Are unmarked spoilers ever OK?
About a year & a half ago, I made a post containing the result of a match that has happened only an hour or so previously. People told me that I needed to put it in spoiler tags, since it had been less than a day or two. So, I did.

Last night, there were multiple posts in the 100k+1 thread talking about the result of Destination X's main event. Even after people complained about spoilers, it continued. What the fuck? Do we just not care about spoiling stuff anymore here?

it's mostly common sense really. If there is a thread pertaining to a show that has happened recently or somebody involved in something you don't want spoiled, people simply shouldn't go in there. For them to do so and then bitch about spoilers is retarded. The 100,000 replies/TNA stuff is just the "lol TNA" mindset no matter how shitty it might be if you didn't want it spoiled, I doubt that's ever going to change Then again, there's also an argument to be made that if you don't want anything spoiling then you probably shouldn't go in the wrestling forum in general. Blatantly posting a thread entitled "JOHN CENA IS WWE CHAMPION" just after Mania would obviously be a knob move. But yeah, I'd say common sense and a bit of decency really. Pre-taped stuff is a different matter entirely.

I'm all for spoiler tags, even if it's used for lol TNA.

I don't agree with the whole "if you didn't want spoilers then you shouldn't have came into the Wrestling Forum" thing, seeing as we do have spoiler tags. If spoiler tags didn't exist, then the "if you didn't want spoilers" thing would be valid.

But seeing as they do exist, then nobody should really have to think twice about entering threads in the Wrestling Forum, unless the title of the thread mentions something you don't want spoiled, for example "SmackDown Results" or "About what happened on Raw last night".

There's been a few times I've been in Poit's shoes and came across spoilers in the "100,001" Replies thread, so I know how annoyed he must be about Destination X's main event being spoiled for him.

Unmarked spoilers are ok in threads where you would expect to find them (EG threads dedicated to the show). If you are using the 100,001 Replies thread as a place to discuss things, like TNA, you should definitely use spoiler tags. Even better, you should make your own Destination X thread.

I don't think things have been too bad in terms of spoilers in general recently, but the Destination X thing was a dick move by those involved in the thread. As for he continued discussion afterwards, I guess I can't see the point in them putting spoiler tags around things after they ruined it already? Not saying any of it was right, but by the time other people commented on the thread, the 'damage' was already done.

But yes, use fucking spoiler tags, shouldn't matter if its WWE, TNA, ROH, OCW or any other organisation. Bit of courtesy guys.

I can see spoilers being an issue for shows that haven't aired yet. Once they've aired though, you've gotta know you're taking a risk when you come to the forum.

Depends where the spoilers are since Poit's issue is when those spoilers start showing up in unexpected threads or don't get tagged along with the discussion posts afterwards.

Was a bit odd since normally TNA ppvs or special shows have their own threads and in this case Destination X didn't.

Personally I've been guilty of spoiling some stuff from Smackdown in the past even after it showed but stopped once Cool King reminded me that some people in the UK don't watch the show until the day after because the original airing is like at 2am there.

I don't think it should be up to people to know the show times of every event for every part of the world. When something airs, it's in your mind and becomes natural to discuss on a wrestling forum. If you're aware that a good portion of people who plan on seeing a show haven't seen a show yet, then yeah, it's a nice courtesy, but it shouldn't really be expected. You should always assume that a show that has aired to the majority of people will be discussed on a wrestling message board and if you plan on watching it and really don't want it spoiled, you should probably just hold off on coming here til you do.

When I don't watch Raw until later on in the night I don't go on here or facebook until I've watched it. That match being "spoiled" for me made me actually want to watch it which I did.

I guess since it's TNA nobody really gives a shit about proper spoiler conduct. Didn't even know there was a free PPV until the main event was spoiled here.
