Jake Roberts did an interview with TMZ and claimed that he is in need of emergency surgery for a cancerous growth behind his knee.

Roberts said he noticed the tumor behind his knee, the size of a half dollar and had a biopsy done. He was told on Friday that it was cancerous and he was scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.

He told TMZ, "If the devil can't defeat me, cancer doesn't stand a chance in Hell. Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease 'cause The Snake will be just fine."

Roberts said he would be appearing at his next gig, on 3/14 for Jersey Championship Wrestling, and at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony three weeks later.

"Thank for for all of the support and well wishes about my procedure tomorrow. The doctors are optimistic that the growth is contained and tomorrow's removal should take care of the problem. However, we will not know for sure until it is taken out and further tests are done. I am fine and just as optimistic as the doctors.
