Total Divas

Anyone watch this yet?

Here's Episode 1 Part 1

Episode 1 Part 2

Episode 1 Part 3

Surprisingly decent TV. Not sure how much of this is a 'work', but meh, it's reality TV. So it's definitely scripted to a point.

The highlights:
Nattie / Natalya Neidhart: WOW. That in-ring segment reeked of awesome. I miss Nattie in the ring. And Beth Phoenix. She's composed throughout the episode, articulate, and genuinely seems like a decent woman. What i don't get is, if she feels so strongly about being held back, then doesn't management know about it already?
John Cena: His dialogue with big boob Bella during dinner. Nuff said.

The low-points:
The Bella Twins: I get they are the scripted 'heels' on the show, but big boob Bella is made to look batshit crazy. Perhaps she is. Vain and conceited. And, i didn't get why only big boob Bella thinks Eva Marie looks like her. She's a TWIN. And that twin is also hired by the same company. Uh, what?
Uh, Seamstress: Are you serious? Clothes are stitched 2 minutes before an entrance is scheduled? Lol. Srsly?
Eva Marie's Red Hair: Looks fiery and hot, sure, but damn. Wish i could get away with something just because 'it feels really good.'

Watched it, doubtful I will again. Seemed staged in a lot of parts, and the Bella's are just unlikeable.

Not gonna lie, I am probably gonna watch it again. It is a show that I would not watch in a million years, though, if it did not have a wrestling connection.

Also, the show would have been approximately 20x better if Kaitlyn were on it.

E! looks like it launched a solid Sunday partner for the Kardashians. WWE reality jaunt Total Divas opened to 1.3 million viewers last night, eclipsing every network opener in nearly a year.

The 10 p.m. broadcast of Total Divas took in 885,000 adults 18-49 and a 1.1 rating among households, making it the most watched premiere since Married to Jonas last August. This comes on the heels of lackluster launches for other Sunday fare such as What Would Ryan Lochte Do? and The Wanted Life.

Total Divas retained less than half of its lead-in from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, though the network flagship was near a season high with 2.8 million viewers. Keeping Up returned for its eighth season with 3 million viewers in June.

A midnight encore of Total Divas added another 700,000 viewers, 500,000 of them adults 18-49.

Nattie was awfully shocked and disappointed to be told that she doesn't have a match at Wrestlemania. Not quite sure why she would have thought that she even had a chance at being on the card in the first place.

I feel like if this show proves itself to be a consistent hit, those reality show participants are going to be given storylines and increased exposure at the expense of the women who are actually interesting and can wrestle. Other than Natalya, I have no interest in seeing those girls wrestle.

The fact that the two most over and accomplished women on the roster (excluding Nattie who hasn't been relevant in almost two years) seem to have no part in it is kind of befuddling. I guess Kaitlyn and AJ will be overlooked for making women's wrestling good again? I dunno, rambling.

I feel like it's going to start being mixed in with the Daniel Bryan/Cena feud. If there's one thing that WWE loves to do is shovel shit down our throats until we are sick of it. (source: WWE App)

The Bellas remind me of the stereotypical mother-in-law, but thirty years younger. Brie comes across as condescending due to her nose. Everyone involved in the show needs to scrunch their nose more often.

I know this is likely 99% scripted bullshit, but did anyone else wonder if maybe the mixed tag match got cut from WM because they shit the bed during the rehearsal and the decision was made to give more time to Rock/Cena and Punk/Taker instead of putting on a shitty match?

Yeah that seems to be the biggest assumption from a few other places now that the episode aired.

Doesn't excuse the fact that the WWE did sort of screw up with the overall timings for Mania this year. No skits this year and they still had time issues.

I'm kind of interested to watch this, just to see how they do it, and see if Daniel Bryan and John Cena play an active role in the show. It'll be interesting to see how it does in the ratings next week. Maybe next season they can give time to amazing girls like Emma, AJ and Paige?

I can't stand the Bellas, so the prospect of a show, and a reality show no-less, that's seemingly centered on them doesn't appeal to me in the least.

I have no sympathy for their match getting cut from WrestleMania.

"The match before us ran long. OMG."

It was HHH/Lesnar or Undertaker/Cena. Shut the fuck up. The only reason you have a job is because Vince McMahon likes your slit.

Of course not! I don't know how many times I have to say this, nothing is hotter than a correctly applied wrist lock!

Also, pretty much all of the divas on this show are way hotter with minimal/no makeup. Especially the Bellas.

I do feel bad for their WM match cutting short. Not to say that they shouldn't have given extra time to the other matches (they should have) but in general all 8 people involved lost out on a WM payday. I can't remember who it was offhand, but a former WWE guy broke down the differences between a WM payday and the payday you would get for just being on the pre-show or not at all, and they're pretty massive. To go from thinking you're getting the payday to not getting one at all has gotta be pretty rough.

They could have gotten the match in even with giving Lesnar/HHH, Taker/Punk etc. more time - it just would have involved showing less commercials during the show. There was basically an ad break between each match.
