Taika Waititi, the most lovable film maker of our times. He's what you get if you put a real heart in the Tin Man Wes Anderson.
I know that sounds like a Wes Anderson diss but his incongruity lacks real emotion, his films are always so droll and intelligent yet lacking warmth. Like a top of the line sex robot that can talk. Taika Waititi is making incongruous, hilarious and wonderfully heartwarming films every chance he gets and I think he might be the best thing to happen to cynical old Hollywood for years. I love him. |

While I agree with your assessment of Wes Anderson, there's this one scene from The Royal Tenanbaums that emotes so well even if it is in typical Wes Anderson fashion.
