Steam (and Amazon, and probably other stores) Holiday Sale
The sale is running from 12/19 to 1/3. There's the usual Steam sale stuff: 9 daily deals each day, which each last 48 hours; 4 flash sales every 8 hours, with an additional community's choice sale where you vote on which game is discounted.
They're doing some new stuff with the event-specific Snow Globe trading cards. Like with the summer sale, crafting a badge, spending $10 on games, or voting 3 times for the community's choice sale gets you a card. Unlike the summer sale cards, you can craft the Snow Globe badge an unlimited number of times, and each time you do so, you'll get a special holiday item in one of 10 free-to-play games. Also, unlike the summer sale cards, the Snow Globe cards will disappear when the sale ends on January 3rd. Amazon is matching these deals, though it takes them some time to update their prices. For each game you buy from them, they'll provide a $5 credit to use on selected games in January. If you find awesome sales on other sites, please post them. Flash/Community Sale #1 for 12/25

I think people on Steam don't pay enough attention. The current community's choice sale is only 35 cents cheaper than its regular sale price.
