter than vaders for considerably longer in Japan. Hansen in japan is the bigger star. and since there's more money being made over there at the time being a star in japan > being a star in WWF or WCW during the attitude era, let alone the few years prior. This may upset many of you, please remember to breath.

point: you do not in any way need to be a success for vince or the like to be massively successful and really has no wieght when talking abou AJPW or NJPW stars in the companies primes.
