What's up with blind tags?
Like when the ref is over yelling at one team, the legal man for the other team gets on the apron, makes a clap sound, and the other guy goes in as the new legal guy. They faked a tag to get cheap heat I guess.
WTF is the point? He's standing right there, he could just tag him. It's not like he's getting away with some crazy illegal jedi mind trick shit or anything. I guess it isn't seen too much in the WWE anymore, but I see it a lot at indy shows. ![]() Formerly Known As: Ketchupisyourfriend Quote:

It's normally not supposed to be that "easy" to make the tag, and thus is really supposed to be like cheating. It saves time. You come in, double team, then switch.
Also, when I saw "blind tag", I pictured the thing where the illegal man makes the tag, but the other team's legal man doesn't see it, and is then shocked when the switch is made, despite the fact that it's perfectly legal. |

It just saves time, basically. Don't think too much about it.

Heels are generally cheaters and just don't bother with the formalities of the rules which is to stir heat in the crowd.

Ok, I'm not really too worried about this stuff. I'm just bored and its just one of those things I always thought was a bit pointless. |

I care. It makes a difference who's legal or illegal, and leaving the illegal man in allows for a decision reversal.

Um, aren't blind tags when the guy on the apron makes a tag to the guy in the ring with out the opponent noticing (hence the term "blind")?
![]() And yeah, the heelish cheating tag is kinda dumb when they're right in the corner together. |

I know the illegal switch was done by faces from time to time ("the Young Pistols"/"Wild Eyed Southern Boys", who looked alike). I'm sure that dates back to the beginning of tag team wrestling. As far as the "blind tag," correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure someone with more knowledge than I will, but didn't the Midnight Express make a SCIENCE out of the blind tag? (it's also used by face teams to get a jump on the nogoodniks in the early going) |

I always found it dumb how when the team doing the clap sound tag, the referee, who's back is turned, claps his hands together to signify the other team has tagged. But if a face does it he doesn't hear.
