Top Games of the 7th Generation

I think it is safe to say the 7th generation of video game consuls has come to a close. Sure a few games might still come out and they will most likely still suppor the systems for a few more years. But we have now seen all there is worth mentioning.

So I was thinking about what I consider the top games of the generation. This is my personal list that came down to my enjoyment and has nothing to do with critical rating, copies sold or anything else.

4. Assassin's Creed 2 - This is where we are introduced to my favorite video game character (and strong running for one of my top fictional characters) of all time, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Not only did they replace silent, brooding, stoic Altaïr with an actual character, but they greatly improved the game. Made it so you can walk briskly without the guards coming down on you. Fantastic game.

3. Mass Effect - This was the 3rd game I bought for the X-Box 360, and now the old disk for the 360 I still owe. I wore out 1 controller and red ringed my 360 playing this and still wanted more. It was the first time I ever saw that I thought was beautiful. The music I still enjoy listening too. Also I love the Mako.

2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - I have Played through this like 5 times now. The other games on this have oddly personal reasons for being on here, Skyrim does as well. But when I think back to the shear number of hours I played, I knew it had to be in the number 2 slot. Though I do love walking around at night in the snow while that really string heavy ,us in plays.

1. Red Dead Redemption - Best horse riding in any video game. I don't ride a horse in Skyrim or Assassin's Creed because they don't work like they do in Red Dead. Besides that, some of the best story telling I have seen. It just pushed all the right buttons. Red Dead is probably also my favorite game of all time.

I know top 4 is kind of a weird number for a top list. These are the top in my mind and heart by a wide margin.

Don't argue with me either, these are my top games. You are welcome to your own for what ever reasons you have.

You did say do Argue with me, but I can't it's a solid list.

I broke an RB button on Mass Effect or at least wore it down to almost be useless. Such a great game that should have stayed in Microsoft Studio's house. EA didn't really ruin it but I think it could have been better staying in house. Two was good and three was decent enough until the last scenes.

I think that Elder Scrolls Oblivion is better than Skyrim. Skyrim was a little bit too easy. You had to actually plan out missions alot more in Oblivion. Had to make sure you had enough soul gems to power your weapon. Had to make more choices on how to level your character up. Just seemed like it had better management. Also it had portable potion kit so you could make stuff on the fly. Having to go to a station to make something doesn't make sense. You break out the novice and pestle and make stuff you need bam.

Skyrim is awesome too though.

Red Dead is probably the best game of Generation.

LA Noire might be somewhere on my list. Doesn't really have much replay value though. That sort of makes it lower.

No, that is The Next Generation. Pepsi is The New Generation.

Fred Durst don't give a fuck about your g-g-g-g-g-generation.

1) Mass Effect series. There is not a single game that draws me into an entire world like that title. I have spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time inside the universe and wore down/broke controllers from heavy usage.

2) Skyrim. I took two days off work and went to the midnight release for this. It was well worth it and I played it on 360 until the very end. It is one of the few discs I still have in my possession.

Those are the only two that really "stick out" for me.

Have to add Fallout 3 and Borderlands 2 since neither has been mentioned.

Also The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Fuck the haters.

Point of clarification: Are you referring to the TWD survival game or the DLC produced by Telltale?

I would NEVER play Survival Instinct. As stoked as I am for the 2nd half of the first season of TFTB, I hope once they wrap it and GoT the next Telltale announcement will be TWD S3.

Although they could also announce a new season of The Wolf Among Us S2 and that'd be great, although now that I think about it I believe I read somewhere that they've got TWF content upcoming to link S2 to S3 that they said would pack even more content than the S1-S2 bridge, 400 Days.

They need to have more puzzles. I'm getting a little bored with being able to beat a chapter so quickly.
