The Power Rasslers
I'm talking about Ryback, Goldberg, Warrior, Diesel.... the unstoppable babyface force that topples countless opponents before being matched with a cunning usually smaller heel that finds a way to scam their way over the giant to victory.

For Ryback we have Punk, for Goldberg you had Raven, for Warrior you had Rude and Savage, for Diesel we saw many great matches with HBK and Bret Hart. But all of these superstars were squash match spectaculars. And to tell you the truth I've never had much of a problem with this type of booking.

We the internet marks usually love our work rate champions, the Jericho's, Punk's, HBK's etc... But they cannot exist without their giant powerhouse counterparts.

The reason I bring up this point is to discuss Ryback, who obviously has squashed the majority of the WWE undercard and any local scum who is brave enough to take a couple hundred to be devoured by the monster. Watching TPWW throughout the years we seem as a collective group to constantly bring the rain of hate for these kinds of workers and the matches they provide. It's all apart of the story of the "event" and every match has to be booked differently to give a feeling of a great live show. Ryback is a part of the formula.

Years later people seem to have a nostalgic respect for both The Ultimate Warrior and Goldberg, for the memories we all have of short squash after short squash. But, these seemingly talentless muscle heads provide us with reason for celebration and mark out moments. We all marked out for Goldberg's title victory, Warrior reaching the prize at WM 6, and the news on Raw of Big Daddy Cool defeating Bob Backlund in 8 seconds.

Be patient with Ryback, if history shows, this is a story that builds to a climax, but where do you see the end of this story starting?

On Raw when Cena announced his arm was ripped, and Ryback replaced him in the main event, we had a Wrestlemania stare down, along the lines of HHH/Undertaker. I feel the story of Ryback won't begin with a title victory, but a domination of John Cena at Wrestlemania. For years I have hoped WWE would turn John Cena at Wrestlemania in the natural way that Bret Hart was forced to turn... and literally in the match with was done with the moves. After Bret beat the shit out of Austin and he didn't give up, he attacked his leg and shoved Shamrock out of the way. If WWE went this route with Ryback how would you script it? Or if you disagree with this plan, name your own.

I've always enjoyed the power wrestlers/big man wrestlers more than the smaller lighter guys. I am not sure why, I guess its because of the spectacle of it all, but I pretty much always would've rather seen two hosses like Tensai and Kane go at it rather than smaller guys like a Guerrerro or a Punk.

I'd much rather watch a match between Guerrero and Punk and I think there's room for matches like that. They only belong in the main event on the rarest of occasions though. "Sports entertainment" should aim to be larger than life and guys like Hogan, Taker, Andre, etc. accomplish that. I'll throw in the Rybacks and Goldbergs with them. But I would still never wanna just not have guys who are just athletic and experts in technical wrestling. Just mainly on the card somewhere below the "spectacles".
