what was the explanation behind Hornswoggle? Was there a huge buildup or anything, or was it just "booking on the fly"?

I've been using the term "Hornswaggling" when it comes to bailing on a storyline, usually in a ridiculous manner.

For instance, they really Hornswaggled their way out of that McMahon stage collapse.
