DISCUSSION - A few *thoughts* about EVOLUTION, D'Lo Brown, RAW thoughts, and SHOWBERG

DISCUSSION - A few *thoughts* about EVOLUTION, D'Lo Brown, RAW thoughts, and SHOWBERG

-First off, Evolution: Do you think it's possible for Evolution to NEVER break up? (atleast in the immediate future). Furthermore, do you think it's possible for Triple H to "put over" Randy Orton without actually JOBBING to him? Let me explain:

Let's say that Triple H does NOT win the World title within the next half year or so. Benoit still remains champ. Eventually, Orton gets a title shot and wins. Does Triple H get jealous? No. He continues to be a 'team player' and applauds Orton. 8 months or so after that (or whenever Batista becomes champ......by defeating whoever defeated Orton), Triple H, Flair, and Orton support Batista.

Here are some advantages I see in this.

-Evolution gets a true "identity".........and doesn't have a 'revolving door' of members like we saw in the nWo a few years ago.

-We will never have to see an awkward Triple H face turn.

-Because a guy like Triple H would be SUPPORTING a guy like Orton while Orton is World champion, it would almost be like having two world champions.........whoever is feuding with a heel Triple H, would be in a 'main-event like' match. Eventually when a guy like Batista becomes champ, it would be like having THREE world champs (which ever face is going up against Orton and Triple H).

Eventually however - I'd like to see Flair get replaced by Shawn Michaels........and I DON"T care if this makes Evolution look like "DX".

D'Lo Brown: Do you think there is ANY chance of D"Lo Brown being re-hired by the WWE? If not, I think it would be a great TRAGEDY. D'Lo may not have been the best wrestler, but he wasn't the worst either (if you're going to use the whole "Droz" incident against him, then let me remind you that Owen Hart almost crippled Austin........and Owen was one of the best wrestlers of all-time). ACCIDENTS happen. ....but I digress.

D'Lo was great in eliciting crowd responses.......heel or face. During D'Lo last run in the WWE, it was OBVIOUS that the fans wanted to REACT to him (they cheered and booed loudly towards him when required).

I think D'Lo would be an excellent fit on Smackdown right now. He would be a HELL of a lot better than guys like Bradshaw and Hardcore Holly.

I also firmly believe that D'Lo Brown could have been a CREDIBLE main-eventer.

Some Raw Thoughts

-Tyson Tomko sucks dick. And I''m not talking about Christian's either. He just sucks. I'd like to see him get sent down to OVW.

-I wonder how long the popularity of EUGENE will last? His face reaction was about 5 times bigger than Edge's. . I'm pretty sure Regal will grow to love Eugene by the way. Speaking of these two, I think they'll become a tag team in the future (this year's version of Booker T/Goldust).

-I think it was stupid to NOT have Benoit be a part of Raw last night. Benoit needs to be getting as much TV time as possible right now. He needs to be KNOWN as the #1 guy. Would the WWE have given Austin or The Rock 'no air-time' during their peaks? The women's match could've been replaced by a Benoit promo or something.

-I wonder about Dave Batista's future. He seems to be of the same 'mold' as Lesnar and Goldberg (actually - more along the lines of Goldberg because he also had lackluster wrestling ability). Nonetheless - do you think that Batista could be able to draw one day?

-Hope Jericho wins the Battle Royale next week. I also hope that he has TWO tremendous matches with Benoit (at the next PPV, and the one after that). In both cases, I hope Benoit goes over clean in two very close matches.

-I'd like to see Edge re-unite with Christian. They can both "share" Trish (not only as a manager, but as an "implied" sex partner) I'd still have E&C be singles competitors, but they can do the odd tag match as well. If Edge goes back with Christian, he might...........uhh you know........get a good crowd reaction?

-What the heck are the WWE going to do with Rhyno? It seems like one week he's getting an IMPRESSIVE win, and doing jack shit the next. I hope Rhyno gets a decent push as a face. I think he can be made to look somewhat "Goldberg-esque" if he convincingly defeats his opponents (and as result, get loud cheers).

SHOWBERG:

Ok - THIS will probably sound stupid, but here me out (I suggested this idea in another thread). What if Big Show returned to Smackdown as Showberg?......a parody/ripoff gimmick of Goldberg.

Big Show would be bald, would have the same music and attire as Goldberg, and would use the same moveset (on top of the moves that Big Show already has). So for example - SHOWBERG could spear, jackhammer, and then chokseslam his opponent for the victory.

I *KNOW* that this idea may sound STUPID!..........but please hear me out! Here are some advantages that I see with this.

1) It renews Big Show's character: I think one could argue that Big Show is pretty much dead as a draw (not that he ever was, but still). Furthermore - I highly doubt that Big Show will get another title reign anytime soon. If Big Show goes the route that he's going now, then he'll just become a guy that puts over up-and-coming faces. Whoop-dee.

2) The fans seem to love comedic characters: Take a look at Eugene right now. The guy is getting popped huge. Granted this may not last too long, but it's obvious that the fans are loving it. The difference between Eugene and Big Sho.....er SHOWBERG however, is that SHOWBERG can be taken seriously as a main-eventer (seeing as how Big Show has main-evented and won the world title before).

3) This "Showberg" character would fit well with Big Show's "real life" humorous personality: Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain that the fans would pop BIGTIME for Showberg. Even though it would be as a 'joke', I'm pretty sure that the "Showberg" chants would be CONSTANT.

4) If "Showberg" can squash his opponents convincingly (i.e. like Goldberg......except with the added chokeslam), I think the fans will respect him more than just a joke. Because of the 'humor/parody' attached with the gimmick (combined with the fact that Big Show doesn't win "all" of his matches in less than 30 seconds), I don't think the fans would ever turn of SHOWBERG like they did with Goldberg (due to the fans being frustrated at the fact that Goldberg sometimes didn't win as quick as he would in his WCW matches).

What happens if Big Show DOESN"T pan out as a main-eventer? (with this gimmick). No worries - he can do what he'd be doing with his "Big Show" gimmick......he can put over up-and-comers (except this time, he'd be a face).

If anything - I think this "Showberg" character could help DRAW for Smackdown. But then again - it could be the alcohol talking.

I was always a big supporter of D'lo, but the Droz incident really ended his WWF/E career.

Yeah D'lo did way too many JOBs in the WWE to ever be taken seriously again. I liked him too, but the fact is the comapny never forgave him for what happened to Droz.

In terms fo Trips, the gorup could work like Heyman suggested, but look, Hunter wants to break Flair's title record, so that means at a minimum HHH has 9 more title reigns coming his way.

I know we always talk about how Evolution needs to go to get Orton over, and like I've said a million times, its very easy. If they dont go the easy route, they are stupid. Orton is getting better, the fans are starting to get behind him (no need to rush a face turn though, because that would be counter productive) and he's actually picked up his game in the ring.

Heyman always loves to talk about HBK getting into Evolution, and he's always worried about HHH as face, well here's how you solve that, HHH+HBK=DX reunion. The fans were behind the idea in 02, they could get into it again later this year or early next year. I usually dont like going backwards but I think that would work.

Batista has potential. The problem I see with him is that they have him selling too much. He needs to be booked like a monster and not 'just another guy'. He's another guy who has picked up his ring work.

I still like the E+C reunion idea (actually they would be awesome to feud with HHH+HBK).

I agree (doing that too much lately) about Tomko, but I think everyone realizes he's not ready. Its not his fault, but once again, despite multiple warnings, the WWE brings up a guy who is not ready and then is shocked when they suck.

I dont know how long the Eugene thing will last, probably a couple of months, then his career will be over.

Benoit is NOT the #1 guy, which is why he can miss shows without much concern about it. HHH is and always will be the top guy on RAW, that will NEVER change.

I'd like to see Jericho-Benoit as well, mainly because I think the feud with Christian while its been great for Christian has really made Jericho look like a punk (although the match on Monday helped). However, I think what we'll see is that Kane will face Benoit at Bad Blood, then HBK-Benoit at Vengeance and then finally, HHH takes back the title at Summerslam.

Rhyno? I dont think they even know form week to week what direction they're going with him. Its funny, because with the angle thats going on over opn Smackdown and with the lack of heels over there, he would have been perfect for a big push and feud with Eddy, but hey, that would be dumb right?

I've always loved this idea as well, but always got FLAMED when I brought it up.

(tpww.net circa 2003/03)

Everyone else --> :foc: :foc: NO MORE DX!

Heyman -->

But annnnnyways, how would this scenerio sound?

-Trips gets booted out of Evolution.
-Trips has beef with Evolution.
-HBK still has beef with Evolution.

-HBK and Triple H are "forced" by Eric Bischoff to team together and face Evolution (in tag matches).

-Triple H and HBK work incohesively.......and argue with one another.

-One day, Vince McMahon comes to Raw and makes an announcment. Vince McMahon has announced the re-signing of the Chyna.....the 9th Wonder of the World

-Chyna then says that she is here strictly for 'business'.

-Next Raw --> Chyna comes out and asks for Triple H and HBK to come out to the ring. Yadda, yadda, yadda - > Chyna ultimately ends up getting HBK and Triple H to be friends again..........and the ORIGINAL Degeneration X is back.

What I find funny, is how the WWE have done a respectable job with their women's division, yet have done such a POOR job with their Cruiserweight Division.

Why doesn't The Hurricane become the Women's champion next Raw? Oh that's right - HE'S NOT A WOMAN! However - Jacqueline IS a Cruiserweight. No really - she is.

The Showberg thing would be very funny, but it wouldn't draw money. Comedy NEVER draws money.

I really hate Chyna, so angle where she comes back is bad news IMO. Plus, given her past relationship with Hunter, I highly doubt Miss Stephanie would ever allow her to be a WWE employee again. But then again, stranger things have happened.

I think the HHH-HBK reunion should happen slowly, because they've been feuding for so long, they cant just go one and say "okay were friends now". But over time they could slowly trust one another, and then do the DX deal not necessarily as a full time thing, but just make refernce to it as being "the good old days" and now they're trying to recapture that time and rekindle their friendship.

No.

At that time, Big Show was using different gimmicks each and every episode (i.e. Showkishi, Shogan, Shonan the Barbarian, Big Showboski, etc.).

None of those gimmicks can be 'portayed' in a serious way.......but even then, Big Show was getting popped big time. The fans were VERY receptive when he defeated Angle that year.

With the "Showberg" gimmick, you can get seriousness and comedy at the same time.

It's an upgrade from Raw's "Eugene"...........and we can see how big Eugene's reactions have been of late.

Basically - I think Big Show needs a 'character refreshment' of sorts. At a time when casual fans NEED a reason to tune into Smackdown, I think this could be a decent way.

OK, I'm just going to write up a little Evolution breakup storyline and how the reunion thing should go.

**JUST A NOTE: I intended this reply to be like 1 paragraph, but I got like reverse writers block or something and went a little crazy. Sorry if it's to long, but whatever. I got ideas as I went along

I think the reunion thing should happen fairly quickly and in a BIG MOMENT. Now, I have posted numerous times on how I think the reunion is a GREAT idea and how they should do it.. Okay, here is the scenerio I see. So Orton keeps on defending his title and winning his matches. HHH keeps on losing his World Title shots. Orton starts to slowly steal the spotlight from HHH. SLOWLY is the key word HERE. Orton starts hogging mic time, he starts arriving late when Evolution told him to be there, he starts acting like he is the leader. Obviously, HHH and Flair get furious with this and discension starts to set in.

OK, shift to a tag match on Raw just before Survivor Series. Orton and HHH against whomever for thr tag titles. Orton and HHH are on good terms before the match and give one of those "we're pumped up" interviews right before the match begins. During the match Orton suffers a minor "injury" to his back and tags in HHH. HHH does good when he comes in, but starts getting hurt and needs a tag. Orton starts signalling to everyone that he is in deep pain. Orton jumps off the apron and starts to walk to the back like he is going to get medical attention. This leads to HHH getting pinned and not winning the titles. This isn't a main event, so as the show comes back from commercials, HHH finds Orton in the back and they start arguing. Flair and Batista break it up and Trips says that Orton better have his back at Survivor Series. Orton says he'll have his back alright.

OK, WE go to Survivor Series where it's HHH vs whomever for the World Title. Flair comes down with HHH at the begginning, but winds up getting tossed out of the match by the ref. So, the finish to the match is HHH going for the sledge hammer, but it gets knocked out of his hands to the floor by "champion wrestler." "Champion wrestler" starts beating the sh** out of HHH and things don't look good for Trips. This brings out Orton and Batista. Batista distracts the ref. Orton picks up the sledge hammer and signals for HHH to irish whip "Champion wrestler" over to him. HHH goes for the Irish Whip, but "Champion wrestler" reverses and Orton nails HHH IN THE BACK with the sledge hammer. HHH gets pinned and an argument ensues.

Next Night on Raw: Evolution have a big interview. This interview basically brings up all the problems they have been having these past few months. HHH says it's because of Orton and Batista that he hasn't been able to win the title..yada yada yada. Then just when it looks like Orton is going to piss off HHH some more, he grabs the mic and tells HHH he is sorry. He tells him that he's sorry for acting like an asshole for the past few months, he's sorry for putting himself in front of Evolution and most of all, he is sorry for costing him the title. But, then Orton says that he's going to make everything up to HHH because he got another tag title match for them in the main event. HHH likes it and Evolution looks to be on good terms.

Raw Tag Title Main Event: Okay, let's just say it's Orton and HHH against the tag champions Benjamin and Michaels. Okay, the finish comes when first Flair and Batista comes down to ringside. HHH is fighting Benjamin in the ring and Orton is fighting Michaels on the floor. Batista then attacks Michaels and Michaels is fighting with him. Flair hands the IC Title to Orton and then distracts the ref. Orton signals to HHH he has the title. HHH says to give it to him so he can nail Benjamin. Orton rolls into the ring with the title and throws it over to HHH. But in a split second Orton NAILS THE RKO ON HHH as the Title just was grabbed by HHH. Benjamin gets the 3 COUNT.

Post Match Stuff: Okay, this is the big Split. So Orton is smiling and laughing at HHH as Benjamin's music plays. Benjamin is celebrating in another corner. Flair comes into the ring and starts getting pissed at Orton. He starts doing that crazy dance that he does when he is mad. Flair rips off his shirt and is ready to fight. Batista comes in and holds back Flair and Batista starts arguing with Orton. ORTON is just like "What do you want from me" type of deal. Flair is ready to fight Orton and Batista again holds him back. Then Orton gives a little gesture to Batista and BATISTA CLOSELINES THE SH** OUT OF FLAIR. Orton and Batista smile and continue an attack on both HHH and Flair. Michaels then comes back in and starts attacking Batista and Orton. Superkick to Batista. Benjamin, who was on the ramp leaving, comes back with his tag title and stands by Michaels. Orton rolls out of the ring.
Then in a split second, BENJAMIN NAILS MICHAELS WITH THE TITLE BELT. Orton and Batista jump back in and continue the attack on all three men. Orton rips up an Evolution T-shirt and all three men hold there hands up as Raw goes off the air.

Next Raw: Orton, Batista, and Benjamin give an interview to explain everything. I usually would write what they would say, but I'm getting tired and I'm skipping this.

So then the camera cuts to HHH and Flair arrivng in the back with a stern look on there faces. HHH and Flair tell Bischoff they want Orton and Batista. Bischoff makes the tag match for the main event.

Main Event: Finish comes as Benjamin interferes and distracts HHH as Orton gets the RKO. The three Heels beat on HHH and Flair. Then Orton grabs a chair and goes for the move where he is going to break HHH's ankle. Orton climbs the tunbuckle and is ready to jump on the chair with HHH's ankle inside. Just then, Michaels comes FLYING down towards the ring with a steel chair and cleans house. Crowd goes NUTS!!!!!!!! Michaels helps up Ric Flair and he shakes his hand. Michaels doesn't help HHH up, he just points to him like he did him a favor. Show ends

Next show the same thing happens to HBK as Benajamin tries to break his leg. HHH comes out with a chair and cleans house of Orton's New Group. HHH then points to Shawn and leaves the ring as the show ends.

Okay, Finally this is how the Final Reunion goes down. Let's say the Tag Titles are held up because Benjamin and Michaels were champs and obviously they can't get along. So Bischoff makes a match HHH and Flair vs Orton and Benjamin for the Titles. Flair gets hurt during the night and Bischoff replaces Flair with Michaels. HHH is shown backstage talking to people on whether or not he can trus Shawn. Same thing with HBK. Just before the match the two meet and HHH goes to Shawn "I'm trusting you have my back" Shawn replies, "Just as much as I'm trusting you have mine."

Tag Title Match: Finish comes when Batista comes down to ringside and distracts the ref. Benjamin is down via HBK on the outside. Orton is legal. Orton goes for his IC Title. He sets up to nail a dazed HHH with it. But just then Michaels slips the sledge hammer to HHH without Orton seeing it. (They were in the corner, so Orton couldn't see.) Orton runs to nail HHH with the title and HHH WAFFLES ORTON WITH THE SLEDGE IN THE FACE. Crowd Loves it. Michaels takes out Batista and HHH gest the 3 count.

Post Match: HHH takes one tag title and climbs one corner to celebrate. Michaels takes the other and goes to the corner diagonally across the celebrate. Then the two get down and meet right in the middle of the ring. HHH and HBK stare at each other and then in a one moment they embrace each other as the crowd goes NUTS!!!!!!!!

Okay basically that's how I would do it. Afterwards HHH and Shawn would continue fighting Orton's group. Orton costs HHH in the Royal Rumble match and they go on to have a match at Mania. HBK would feud with Benjamin.

Anything that involves Randy Orton coming anywhere near the World Title, I'm dead-set against. I guarantee you, he'd be a bigger flop than Lesnar.

ShowBerg.. could work, just not at the moment because of the incident with Angle and would've worked better when Oldberg was in WWE. It won't be the angle that brings WWE to the top, but it could work for a couple of weeks. Maybe if he takes himself very seriously as Showberg, and wonders why people are still laughing at him and gets him more angry which ends up with Show using his real finisher, the chokeslam. It may work and just leads up to Show going back to Big Show with a new look. It's very much Goldberg and Show combined, only it seems like it will eventually fail.

I agree with Gonmad. It makes no sense to have Big Show throw Angle off the balcony and then come back as a comedy character. If they want to get Big show over, they need to do what WCW did with him: not let him talk! Portray him as this huge monster than cannot be stopped. Send him through the ranks of SD superstars until eventually reaching the champion.

Personally, I'd be more interested in Big Show vs. Eddie Guerrero for the title than Eddie vs. Bradshaw.
