Who on the current roster is best suited to end "MARK" Calaway's WM streak?

Judging by their current momentum from now until next year's WrestleMania, who on the current roster do you think would be best suited to end Mizzark Calaway's WrestleMania streak?

Should it be a made man or an up and comer?

Do you think they missed out on an opportunity? (ie. Wade Barrett)

There was a bit of mistiming on both guys parts, and Ryback didn't get Tensai up properly for the shellshock. This then led to a bunch of guys on the Internet saying Ryback was shit and couldn't lift anyone big, even though he did it the very next day on Smackdown.

I would say Punk, if he hadn't expressed interest in retiring in the next couple years. Also, he can catapult himself in the big picture without something as prominent as the streak breaker.

If they do a good build up with Barrett and he can stay injury free, I think he would be a good choice. He is young but has a good feel for the business. After him, I would say Cesaro. Definitely needs to be a guy that is "up and coming" and not someone already established.

That is one of my issues right now, failing to build new stars instead of going back to the well for guys like Rock, Lesnar, HHH and Taker.

Yeah, there was also a video going around from a house show where he somehow failed to lift Paul Heyman for it. Problem seemed to be with his lifting technique rather than his brute strength.

But whats funny is, Hunter went on record before he faced Taker twice, and said he doesn't think the streak should ever be broken. Punk has also said, in dead serious tone "I don't want the streak. I'm not interested in it" so yeah, I don't see it happening this year. Or ever.

I would say someone should go into it with a completely different mentality. Not the "I'm gonna be the one to end the streak" mentality. More like a "Oh shit, the Undertaker? I thought I was winning a title match! I'm gonna get KILLED" mentality. As in, they completely buy into the aura as opposed to acting like a tough guy, which we've seen a lot the past few years. I'd say Cesaro for this role only because he's probably a good enough hand and good enough at showing emotion in ring to pull it off.

Not saying they should be completely lacking in confidence. They should think of themselves as good, but not "Beat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania" good. Like "He Beat Shawn Michaels and Triple H at Mania, what chance do I have?" kind of mentality. Maybe even have a segment with Ricky Steamboat where he's like "Wrestlemania is one of those moments that brings out the best in you. It's the time you go from being good to being great." Maybe a couple other ones with Arn Anderson and Finlay along the same lines. Cesaro should almost certainly be a solid tweener at this point.

The match comes, and he clearly surprises himself by hanging with the Dead Man. After kicking out from a Chokeslam, the camera zooms in to see him wide eyed. Taker goes for the Tombstone, Cesaro escapes and hits the Alapamare Waterslide for 2. This is the moment he realizes he can do it.

There's a bit more back and forth, but Cesaro definitely looks like he has the confidence to do it. Taker backdrops out of a Neutralizer attempt. A second Chokeslam connects, and Taker does the Cut throat motion. Everyone expects the end as he throws Cesaro over his shoulder. Cesaro again slips out and goes straight to the ropes. He springboards and catches the Dead Man coming in with a huge European Uppercut. Taker is down, and in trouble. Cesaro sets his hands on his head to crack his neck, but stops. He knows what's about to come. He hits the rope just as Taker sits up... into a diving European Uppercut. THEN he cracks his neck. He pulls Taker into position and scores with the Neutralizer. He doesn't go for the Pin. Instead he hits a second Neutralizer. The whole thing is "He's not trying to win a title, he's after something much more prestigious. He's trying to do something not even Edge, CM Punk, Triple H, Shawn Michaels or Ric Flair has been able to do."

Taker barely survives the second pin attempt. Cesaro goes for another Alpamare Waterslide to put Taker away, but the Dead Man escapes. Cesaro turns around... TOMBSTONE!!! Taker crosses the arms and sticks out the tongue...

1...
2...
CESARO KICKS OUT!!!

Taker actually sells shock at this one. The commentators can't believe this. Taker looks like he's going for the Last Ride, Cesaro floats over. He lifts Taker up, and goes to the corner. He carries the Dead Man up to the second Rope before jumping off, scoring with a second rope Alpamare Waterslide. This ends the streak.

Yes Gertner, it's a Horrible Idea. And You're welcome, Noid.

Cesaro would be a dreadful choice. People bang on about how the guy to do it should be the next face of the company. How can you have a face of the company that has the personality of a cardboard box? For all his worth in the ring, cesaro won't be a major player in the WWE.

Sure if you enjoy seeing him jumping in the air just to throw a simple punch. He's like a fly trying to get out of a window, pointless, excessive movement. And character-wise... well there's literally nothing to say.

I think someone like Barrett or Sandow could break it. I can see both being around for quite a while if they avoid injury. They can decently "go" in the ring (so the guys who fap to workrate can get behind them) and they actually have personalities (so the guys who fap to smooth talkers can get behind them).

I don't really think anyone on the current roster is suited to end the streak to be honest. Barret is too far gone now to be redeemable unless they totally repackage him, new name and all. Punk doesn't need it. Cena definitely doesn't need it, especially if he beats Rock. Orton is too much of a risk. Cesaro's nowhere near ready or capable at this time. And anyone who said Rock should go eat a pack of razor blades.

Only guy mentioned here that makes any sense is Ryback and even he just doesn't feel right for the job. I mean Batista got a shot and didn't do it so why should Batista 2.0 get it.

CM Punk or John Cena ending the streak next year at WrestleMania would make sense. This year, I see Punk losing to Taker, but if he really enjoys working with Punk and wants to drop the streak off to him, then I'm sure Punk will do business. Cena seems like the default answer to this question.

There is a chance that someone might swell up in the next year or so that really impresses Taker, Vince, Triple H and all the right people. It could be anyone, from Cody Rhodes to Damien Sandow to Ted DiBiase to Daniel Bryan to, yes, Antonio Cesaro. I've absolutely hated this idea in the past, but if Taker beats Punk at WrestleMania, having the 2014 Royal Rumble Winner challenge The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX might actually be an interesting story. That you had four guys fighting over the right to face The Undertaker this year was the first step to making guys earn the right to face Undertaker at WrestleMania. If you don't want to use the Royal Rumble, you could have some sort of "Tournament of the Damned" and have eight guys all compete for the right to face Undertaker at WrestleMania. You could release the tournament matches as part of their own DVD set or something. The winner of the tournament could then move on to face Kane, who sort of serves as "gate-keeper" to The Undertaker. Let's say we've got Daniel Bryan taking this tournament, defeating Antonio Cesaro, Randy Orton and CM Punk along the way to earn the shot. Bryan's motivations are that he wants to prove that he is The Greatest Of All-Time, even better than his mentor, Shawn Michaels, who failed to end the streak twice. When it comes time to face Kane, there is so much history there between the two. Bryan could make Kane submit, which would be the ultimate seal of approval from The Undertaker's own kayfabe brother. There wouldn't need to be much promo work done for the match. "The teacher couldn't beat me so he sends his best student? Well, at WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan, I take you back to school and teach you about fear." "Yeah, well, at WrestleMania, I'm going to make you tap-out." Bryan can embrace the "YES!" chants if he hasn't by this point, and when asked about his strategy for WrestleMania, Bryan can answer "I'm going to use the power of positivity to overwhelm The Undertaker's negative shadow abilities." Analysts can claim that Daniel Bryan is taking this match at WrestleMania too lightly, and Bryan can remind them of what he went through to earn this match -- there's no way he's taking it lightly -- but he's the greatest wrestler in the world, and he truly believes that, so at WrestleMania it's not Daniel Bryan who needs to prove anything -- it's The Undertaker.

Bryan proceeds to make The Undertaker tap-out in the most shocking WrestleMania moment of all-time. If the fans turn on Bryan for it (I don't think they would), then Bryan can just become a heel. If they embrace Bryan as the man who did the impossible, then he can be pushed as "The Bruce Lee of the WWE."

And before you say "Daniel Bryan will never end the streak," it really comes down to who The Undertaker wants to end the streak (if anyone). If he wants to work WrestleMania XXX and he wants to work with a guy who seems like he would be a lot of fun to work with, is decent enough on the mic and fantastic in the ring -- Daniel Bryan becomes a pretty strong candidate by default. Bryan is smaller than most guys in the business, but he's overcome that so far and main evented for the WWE, and his size might actually be beneficial for The Undertaker, who could get Bryan up for certain moves easier than most guys. It just so happens that there is the backstory there of Bryan being trained by HBK and teaming with The Undertaker's brother.

Bryan would also only be 32 when he ended the streak. He'd still have a few more years of smart working left in him full-time. And who knows how many years of "special attraction" matches after that?

He does, but weren't there rumours of it a few years ago? Seemed random even then, but DiBiase is a good ring hand and decent when it comes to promos. Maybe he shows something magic in the next year? He was more or less thrown in there randomly, though.
