Who needs the win more?

As much as I like CM Punk I think Brock really needs this win or to be DQ'd after using a weapon. Taking a pinfall to CM Punk now would really BREAK IT for Brock. CM Punk can handle a loss at SummerSlam a could extend the feud because after this I am not quite sure what you do with Brock

So who do you think needs the win more and what direction do you send Brock in after this match?

It's Brock. 4 matches- an unnecessary loss to Cena, and winning 2 out of 3 lackluster matches against HHH in a storyline no one cared about since he returned. I don't find wins/losses very important these days, but Brock needs this bad.

Brock should lose, and then leave the company again. Honestly feel that, apart from his first match with Cena, the guy hasn't really "brought anything" to the WWE. Just an excessive amount of money and main event exposure for minimal work. There are much more deserving people who could be in Lesnar's position.

Brock considering as a "beast" his record is only 2-2.

Brock beats Punk and then takes another mini-vacation against the advice of Heyman who is still worried about Punk. Brock then tells Heyman to just use the other "Heyman Guy" to fix any problems while he's gone.

Lets the WWE save up on Brock dates and transition into a longer Axel vs Punk feud to help out Axel's development.

Voted for Brock, but that's only if he has enough dates on his contract to work a 2nd match with Punk and then the WM 30 build.

Here's my booking for the rest of 2013:

I say Brock goes over Punk at SS in a "questionable" manner. The beast laughs off the victory and walks away saying you had your chance. Punk is still irate over not getting revenge on Heyman that now he has to go after next in line, Axel. Punk takes the IC belt from Axel at Night Of Champions, but doesn't get his revenge on Heyman just yet. Heyman or Lesnar screws Punk at the Battleground rematch costing him the IC belt and setting up the rematch against Brock at Hell In A Cell. Punk goes over Brock in the Cell, but just as he is about to get his revenge on Heyman, out comes RVD for a heel turn setting up 2 outstanding matches between Punk and RVD at Survivor Series and TLC.

I know RVD's contract is a short one, but I can't imagine a better way to get him back in a feud that a lot of people would pay money to see. I also can't see RVD or WWE wasting their time just for a handful of TV matches. It makes perfect sense. This is all contingent, though, on Lesnar's contract situation.

I look at this pay per view kind of like a passing of the guard to be honest. The Big Muscle freaks vs the small athletic wrestlers. Cena vs Bryan. Punk vs Lesnar. All signs point to the smaller guys winning.

It's quite tricky. On one hand, Brock losing all the time will eventually damage his mystique (some would say it already has been tarnished). But on the other, Punk losing here means he's not "The Best in the World." Yeah, it gives Punk something to prove, and Punk can talk his way back into credibility (remember when he called himself "The Best Wrestler in the World" after losing at like 12 straight PPVs?). I actually really like the idea of Curtis Axel getting involved and helping Lesnar win. Brock gets the win, fans can feel like Punk got screwed and a major Intercontinental Title match is set for Night of Champions -- Curtis Axel defending against CM Punk. I do have a feeling that Punk vs. Lesnar will be the match they put inside Hell in a Cell, so they'll probably have Punk interact with Axel in the meantime. Maybe Punk wins the IC Title at NOC and then drops it back to Axel when Brock Lesnar helps out at Battleground. Then it'd make sense to do "Team Heyman vs. Team Punk" at Survivor Series.

I don't know. I feel like we're just gonna re-do the Triple H feud and have Brock win only for Punk the get the win back at WrestleMania or something.

Brock should never have lost to Triple H. If he loses to Punk now at SummerSlam, it's gonna be another step toward making the act of beating Brock Lesnar seem like "meh. So what?" Punk is still in the midst of establishing himself as a guy who can step in and take over if Cena's career ends today though. He could use a win against a more mainstream name like Lesnar. I don't know. I feel like the feud is gonna continue so with that in mind, I'd say Lesnar winning and Punk going on a journey to overcome the monster at some point is probably the way to go.

In the minority here, cause I really do like Brock, but Punk really needs this in my opinion.

Against any of the major "stars" of WWE's most popular era, he has lost...to HHH, to The Rock and to Undertaker. A loss to Brock just does more to lessen his credibility as a top tier star.

Wins over people like Jericho are not worth anything anymore, and it really does leave his wins over Cena as his only massive wins in his career. Just don't think it looks good if they are interested in pushing him as Best in the World going forward...

Brock, RVD and Jericho show up to get paid and put other talent over. Brock doesn't need anything. He could lose clean and show up again in a couple of months for another ppv like nothing happened and he would still be the beast that he is.

I wonder how many people would have been up in arms about Austin "needing" a win over Bret before their Wrestlemania match. As long as the match is done well it doesn't matter who "needs" the win more.

Only explanation I can think of is the WWE realized Lesnar never lost to Cena in a singles match before and him loosing fits the stereotypical mold of everyone has to be "fed" to Cena at some point regardless of how it affects the other person's push or status.

http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers/....html?res=2000
Cena has several wins over Lesnar but never in a singles match before that ppv.

Only way Punk should beat Lesnar is if 20 guys come down and beat fuck out of Brock, like when Taker died at Rumble 94.

Really should have built up Brock as an unstoppable force before he went head-to-head with Cena. Especially under the assumption that he'd be there a year and no more.

I don't think they knew they were gonna do a "Cena had a tough year" thing until after the Rumble.

With that in mind, I thought the match was perfect. Lesnar looked scary as shit and made one mistake in his first wrestling match in years and Cena, the top wrestler in the world, took the win. It made sense and wasn't anything Brock couldn't recover from.

The loss to Triple H after Brock looked so good going over him at SummerSlam however... THAT made zero sense. There's no reason Triple H needed to look like he was on the same level as Lesnar at this point.

Was that before or after the whole "big turnaround in 2013!" speech by Cena, though. Honestly having a tough time remembering.

Although that is VERY true, he did pick up a nice win v. Y2J @ Payback, even if the logic behind it was as simplistic as "because Chicago". I think we'd all be remiss not to remember that.

I still think that Cena should have beaten The Rock at WrestleMania and lost to Brock at Extreme Rules. I do think that Triple H beating Brock in their second match was a good idea, though. I would have had Shawn Michaels play a bigger part to protect Brock however.
