hot crowds, is the joke on them?
where do you guys stand on hot crowds who overtake a show?

as a viewer from the tv I think they are fun and what not but, when a crowd overtakes a show by telling the company this isn't what we want after they shelled out their own money for the show that was advertised does the joke go on them? as WWE laughs all the way to the gate?

Will a hot crowd alter future booking?

Lance storm's column is a good read. Today he said that the crowd got exactly what was advertised. Bryan wasn't scheduled for the rumble.

I suppose its like trying to change the outcome of a movie at the cinema. It's not going to happen and you got what you paid for. So yeah joke is probably on them

That being said...I bet it's fun being part of it

bitching won't change anything. All you can do is like he said watch DB segments turn the channel at everything else. That, and stop buying tickets to shows.

for the most part the company knows their fanbase is loyal and not going anywhere. I assume they get just laugh it off and leave saying well at least the next town wont care as much

I think it's what they don't want that was already advertised. Example Orton-Cena. I went last night to see Rumble match and other stuff but had no desire for the World Title match because it's been shit booking and Cena/Orton has happened a billion times already. Just like they say at a Football Game, you paid for your ticket, you should be able to do whatever you want, within reason of course. If didn't like the match that was put together, boo, chant, make it a fun time.

Yeah, Bryan wasn't advertised for the match. Fandango was though. And WWE decided to rob the crowd of seeing the guy they all wanted to see win it actually win it. Probably gonna start watching again next week just to see if they right the ship and put Fandango in a match with Batista for the WrestleMania spot but if not I'll probably stop watching again. For good. WWE needs to take notice.

This. There's a difference between the two. I have no trouble with crowds booing or cheering whomever. By all means, let the company know who you're passionate about. You wanna boo Batista out of the building, cheers. But starting a bunch of stupid chants is just pure attention whoring. No idea why WWE acknowledges it. Just makes it worse.

Tonight on Raw, Kofi and Del Rio were having a fine match, but the crowd decided to shit on it and chant for the announcers and what have you. It's the same principle as the morons who jump up and start going crazy when they see a random shot of their area on the Titantron.

I dread the post-Mania Raw this year.

Saying nothing is going to happen and nothing happens, and saying something is going to happen and something happens is a bit different.

BTW it's an injustice that #BadNewsBarrett was not at the show.

Future is the key word. Why do you want it hotshotted so badly? How on Earth would having Reigns win the Rumble out of relatively nowhere benefit him that much? Let it simmer for a minute.

This is a good post for highlighting a big problem with a lot of wrestling fans though. If "your guy" isn't at the very top immediately and often, obviously WWE is teh stupid and don't know what they're doing.

For me, whether they audience are right or wrong, being jerks or voicing legit oppositions that they have to the product, I like "hot crowds". It makes the shows more interesting, and it shows that the audience are paying attention and are "involved"... even if it isn't always positive.

Of course you can't please everyone. However, there undoubtedly will be folks who do immediately jump on someone else's band wagon if/when DB becomes champ.

That being said, the reason why most of the adult audience wants to see DB as the champ, is to see fresh matchups and faces in the main event/world title scene. We've seen Cena vs Orton, Cena vs Punk, Orton vs Batista, Cena vs Batista all feud and headline some big time PPVs in the last few years. So now we're going to get basically the same feuds and matches that we've all seen in the last 5 years, often for the world title and sometimes multiple times. It's stale.

You know what we haven't seen in the main event/world title scene in the last 5 years? Someone as over as Daniel Bryan for one thing. Outside of Punk's long reign and Rock's title reign, it's been at least one of the same 3-4 guys feuding and/or headling PPV after PPV for the world title. It's time for some fresh faces in the title scene, even more so when they're over and talented.

I'm not saying throw random guys into the world title hunt, but when someone really starts to get over ala Daniel Bryan, don't drag out their ascension into the world title picture and ultimate payoff indefinitely either. I think it's safe to say that if Bryan had been in the Rumble and not won, there wouldn't be nearly as big an uproar. For example, the final four could've been Bryan, Batista, Punk and Sheamus and had an awesome ending that wouldn't have left folks asking why the most over guy on the roster wasn't even in the match.

Are you an opponent of free speech? Again, you may not agree with their opinions, or the way they were expressing their opinions, but that doesn't make it any less valid and shouldn't bar them from expressing their opinions.

Sure, they can be removed from the premises for non-compliance of event staff, or for dangerous or disruptive behavior, but I'm pretty sure Vince doesn't want his PPV audiences to look like a TNA show or have a riot on his hands. Not to mention the bad press reaction the WWE would receive.

Honestly, whether or not we got WHO they advertised is beside the point. Aside from Bryan/Wyatt, the show was awful. The Lesnar/Show match just flat out didn't happen, nice bait and switch there. And the WWE World Title match was a rematch against two people nobody gave a shit about when they fought last month. Nobody bought the PPV on the drawing power of that match, everyone bought it for the Rumble match itself. But the match this year was just terrible.

No big surprises (Nash? Again? / JBL for 18 seconds?), except for Kingston no really interesting spots, and the winner was someone nobody wanted to see win. Aside from an impressive showing from Roman, the match itself was shit and deserved to be shit on.

As a Ravens fan, it pains me to say this. But yay Pittsburgh.

the Rumble match was fine/no worse than any of the recent years. If Bryan would have showed up in the Rumble, it would have been "good". If Bryan had showed up in the Rumble and won, it would have been a contender for best Rumble ever.
