Why did Mick Foley never commentate full time. I feel he would be the perfect foil to Cole and JBL.
Just a thought. |

He was the SmackDown color commentator for a good chunk of 2008, back when they still had the brand split going on and had brand-specific announce teams. I thought he was great it the role.

I think he said he hated Vince screaming in his ear as to why he stopped commentating, then his contract was up and he went to TNA.

Yes, Mr. JL. Foley loved commentating, but hated having Vince in his ear all the time, trying to tell him how and what to say. He details it pretty good in one of his books.

I liked the approach Mick took to color commentary. He played a really reasonable counterpoint to JR's enthusiasm.
