Official MCMAHON Appreciation and Depreciation!!!

Vince is coming back tonight, and I'm actually excited to see him back! You know down to the core, all wrestling fans appreciate what he's done for the business, and that was shown the night HHH became COO with the,"THANK YOU, VINCE!!!" chants began. Truthfully, he has gained alot of admiration and respect letting his on-screen workers kick his ass and degrade him on television, something most executives in any company would never have the balls to have done to them in a million year. That said, we are also aware that he can be a rotten foul-tempered business man who, at times, uses the abuse of authority to turn the place into his personal playground at the expense of hard-working talents- ask Bret Hart! With that, I ask you several questions:

What does Mcmahon bring to the sport that actually keeps his business alive and ontop?

Is he a financial genius who earned what he's made, or a snot-nosed brat who was given all he has by his daddy?

Do you think he regrets not doing more during the Monday Night Wars?

Who has suffered the most abuse (a ratio of psychological, physical, and financial) from Vince's authority?

If Vince dies, what do you think would change in WWE?

BE A STAR!
Take your vitamins!
Say your prayers!
and....

Vince McMahon is the man

watched a documentary about the boxer Chuck Wepner and he pops up in that and even there, he's the ultimate show man

and to answer one of your questions, he earned everything he's made, no question

I agree with both of you! He does work very hard, harder than any other entertainment executive I am aware of. If he dies, I would be really saddened, because he is one of my favorite onscreen characters.

on screen he isn't worth as much anymore. He is older. Obviously less in touch and looks quite feeble.

Off screen he is still the raging egomaniac dick head that we all know and love.

Older yes, but his evil personality and history can never be outshined by anybody onscreen, except Vince Russo, but the hatred for Russo is legitimate on all levels. I don't hate Mcmahon whatsoever, though I do think he's made some potentially fatal mistakes, but 9 out of 10, he succeeds in winning the fans over.

Vince is anything but a silver spoon spoiled child. He grew up in a trailer park in North Carolina with his mother and abusive step father. When he moved to be with his biological father, he worked his way up and was given 1 opportunity to promote the Maine promotion of his dad's empire. He succeeded. He bought the WWF under a strict condition: if he missed 1 payment he would lose it all. Vince McMahon not only survived but thrived. Vince McMahon then changed wrestling forever and made it a truly global phenomenon.

Seriously, I hope Vince McMahon writes a book and is honest or somehow they do an insanely long interview DVD. I wish they could do one of those "Legends of Wrestling Roundtables" with just Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman, Verne Gagne, and Jim Crockett Jr.

The "McMahon" DVD released back in 2006 was awesome and really interesting. Vince McMahon is an interesting human being who has somehow managed to never get the respect he deserves despite being praised as the greatest promoter of all time.

I will say one thing about Mcmahon, he and ONLY he can make the impossible possible in the wrestling world. The one thing that made me giddy like a kid in a toy store was seeing him put Bischoff in charge of Raw and Heyman in charge of Smackdown. Rewind to the stages before WCW's fall, did anyone EVER imagine seeing that happen?

of course they don't. Imagine how many people watch your average hit prime time TV show, say one of those vampire shows for example, and how many of that audience just watch/enjoy the show and how few people go online to discuss the intricacies of characters and rumours for what might happen and "inside information" or what is essentially "fan fiction" etc. Exactly the same with wrestling.

My heart would be warmed if he comes out tonight and people give him a bigger applause than any superstar he's ever made, and he blushes from it. I know in his head, he'd be thinking,"I can die with the greatest sense of content right now."

I'd say I'm an "average fan" and I couldn't care less about Vince Russo. If he showed up on an episode of Raw I wouldn't care in the slightest one way or another. McMahon though <3

I know it's all about the numbers but I'm hoping for the day that tag team wrestling gets big again. Actual teams. At one point a tag team match was the highlight of a Saturday night Main Event..>i want to see it get back to that point. And not just as an enhancement to a current storyline....as a real buh gawd division where people are only at their best when together...like the old days.

Well never did good on his own...But Well-Dun won some matches.

To me seeing McMahan is like watching Vader come out. Its something that special for the moment. But he wears out his welcome quickly. Well Vince has a little more staying power than Vader but I like seeing him as a memory. Monday was cool. And maybe a few weeks more but I just hope he doesn't stay too long.

Yeah, anybody can wear it out, but then again, there are also characters that are better never created too (and were created anyways). It would be more preferable for someone like Vince or Vader to take up the time slot than that undrawable character.

This. Having access to information via the Internet and actually having that information are very different.

Vince was SOLD a regional promotion and made it a national one. People act like Vince was just given this. Vince bought it from his dad, and if he was late on even one of his payments, the WWF would go to Gorilla Monsoon, Arnie Skaaland and one other guy.

Can you imagine what the company would look like today (if it would be around today) if Monsoon had inherited it?

This leads me to the next question: What shape would the company be in if Vince Mcmahon died? What would change and what would stay the same?

I think this really depends on who inherits it.
- If another Mcmahon gets the company, then I don't expect too many changes outside of going a slight bit further right to become a state of Linda's propaganda, and no chance to escape the outrageous censorships that occure during her political campaign. Not sure if I could watch it in this condition.
- If HHH gets it, then we can expect him to do some things respectively like Vince, but will have attributes that are more business fixated than politics, and may be more supportive to the violent nature of the sport. Being a talent in this company since the mid 1990s, thoroughly educated, level headed, and now married into the Mcmahon family, there is no advantage for him to not have the company. This would be best for the company's survival, seeing that his intelligence and true passion for it would make it almost impossible or him to sell it.
-If a third party gets it, at best we may see a helluva good run in the start, maybe even prolonging to a decade or more, but the fact remains, only the family can run the family business.
