Has John Cena main evented his last Wrestlemania?
Cena has main evented 5 of the last 8 Wrestlemania events. In all these years, there have been two belts. Now with only one belt and MAYBE some younger talent being pushed over the next few years, has John Cena main evented his last Wrestlemania? Will he be more of an attraction in the future or do you see him there to elevate guys like Bray Wyatt and others in the future?

He absolutely hasn't main evented his last WrestleMania. He's still by far the biggest mainstream full-time star in the company and he'll only become a bigger attraction when he eventually starts working part time. No one else on the roster can headline WrestleMania and draw in the casual fan like him.

Not to mention, he's still got that Taker match that I think HAS to happen before Taker calls it quits and that will be one of the biggest matches ever and a lock to close out the show.

The thread title made me think that Cena's current injury is more severe than I thought. Does anybody know what's going on there?

As long as he's healthy, he's going to be the Wrestlemania main event. He HAS to have a match with Taker, and you know what? I'd probably put him over, just to watch everyone's head explode.

Cena's the man.

I agree, Cena is the man. I think he will main event if Boston gets it or if the Taker thing ever happens.

Just an eye injury from what I hear. Probably kept him off of TV because of swollen face.

Leaning towards no.

A streak match against Taker would easily be worthy of the main event spot especially if its Taker's last one and/or it gets broken.

Are you talking just about going on last as being the main event? Cause these days they hype like 16 main events per Wrestlemania. And really just having Cena in a match makes that match a main event by default.

I've actually been wonder this myself. On one hand, he is relatively young. But, he does have the two bum elbows, a hip that gives him trouble, and a bad neck. I don't think he has as much time as people think he does.

I think as a face he likely has five or so left before he stops wrestling full time. I say this because that character as a face will run its course in that time and he will have to slide down the pecking order a tad. I think its a given that he'll also do a 'comeback' match like Rock has which will undoubtedly be a main event spot.

HOWEVER

With the Face Pops and crowd reactions that Daniel Bryan has been getting since Summerslam, Maybe. Just Maybe, the time to turn Cena is approaching.

I know that he sells a fuck-ton of merch and is a 'Good Role-Model' for the younger audience and such-like. But seriously, I think even they are starting to feel the boredom.

Imagine this as a turn angle....

Cena Comes out to open the Post Mania Raw. ''I am John Cena, I have given my life to this company and every single one you fans for over 10 years. I taken it to the max every single night. I've given everything I can possibly give to get to where I am and achieve what I have achieved.

And now WrestleMania XXX The biggest show ever and I don't get a spot in The Main Event? All of a sudden Daniel Bryan comes along and John Cena is a forgotten man.

Well you can count yourself 'Forgotten Fans' I couldnt care less about your 'Wishes', 'Your Autographs' Your 'Please Mr Cena pose for a picture'........

Yeah, I meant going on last.

I was just looking for something to talk about. I was kind of thinking no, and Batista was brought up, and with people returning and retiring, I was wondering if anyone thought he may never close a Mania again.

Even the Hulkster had to stop going on last at Mania at some point.

Don't think Batista has taken the physical beating Cena has. Seems every year he's getting injured at some point or another. The neck, pectoral, elbows, hips. I'm stunned he hasn't had a serious knee injury yet considering his seemingly injury prone status.

That said, I can easily see WWE taking it easy on his body as he ages, and lessening the workload a bit to keep him fresh and main eventing. I'm sure we will get that Taker/Cena match soon as well. Hopefully next year.
