Active MMA fighters in wrestling

I don't really understand the appeal or why TNA is recruiting these guys. Wrestling is (IMHO) a lot different from MMA in terms of what you need to learn. How much time will go by until these guys have to actually go into the ring and fail horribly?

It's like Iggy said in the other thread, crossover appeal, look at the success Brock had with both fanbases, they'll get mentioned during Bellator shows etc. It doesn't do TNA any harm, Bellator maybe though.

Rampage and Tito haven't been relevant in MMA for years. King Mo was never relevant. Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE just months after his departure from MMA. Brock Lesnar was also established in the WWE has a bad son of a bitch. Tito has done work in TNA before to zero reaction and little revenue to show for it. TNA/Spike is chasing a ghost by trying to attract MMA fans to watch TNA and using TNA to attract new MMA fans for their bush league MMA brand.

They both still have some name value but not as much as even five years ago. There was no build up to it, I get that its a surprise reveal and everything but aside from the Spike connection there's no logical reason for Tito to be there or for anyone to give a fuck that he is, he can't/shouldn't interact with Rampage if they're due to have a shoot fight in a few months but then if they're both training what exactly can they do in run up to it?

And I can't see them jobbing if they have more fights lined up. should have brought back Tank Abbot if they want an MMA star.

I love this in kayfabe. A mysterious video was sent to TNA's office and they decided to play it on their show (okay..... ), and it turns out to be Ortiz. So like, we have to assume that the Huntington Beach Bad Boy Tito Ortiz was just sat at home, and thought "damn I need to be in TNA!, I suppose instead of reaching out to Dixie Carter, I'll just film a video clip of me sat in darkness. Yep. That'll do it".

We can all agree they missed a golden opportunity to debut the Overgiver.

This should be sent to TNA. It reminds of when WCW was bringing in every celeb they could to boost ratings.

I want to know when it became a fact that if you like wrestling you will like mma and vice versa.

There is some crossover, but MMA has grown to the point where the average 16-35 year old male who would watch both products (or one over the other) has already done so.
