When would you say wrestling "died for you"... if it has
Obviously, everybody has their own opinion. When would you say wrestling died in your opinion? I would say when WCW and ECW closed their doors, that was the end for me. Even though they were nowhere near a threat to the WWE rear the end, there still was that possibility of competition between the other companies. From 02 to about 04 the product got completely stagnant I would say were some of the worst years for professional wrestling in my opinion. ![]() FEELS LIKE I'M WEARING NOTHING AT ALL NOTHING AT ALL NOTHING AT ALL |

No when Bobby "I have a nickname" Jaggers died that was super tragic and shit. But when Crash Holly died it was pretty sad for me b/c I talked to him for 30 seconds at Axxess befor WM18. So sad but at least he gets to ram in it Vicky Venom's gash every night in heaven.

Bret Hart may have been boring according to some people but he had the nicest hair in the history of greaseball hair. Bret Hart is the greatest rassler from America's Hat ever!

LOL at the new name.
It died for me once the referee claimed Khali tapped when he did not. John Cena should have lost the match! |

Or maybe it was because Khali was in back to back main events.

The fun was over for me when ECW went on TNN. I realize it was the next necessary step in order for the company to grow, but the product turned into a compromise and pretty much sucked shit. I remember watching every Saturday night at 10 on local tv and I always looked forward to it, haven't had that "need" to watch a wrestling show weekly since then.

I would say it was when ECW folded but Wrestlemania X7 happened after that and that was the best thing ever. So I guess when the Invasion was over. But the product was still good after that for a little bit too.

Eddie Guerrero's death and Benoit's murder suicide. Although I don't think wrestling is dead. Those two were powerful negative moments on the business.

I wouldn't say it died as much as it peaked at some point around the turn of the century and has been in decline ever since.

Triple H and Stephanie. Pretty much zoned out for 9 years and just came back around the time Edge retired.

Benoit/Eddie stuff.
As far as in-ring product, I'd say I stopped caring completely about what was happening in the ring about the time of the Spirit Squad. Though it was downhill for a -long- time before that circus. |

For me it almost dead, and it's due to the actual wrestling parts of wrestling being 'mostly' gone (aka the benoit, malenko, hart, etc style of wrestling).
I see brief flashes of it in the E via Daniel Bryan and punk (that i can think of offhand), and I still see parts of it in TNA, but overall the lack of 'technical wrestling' is what's been keeping me from enjoying it |

this question is subjective. i dunno if it ever really died for me, i more just lost interest or gained a greater interest in something else. people and their preferences change. it's not always something that professional wrestling "did" that changed whether or not i was into it.

You mean there's no objectively true answer to the question of when wrestling "died for us?

Haven't had a moment where my interested completely died out but the closet would have been during Triple H's "Reign of Terror" on Raw.
Missed out on almost all of Smackdown during the time due to my college only had a very limited DISH package and didn't drop it in favor of cable until a year later. |

I wouldn't say that it "died" because that's ridiculously over dramatic.

Never "died" for me. I'm just not as obsessed about it as I was in my childhood-early teens. I just enjoy the show for what it is; some silly entertainment with moments of brilliance and admirable athleticism. I try and watch every Raw but I miss an episode from time to time and it doesn't bother me. Back in the day missing a Raw or Smackdown was a tragedy. But that's not because my interest has wained necessarily. I've just grown up and a TV show doesn't rank highly on my list of priorities when it comes down to it. I've been to 3 of the last 4 Wrestlemanias though so the love is very much alive and always will be I think.

Since 1995, the only time I've ever stopped watching wrestling completely was in the fall and winter of 2001. I wasn't into the whole Invasion angle. Then I got back into it when it was announced the NWO was gonna show up on WWE.
I've been watching ever since. So no, wrestling hasn't died for me. But it was in a coma for a couple months. |
